Well Maintained 200k mi.  Cummins TurboDiesel 4x4 pickup.  All Stock and Completed.  This is one of the U.S.A. made trucks(NOT made in Mexico)and it shows down to the paint.  The diesel engine runs very well.  The pump hasn't been turned up.  I tried to get a picture of the the power screw with the factory collar still clamped on it.  It has very slight timing adjustment(so it idles a little higher) performed by Holden Brothers Diesel in Comfort, TX.  This was done just to help it do 65mph on the freeway a little easier.  The truck averages 20mpg.  It does't make any smoke, black or white.  The only modifications done are a K&N air filter(recently serviced) and a test pipe(or straight pipe, have you) in place of the muffler and capped off with a MagnaFlow exhaust tip.  The Rear Main Seal is new, as are the engine mounts.  The transmission mount has a poly bushings in place of the old rubber unit.  This emits noticeable vibrations through the cab.  The Automatic Transmission A518 has been well maintained and received servicing at ~150k mi.  and again recently at ~200k mi.  The bands were properly adjusted.  Filter and fluid were changed with AMSOIL.  It shifts perfect, when it should and shows NO signs of slippage or excessive wear.  The TPS works properly and is NOT over-ridden and hot wired to a toggle.  Even the underthehood light works.  The axles(Dana 60F, Dana 70 rear 3.54 LSD) fluid and transfer case(NP205) fluid were changed at ~130k mi.  The interior is in great condition.  All accessories work as they should, including:  map light over the Cummins message center, factor AM/FM Cassette(Yes, the tape player works so mp3's/i pods will work)and all 4 original speaker, gauge cluster and odometer, CRUISE CONTROL, and the A/C.  The headliner is new.  People often state they wouldn't hesitate to jump in their first Gen and drive across the country... Well I have twice, recently.  Within the past three months, I have driven this truck cross-country twice without any kind of an issue... other than having to pay for diesel and endure a kidney-rockin' ride.  The tires are over 80% and fairly new.  They are 265/75 16 General Grabber AT2's mounted on aluminum wheels 16x8.  This truck is a really nice example of a well presereved CTD 4x4.  Bynomeans is it perfect but at first glance or walking up on it, you might think so.  The steering is very tight and has no clanking or rattling.  There are no visible leaks on the truck.  Everything has always been serviced at appropriate intervals and wearable parts replaced soon as they wear-out or before.  I'm sure that I'm forgetting something so I will update the listing as I remember small details... the reason I am selling the truck is to finance the purchase of a Nice club cab 5spd for a little smoother ride and better gas mileage.  Thanks again for looking.

2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon First Drive | Don’t fear the Demon

Wed, Jul 19 2017

"If you're not hurt, we'll be really pissed. If you are hurt, we'll still be pissed, but not quite as pissed." These are the words from Jim Wilder, the vehicle development manager of the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, that echo through our head as we slide behind the wheel of the car for the first time. He was warning us about driving beyond our abilities, and keeping the car out of the wall. With 840 horsepower and 770 pound-feet of torque on tap from its supercharged, 6.7-liter V8, the Demon does 0-60 miles per hour in 2.3 seconds, and 0-30 mph in a second flat. If something does go wrong, it'll happen quickly. Following that talk, we had our guts sloshed as a passenger in a blurry eighth-mile run, giving us a taste of the G forces (the Demon can pull 1.8 G in a straight line) we'd feel when we got in the driver's seat for our own pass down the drag strip. We're already sweating. It had rained - you could describe it as torrential - the day before. The grassy parking areas surrounding Lucas Oil Raceway were still flooded, but any water on the pavement had evaporated and hung in the air. Combined with the heat, we were sticky and uncomfortable. In Drag Mode, the Dodge Demon's air conditioning turns off. Any condensation that it could leave on the track would be a problem, plus we need to reduce parasitic power losses for a faster run. The system is still working, though, the refrigerant diverted to the chiller system cooling the air coming into the engine. There's still condensation, but the Demon collects it on a catch pad to keep it from ending up on the pavement. We're also required to roll the windows up when entering the drag strip. For one thing, it helps keep the smoke out of the cabin during the pre-staging burnout. So, yeah, it's hot as Hell in the Demon. We pull through the water box and run through the sequence – which involves holding the "OK" button on the steering wheel usually used to navigate menus, and applying a specific amount of brake pressure before getting on the throttle to initiate the burnout. This gets any crud off the rear tires and heats up the rubber. There are multiple ways to launch the Demon. We had an instructor sitting in the passenger seat as we pulled up to the beams that trigger the Christmas tree at Lucas Oil Raceway. He walks us through the most complicated of the three he had explained to us just minutes before when we were in the passenger seat.

