1993 - Dodge Ram 2500 on 2040-cars
North Stratford, New Hampshire, United States
I'm the second owner of this truck. The original owner (also from PA.) did not use this truck very hard. It does NOT and never did have a gooseneck or fifth wheel hitch, and has never had a snowplow. The truck runs and drives very well, the A/C, power windows, locks, emergency brake, 4 wheel drive, even the rear cargo light all work very well. The brakes, drums, rotors, exhaust, glass and interior are all in great shape. I just completely rebuilt the rearend with new Yukon 3.54 ratio ring and pinion gears, all new bearings (including the wlheel beargings and seals) and a used Posi-traction unit. The previous owner apparently hauled a tractor for someone, and didn't use the emergency brake while driving up and onto the trailer. The truck rocked and broke several teeth off the ring gear. This truck has been very well maintained, but never tampered with, and never wrecked. It is a true bone stock survivor with all original paint with the exception of the hood which Dodge re-painted when it was two years old due to peeling. I have all of the original owners manuals/books and the original WINDOW STICKER! The original price paid for this truck was $27,576. The clear coat is peeling and the paint isn't perfect, but this is a good old truck that will only cost you a fraction of what a new one will. And, there's no computer or DPF filter etc. A deposit of $500 is due within 24hr. from the winning bidder, and the truck should be picked up within 10 days. I do not except Pay-Pal and do not want anyone trying to scam or mislead me in any way. Be ready to buy if you bid, and I'm sure that you'll be happy if you are the successful bidder. I wouldn't be affraid to drive the truck home, no matted where you live. You may come look at the truck if you wish. Thanks for reading and bidding. Good Luck

Dodge Durango SRT Pursuit packs the 797-horsepower Hellcat Redeye engine
Fri, May 3 2019When the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Trackhawk launched we were stunned that it featured both the 707-horsepower Hellcat engine and all-wheel drive. But SRT has one-upped itself with a custom Durango for the One Lap of America motorsports event. It's called the Dodge Durango SRT Pursuit — nicknamed "Speed Trap" — and it has the 797-horsepower Hellcat Redeye engine, and it still has all-wheel drive! Besides the 90-horsepower advantage over the stock Trackhawk, the Durango SRT Pursuit race SUV gets improved handling via concept lowering springs and 11-inch wide wheels with 305-mm wide tires that are shared with the Challenger Hellcat Widebody. It has improved stopping ability from 15.75-inch brake rotors up front with 6-piston calipers, and 13.78-inch rotors with four-piston calipers. This is the same kind of setup as the Trackhawk uses. Oddly enough, Dodge left the factory heated and cooled front seats, but removed the two rear rows of seats for weight savings. The Durango also gets a roll cage and racing harness. The finishing touches include a cat-back exhaust and the low-profile police light bar and paint scheme. Now before you ask, there don't appear to be plans to put a Redeye-powered Durango into production. With that being said, the company clearly has the capability to mate that engine to an all-wheel-drive system, and it would be hard to imagine the company not capitalizing on that. Even if the powertrain didn't make it to a Durango, it would seem like a great complement to the existing Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, or even an updated version of it. Hint, hint, wink, wink, FCA. Autoblog Podcast #317:
Towing with the 2016 Ram lineup [w/video]
Mon, Nov 2 2015I do not tow things. Ever. Yet I recently found myself at the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles proving grounds in Chelsea, MI, where I'd be testing the hauling capabilities of Ram's current product range. This experience was not only a perfect education for a towing novice like me, but allowed me to tow far more weight than I'd ever consider hauling the real world, and all within the safe confines of the Chelsea Proving Grounds. There was an extremely diverse array of vehicles at my disposal, including Ram's gasoline- and diesel-powered offerings with trucks ranging from the 1500 on up through the 5500 Chassis Cab, as well ProMaster vans. Beyond that, FCA brought out a number of vintage Dodge pickups for me to play with, while also working with Case IH to provide a track-loader I could test. I put together a range of videos covering everything from the classics to the production trucks to the construction equipment. And despite some technical difficulties – you'll notice a distinct lack of in-car videos, with blame going to a corrupted micro SD card – I've assembled ten videos that give an up-close look at Ram's offerings. 2015 Ram ProMaster City Let's start small. The ProMaster City only has a towing capacity of 2,000 pounds. That's a reasonably impressive figure for a van that uses the same powertrain as a Chrysler 200. The 2.4-liter four-cylinder and nine-speed automatic weren't really bothered with the extra weight added by the trailer. Even when accelerating at freeway speeds, the ProMaster City didn't feel out of breath or hampered by its load. That said, the rear of the van was unloaded, which probably wouldn't be the case for most consumers. It's unclear how the City would feel if its driver were taking advantage of the max payload (1,883 pounds) and towing. 2015 Ram ProMaster 1500 To be polite, the Ram ProMaster is a difficult vehicle to like. Its awkward seating position is bus-like and lacks the visibility enjoyed by the Ford Transit or the utter driving comfort of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. Its 3.0-liter, four-cylinder turbodiesel engine, meanwhile, is something of an anomaly. While it's potent for a four-cylinder diesel, producing 295 pound-feet of torque and 174 horsepower, those numbers don't feel all that impressive when loaded down. The model I tested was barely using half of its 5,100-pound maximum towing weight and was loaded down with just 500 of its 3,620-pound payload. Yet it lacked the pluckiness of the smaller City.
