Up for auction is my Generation 1 Viper. I have owned this car since 2000 and what a joy it has been. It has almost 23,000 miles and it's in fantastic condition!!! No wrecks or bump-ups. You'll notice I upgraded to newer Viper wheels, and I recently purchased the factory hardtop, which was $4,000 from Dodge. This car also has the camel colored interior which is rare for this year (most are gray). These dashes are known to get nicked up so I had it professionally re-painted to match the original finish.

This car gets compliments every time I drive it. Many people think it is brand new because the paint looks so shiny with a depth to it. There are a few super minor chips that were professionally touched-up that you may never see but I am particular so I wanted to mention. They wouldn't even show up in a picture. My painter misplaced the final trim bezels around the interior door handles so they need to be purchased ($150 for the pair).

This car is a definite collector's item in mint condition, especially with 23,000 miles. These cars are already starting to go up in value, so this is a great chance to get a wonderful specimen. I have a newer Viper and it just doesn't have the exotic look that the originals have. I have the factory soft top, soft windows, hard top, and hard top windows. The car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. Feel free to inspect the Viper prior to auction end (No joy rides though). My name is Bryan and I can be reached at 803-242-7180.

Check my feedback and bid with confidence!!!

Chrysler recalling 49K Chargers for headlight components

Fri, 14 Mar 2014

Chrysler has issued a recall for about 49,375 2011 and 2012 Dodge Chargers with halogen headlamps due to a problem with the lights. The automaker says that there could be an issue with the jumper harness and other related components.
The automaker says that 43,450 cars are affected in the US, 2,850 in Canada, 375 in Mexico and 2,700 outside of North America. The vehicles will have their headlight assemblies, including the jumper harnesses and bulbs, inspected and potentially replaced. Dodge says that its engineers investigated reports of that were similar to what was found when it recalled about 10,000 police Chargers in 2012 for overheating light components. There have been no injuries or accidents related to fault, according to Chrysler.
The automaker will be in contact with affected owners, and schedule the service. Naturally, any repairs will be free of charge. Scroll down for the company's full announcement.

Top torque-to-weight ratios under $100k, $50k and $25k

Tue, 07 Oct 2014

Horsepower may steal a lot of headlines, but the always-more-complex torque figure is often a critical one for both the workingman and the motoring playboy. The measure of rotational force represents the twist that can liquefy one's tires or haul one's horse trailer. Good stuff.
It follows then, that as with the horsepower-to-weight list that we assembled for you a few months ago, a list of cars that offer the most pound-feet with the fewest pounds to carry, is an interesting one to break down. Sure, there's a big difference in how the torque is applied from a turbocharged six-cylinder in a Swedish luxury sedan and a massive heavy-duty truck's turbo-diesel. But being the car/stat geeks that we are, we think it's kinda neat that those two vehicles rank near each other where torque and weight intersect.
As with the horsepower list, we've given you figures as pounds per every one pound-foot. Again broken down into broad price categories, we've got a mixed bag of 2014 and 2015 models here, too. Every effort has been made to select the most up-to-date prices and specs, and we've also to omitted some '14 cars that won't be re-upped after the ongoing yearly changeover.

Chrysler patents smarter minivan folding seats

Thu, 02 Jan 2014

It's frightening to think of how quickly the mice would have overtaken us if we hadn't stayed one step ahead of them with better mousetraps. We'll never have to worry about that in our relentlessly re-engineered world, though. Case in point: Chrysler has been granted a patent by the US Patent and Trademark Office for an improved design of the already wondrous Stow 'n' Go seating found in the automaker's Town and Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans.
Introduced in 2005, the Stow 'n' Go was improved in 2008, and based on the drawings of this third-generation improvement, the new design appears to allow stowage of the second row of seats without having to move the front-row seats forward as much. It look like it also involves fewer operations and moving parts, with a portion of the seatback being incorporated into the flat floor when the seats are stowed, as opposed to having a completely separate cover.
It's possible that the innovation may appear on the next-generation minivans expected in 2015, but Chrysler isn't commenting on the patent.
