I'M OFFERING THIS NICE 1972 DODGE DART SWINGER. IT FEATURES THE ORIGINAL SLANT 6 ENGINE, FACTORY AIR. AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AND MORE. THIS IS LITERALLY A BARN FIND, ONLY THIS CAR WAS FOUND ON 6/14/2013, IT WAS STARTED EASILY AND DRIVEN 40 MILES TO IT'S DESTINATION. THE ENGINE IS SMOOTH AND STRONG AND LEAKS NO OIL. THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS SMOOTHLY AND DOES NOT LEAK, IN FACT THERE ARE NO LEAKS ANYWHERE. THE UNDERCARRIGE HAS JUST SURFACE RUST, NO ROT. THESE CARS WERE FAMOUS FOR RUSTING AT THE BOTTOM CORNERS OF THE REAR WINDOW AND THE LOWER BACK OF THE REAR QUARTER PANELS. THIS CAR IS NO DIFFERENT ONLY THE AREAS HAVE BEEN REPAIRED. THE WORK ISN'T REAL BAD BUT WILL NEED FINE TUNING. THE REST OF THE CAR IS VERY SOLID. THE FRONT SEAT AND DASH BOTH HAVE ISSUES, CRACKED DASH IN A FEW AREAS AND SEVERAL SPLITS IN THE SEAT. THE REST OF THE INTERIOR LOOKS GOOD.

A PERSON CAN GO MANY WAYS WITH THIS CAR BE IT EITHER USING IT AS A DRIVER OR DOING A COMPLETE RESTORATION AS THE CAR IS COMPLETE. IT WOULS ALSO MAKE A COOL RESTO MOD.

THE GLASS IS ALL GOOD. EVERYTHING WORKS ON THIS CAR AND IF IT DOESN'T IT WILL BEFORE IT LEAVES HERE. IT WILL ALSO BE NYS INSPECTED. ALSO, BEFORE THE CAR LEAVES HERE IT WILL BE FULLY DETAILED.

THESE CARS ARE NOT NEARLY AS COMMON AS THE MUSTANGS, CAMAROS AND CHEVELLES OF THAT ERA. THESE SWINGERS ARE FAST BECOMING POPULAR AMONGST COLLECTORS.

Dodge unveils Special Service Durango for government fleets

Fri, 18 Oct 2013

Straight off its refresh, the Dodge Durango is slipping back into its dress blues and getting back to work. The 2014 Dodge Durango Special Service Vehicle boasts all the refinements and improvements that the refreshed, civilian-spec model received, most notably a 15-percent improvement in fuel economy.
Designed for police and fire departments, and as Chrysler's answer to the Ford Police Interceptor Utility and Chevrolet Tahoe PPV in the growing service SUV market, the Durango boasts a 600-mile range, thanks to the addition of an eight-speed automatic, available on both the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and 5.7-liter Hemi V8. Equipped with the 360-horsepower Hemi, the Durango SSV can tow up to 7,400 pounds (the V6 is limited to 6,200 pounds).
Police and fire department Durangos get a few special features over the civilian models. The electric systems are ruggedized, with a heavy duty battery and a 220-amp alternator in place, while the engine's water pump and oil cooler are both stronger. The brakes are tougher, and a load-leveling suspension has been fitted, too.

Chrysler readying Hellcat V8 with Viper-like power

Tue, 21 May 2013

A monstrous supercharged V8 engine could be in store for Chrysler and SRT products, if recent rumors are to be believed. Allpar is reporting that the forced-induction V8 - Chrysler's first, if this goes down - could make its debut this summer.
The story goes that the Hellcat would be based on a 6.2-liter Hemi engine, rather than on the existing 5.7- or 6.4-liter versions of the company's vaunted mill. In any case, the general consensus is that the motor will have gobs of power. Modest estimates call for between 500 to 570 horsepower, with some outliers predicting a figure as high as 600 hp. That figure would put the output would place the Hellcat awfully close to that of the 640-hp V10 in the SRT Viper, too. Allpar contends that a slightly lower powered version would allow Chrysler to keep costs below that of the more powerful Ford Shelby GT500, which might be a sweet spot.
The Hellcat could debut in a number of SRT products. SRT versions of the Charger, Challenger and 300 are all up for grabs, as is the rumored SRT Barracuda.

Chrysler killing off the 200 Convertible, Dodge Avenger

Sun, 23 Feb 2014

When Chrysler rolled out the first-generation 200 to replace the Sebring range in 2010, it included replacements for both the sedan and the convertible. The Sebring Coupe, however, was left out of the mix. And now that the second-generation Chrysler 200 is descending upon us, Auburn Hills is paring things down even further. But this time, it's the convertible that reportedly isn't making the cut. Shame, too, since the rendering above shows what could have been quite an attractive droptop.
As our compatriots at Edmunds point out, sales of the convertible model accounted for less than five percent of overall Chrysler 200 sales, and at those numbers, the considerable cost of engineering a new drop-top couldn't be justified. With the Toyota Camry Solara and Volkswagen Eos also gone from the market (well, the VW isn't gone quite yet), the discontinuation of the Chrysler 200 Convertible leaves the affordable convertible segment largely to the sportier likes of the Ford Mustang and Chevy Camaro and smaller European offerings like the Mini Cooper and VW Beetle.
The Chrysler 200 Convertible isn't the only derivative being left behind with the new model: so too is the Dodge Avenger. That will leave a glaring hole in the Dodge lineup, with nothing to bridge the gap between the compact Dart and the larger Charger. Whether the Dodge brand has any plans to replace the Avenger with another model, not to be based on the 200, remains to be seen.
