1971 Dodge Super Bee Charger 383 Superbee on 2040-cars
Edgar, Wisconsin, United States
|
Up for auction is my wife's 1971 Dodge Super Bee. The car runs and drives very well. I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. Numbers Matching with 2 build sheets (one is a little tattered) We have all paperwork from the day it was purchased in 1971. It includes all sale documents, through every yearly registration, receipts and maintenance records to the early 2000s. The stack of receipts is higher than two inches and has all the confirmed history you could want. Rust free Oklahoma car! Under carriage is beautiful. Car is it's original color EL5 "Butterscotch". Car was repainted very well at some point, it looks great with minor scratches and absolutely no bubbles. In the sun this car is brilliant and you will enjoy taking it to car shows just like we have. Interior- The seats are excellent! Soft and pliable ... perfect. Carpet is OK but could be replaced in the near future. Lower door panels are a little beat up and could use a repaint or replacement. Whichever you would like to do to your new car. Under the hood there are a couple scratches which I have taken a picture of. The car is 44 years old and does not come with a warranty. Winning bidder is responsible for transportation although I will help out in anyway possible. $500 payment is due within 24 hours through paypal. The balance I would like wired to my bank or cash in person. Obviously the car will not be taken out of my garage until payment has cleared. I would encourage you to come and check out the car anytime while bidding is open. I will be putting up more pictures at the end of the weekend. On Apr-26-14 at 09:51:38 PDT, seller added the following information: Just a heads-up. I did do a front disc brake conversion two years ago. I do still have the drums in my garage. Feel free to ask any questions you may have. Dennis On Apr-27-14 at 14:25:48 PDT, seller added the following information: Forgot yet another important detail. This is an AC car. Everything is there and was charged last year. The fan is not very powerful. The switch inside the car is not working, but it can be turned on and blows cold. Sorry for not posting this right away. Dennis On Apr-29-14 at 21:18:28 PDT, seller added the following information: This is so embarrassing. It was just brought to my attention by a bidder that my build sheets are off by 17 places. I never noticed the discrepancy until this evening. I don't know if this happens in many cars but it is definitely not for my car. The build sheets are for another EL5 car but it has a black vinyl top. I am an honest guy and I would not try to deceive anyone. I hope my fellow mopar enthusiasts understand and can maybe tell me if this has happened with other cars. That being said... This is still a numbers matching car that is a pleasure to drive. I still have a ton of paperwork and records that do have the right number on it. I will be adding pictures in a couple minutes. The ebay picture system is not allowing me to edit my pictures so I will try to override with photobucket. You might need to cut and paste. Sorry for the confussion and please feel free to email me with questions or ask for pictures. Dennis On Apr-29-14 at 21:22:09 PDT, seller added the following information: Pictures of vin, drivers side door, and tag! Just cut and paste. http://s1284.photobucket.com/user/bandman1971/library/?sort=3&page=1 |

Chrysler patents smarter minivan folding seats
Thu, 02 Jan 2014It's frightening to think of how quickly the mice would have overtaken us if we hadn't stayed one step ahead of them with better mousetraps. We'll never have to worry about that in our relentlessly re-engineered world, though. Case in point: Chrysler has been granted a patent by the US Patent and Trademark Office for an improved design of the already wondrous Stow 'n' Go seating found in the automaker's Town and Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans.
Introduced in 2005, the Stow 'n' Go was improved in 2008, and based on the drawings of this third-generation improvement, the new design appears to allow stowage of the second row of seats without having to move the front-row seats forward as much. It look like it also involves fewer operations and moving parts, with a portion of the seatback being incorporated into the flat floor when the seats are stowed, as opposed to having a completely separate cover.
It's possible that the innovation may appear on the next-generation minivans expected in 2015, but Chrysler isn't commenting on the patent.
CES 2022 was huge for EVs | Autoblog Podcast #711
Fri, Jan 7 2022In this episode of the Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Senior Editor, Green, John Beltz Snyder. CES took place this week, and there were some nice electric surprises from automakers, especially General Motors. John has been driving the Ram 1500 Power Wagon, as well as what seems to be its polar opposite, the electric Mini Cooper SE. Greg talks about the differences between the Acura TLX A-Spec long-termer (which is back in the shop) and the Type S loaner that's filling in for it. John's also got some interesting thoughts on leather interiors. Finally, the editors reach into the mailbag and help a repeat customer decide on a suitable replacement for a 2008 Lexus GX 470 in this week's Spend My Money segment.
