Car has all trim, certicard, build sheet, owners manual, and original October 1963 registration. Car does need normal mopar metal work, but is structurally solid. Four door hardtop version is fairly rare."

Hi, and thanks for looking! This auction is for a very rare 1964 Dodge Polara four door hardtop, the B body size, not the C body. This car is an original 71K mile survivor that I found back in 2011, brought home, and fixed up back to roadworthy condition. This car was originally from the Chuckey, TN area and was bought new at City Garage in Greenville, TN back in October 1963, making it 50 years old as of now. I have the certicard, original registration, owners manual, build sheet, warranty book, and a few registration cards going up to about 1981 when the original owner passed away and his widow had to transfer the title. I have not changed the look of the car from as found other than fix a broken windshield, drivers side window, and a set of dogdish hubcaps. The paint is the original white. Since I had two surgerys and then the birth of my baby I just don't have the money to put into fixing up the car any more than it is currently so I hope I can find it a good home. The car runs, drives, stops, and will go anywhere you want. I have fixed or replaced the following since I pulled it out of that field back in 2011:

New tires
14" Wheels sandblasted and repainted
All brakes replaced, shoes, cylinders, etc.
Conversion to dual master cylinder
Pertronix electronic ignition
Solid state voltage regulator
MSD coil
New belts and hoses
new turn signal flasher
new shocks
heater box sandblasted and rebuilt with all new stuff, new heater core.
floor patched with sheet tin under drivers feet - (cowl needs work)
new trunk floor - not installed
new fuel tank and sender
new fuel pump
Stromberg carb rebuilt.
new exhaust
radiator dipped, cleaned, and brackets fixed.
replaced upper door hinge on drivers door.
new windshield
new drivers side window (made new, no used ones ANYWHERE)
valves adjusted
new valve cover gaskets
new PCV

and probably more that I have forgot.

That's all the good stuff.
This is a fifty year old car that has never been restored. It needs some things done. The cowl needs rust repair over the drivers feet (common on this bodystyle), the floor needs work, (mostly just front), the trunk needs the new bottom put in, The bottom of the rear window and area round the corners of the front windshield and the bottoms of the fenders behind the rear tires need work. There is some dings and dents on the car as well, front passengers fender, some minor holes in the hood and fenders, but the basic frame and structure of the car is rock solid. I don't know how to weld very well and don't really have time to do those kinds of repairs anymore anyways. If you can do those things, this is the perfect project for you! It also needs the interior worked on, both seats are ripped, so is the headliner, the carpet is gone, the seatbelts are not attached and in bad shape anyways, the AM radio needs a new speaker (it just died a few weeks ago), a drivers side armrest, etc. Drivers side window does not line up with the back window just right.

BUT - it is a running, driving, inspected car and it is mechanically reliable, and it hasn't been hacked up or modded beyond just basic stuff.  You can stop by and test drive it, check it out, etc, just call 540-449-1667 and set up a time.

I will work with you on shipping but in my opinion you could just drive it home. It will do 65 on the interstate with no problem. The car is located in Radford, VA, zip code 24141 right off I-81 in the mountains of Virginia.

This is a reserve auction, but it is a reasonable reserve, just enough to keep my wife from beating me :)
This car is one of the few 64 dodges left in this part of the world, they are pretty much gone. I do know where a 330 sedan is in a local yard if you need parts.

Chrysler recalling 49K Chargers for headlight components

Fri, 14 Mar 2014

Chrysler has issued a recall for about 49,375 2011 and 2012 Dodge Chargers with halogen headlamps due to a problem with the lights. The automaker says that there could be an issue with the jumper harness and other related components.
The automaker says that 43,450 cars are affected in the US, 2,850 in Canada, 375 in Mexico and 2,700 outside of North America. The vehicles will have their headlight assemblies, including the jumper harnesses and bulbs, inspected and potentially replaced. Dodge says that its engineers investigated reports of that were similar to what was found when it recalled about 10,000 police Chargers in 2012 for overheating light components. There have been no injuries or accidents related to fault, according to Chrysler.
The automaker will be in contact with affected owners, and schedule the service. Naturally, any repairs will be free of charge. Scroll down for the company's full announcement.

SRT back to Dodge, Dart SRT, new Challenger, Charger and Caravan's death outlined in 5-yr plan

Tue, 06 May 2014

The onslaught of news from Fiat Chrysler's layout of five-year plans continued with Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis this morning, including the unexpected announcement that SRT was coming back into the fold.
After just a few years existing as an independent entity within the Fiat Chrysler universe, an unceremonious press release hit in conjunction with today's lineup of announcements, saying "the SRT family of vehicles will be consolidated under the Dodge brand." Group CEO Sergio Marchionne thanked SRT headman Ralph Gilles for his dedication to the high-performance wing, calling out is efforts in expanding the vehicle lineup and including more customized models. He did not reference disappointing SRT Viper sales today, but we sense there's a bit of subtext.
With the SRT reunion at Dodge, it's appropriate that some of the most exciting product announcements for the next five years have to do with upcoming performance products. First out of the gate will be a refresh for that flagging Viper in 2015, which comes as little surprise.

Are you the Dodge Dart SRT4?

Tue, 08 Jan 2013

Dodge has just confirmed that it will be bringing its newest Dart variant, the Dart GT, to Detroit next week, but we're still in the dark about when we'll see a truly hotted-up SRT4 version. But now, by way of the rumormill anyway, we've got at least one proposed, potentially Dodge-based rendering to light our way.
Seen here is what would appear to be a design sketch of the SRT4 Dart. Obviously the image that has surfaced is of rather low-resolution, but there's at least some evidence to support that it may be legitimate. In the original picture, one can just make out the name Tim Doyle in the lower right corner. As it turns out, Tim Doyle's name is also watermarked on the final design image for the 2011 Dodge Durango Citadel Black & Tan, a model that was shown at SEMA in 2010.
Of course, even if this really is the work of Doyle, there's nothing to say that this image isn't one of a great many potential looks for the future SRT4. In fact, the departure of the cross-hair grille from the Dodge's nose seems like it could be a hard sell, though we do, naturally, dig the sleek hood scoop and the bulked up wheel/tire combination.
