This 1995 Dakota is in incredible shape for its age. I purchased the vehicle just under two years ago with just 32K on the odometer. I purchased it off a man in his 90's who obviously loved it, and had lots of time to devote to it. This truck was garage kept, as is evident by the clear unfaded paint, the glossy finish on the fiberglass cap, and the flawless dash and unfaded interior. The carpeted floor mats are original. The drivers mat has a hole worn in the carpet, but I always used a rubber mat on the drivers side to keep things clean and dry. I kept the mats because they are part of the originality of the truck. The carpeting under the mats is in outstanding shape as is noted in the pictures.
Since my purchasing the truck I have replaced all four tires, four shocks, 2 ball joints, egr valve, and a new Mopar A/C clutch. When I purchased the truck, the stereo quit, so I replaced it with a Pioneer single CD unit, which came with a remote. I will be replacing the front and rear brakes prior to sale. The fronts are pulsing a bit, and the rears while in decent shape, appear to be original at this time. The only exterior flaw, is some paint peeling on the tailgate as can be seen in the pictures. This was fairly common on these years.
This truck in its current condition books for over $6,000 on KBB.com. And if you have done any shopping for a low mileage extended cab truck, you are well aware that a truck like this under 50K miles is a pricy truck at a dealer. While it has some years on its age, the truck is in like new condition, and I would not hesitate to leave on a 1000 mile trip in it tomorrow.
This has been a great truck for me. The items I replaced were as soon as I purchased the truck, since then it has been trouble free operation. I welcome any questions, picture requests, or third party inspections you may ask for.
This truck is for sale locally. As such, I reserve the right to end this auction early in the event of a local sale.

NHTSA investigating power modules on Chrysler Group SUVs and minivans
Mon, 29 Sep 2014The Center for Auto Safety is officially petitioning the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to begin scrutinizing alleged problems with the totally integrated power module (TIPM) on about 24 Chrysler Group SUVs and minivans. The advocacy group claims that the part's failure can cause affected vehicles to stall or not start at all. NHTSA is still looking into the accusations and deciding whether a full investigation is actually warranted.
The CAS petition claims at least 70 TIPM failures, but according to NHTSA, six of the complaints are for models that don't have the modules. In 34 of the reported cases, the vehicles refused to start, and in 17 of them the engine stalled. There were also two allegations of smoke and one of a fire. However, none of these affected airbag deployment or resulted in a crash.
This petition isn't the first TIPM-related problem for Chrysler Group. A recent report in the New York Times alleged that it found 240 complaints potentially related to the issue on NHTSA's website alone. In September, the automaker also recalled 230,760 examples worldwide (188,723 in the US) of the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango replace the fuel pump relay circuit inside of the TIPM-7 with one external to the unit. The original part could allegedly cause the models to stall without warning. Even earlier, the company also recalled about 80,000 examples of the Jeep Wrangler and Dodge Nitro in 2007 to have the module reprogrammed.
Dodge shows can-do attitude with grand Can'avan sculpture
Fri, 01 Nov 2013There are lots of ways to celebrate an important birthday, and all of them are well deserved. You can throw a big party, buy yourself something nice, or - if you're the altruistic type - do something for others in need. The latter is how Chrysler has opted to mark the 30th anniversary of its Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country.
Together with hunger-advocacy organization Canstruction, the Chrysler Foundation has built a full-scale replica of the Grand Caravan out of 30,000 food cans in the square at the corner of Yonge and Dundas in Toronto, a ways down the highway from where the real vans are built in Windsor. The sculpture was built over the course of 10 hours by 30 volunteers and was displayed earlier this week.
Now the installation is being taken down, and the cans of food are being donated to the Daily Bread Food Bank, which will assemble them into 2,000 food baskets to be distributed to those in need through its network of 200 food banks across the Canadian metropolis. Check out a neat time-lapse video of the build and the press release below.
Old vs. New: 2014 SRT Viper takes on upgraded 16-year-old Dodge Viper
Fri, 08 Feb 2013It's easy to play the "Would you rather have a New X or an Old Y with a bunch of upgrades?" game more often than we care to admit, but the crew at Car and Driver have taken bench racing to the next level with their latest video. In it, the magazine pits a brand-new 2014 SRT Viper against a highly modified 1997 Dodge Viper GTS. There are 16 years between the time this particular GTS rolled off the production line and when the new car bowed, but that doesn't mean the old snake's owners have been sitting on their hands.
Thanks to a spate of modifications, the GTS offers up a better power to weight ratio than the new machine, but is that enough to overcome the technological leap forward represented by the 2014 Viper? We won't spoil it for you. You'll just have to check out the full clip below for yourself.