2015 Dodge Charger priced from $27,995, Hellcat from $63,995*

Sun, 19 Oct 2014

Ladies and gentlemen, let's get the most salient bit of information out of the way right off the bat: $63,995*. That's the amount of money Dodge dealers will be asking for (at the very least, naturally) for a 2015 Charger Hellcat (*plus $995 for destination on all pricing figures). That rather reasonable sum will bring home its buyer a 6.2-liter Hemi V8 engine boasting a supercharger to post such gaudy figures as 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, leading to a top speed of 204 miles per hour to go along with an NHRA-certified quarter-mile time of 11.0 seconds.
With that out of the way, the rest of the 2015 Dodge Charger pricing information breaks down as follows: $27,995 will deliver a sedan with a 292-horsepower 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Moving up one step of the ladder nets the buyer an SXT model with the same engine, but a nicer chunk of technology and optional equipment for a $2,000 premium. All-wheel drive adds another $3,000. Hemi V8-powered R/T models now boast an eight-speed transmission bolted to the same well-loved 370-horsepower engine as before, for a base price of $32,995.
The SRT 392 model that had hitherto been the top-performing Charger brings with it an asking price of $47,385 while bargain hunters can equip a Charger R/T Scat Pack machine with that same 485-horsepower 6.4-liter Hemi, albeit with somewhat less posh interior bits and pieces, the removal of the 392's adjustable suspension and hi-po wheel and tire package for $39,995.

Top horsepower-per-dollar cars in 2017

Tue, Feb 17 2015

Bang for the buck. That quasi-scientific statistic is bandied about by motor heads everywhere from classrooms to barrooms, though the truth of the matter is that it's exceedingly complex to measure. A fair performance-per-dollar index would include something like cross-referencing MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price) with point-to-point times on a track or driving route, which is obviously hard to do comprehensively. But, for the sheer joy of talking about cars and playing with a big spreadsheet, there's always the horsepower-per-dollar index, which is more straightforward, albeit hilariously flawed. There are vagaries even with this simple formula, of course: MSRP for vehicles can change at a moment's notice, to say nothing of the bottom-line shifting that happens with local deals or showroom negotiation. For this list we're running with the straight MSRP wherever possible, and as recently reported as we can get it. All the vehicles on this list are 2017 models, and all trims are reported where the lowest price and differing power levels intersect. Some choices were made for personal preference and some for sanity, avoiding things like all 48 trim levels of the Ford Transit, all with the same horsepower). If this list were a simple top ten, or even a top fifty, you'd be bored to tears with all the red, white and blue that is represented. Following perfectly with conventional wisdom, American cars really do lead the world where hp/$ is concerned. So, for the sake of variety (and the sheer joy of seeing a minivan 'win' one round of this thing) I've sorted out some top five and bottom five lists for broad power categories. Let's dive in. Less Than 100 Horsepower Okay, okay, this is hardly a category we'll grant you. But we've often tried to click off all the sub-100-hp cars on sale in the US, and making this list gave us an excuse. It also illustrates that none of these smallish vehicles bring cheap horsepower to the table - for that you'll need a motorcycle. The segment-leading Chevy Spark (above) asks just over $139 for each hp, and that Smart Fortwo Electric Drive has hp on sale for about the same price as its very distant family cousin, the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG (insert your favorite Smart joke here... we know you want to).
