1968 Dodge Charge 383 Automatic A/c, Power Window on 2040-cars
South Jordan, Utah, United States
1968 Charger 383 automatic, power window car, A/C, I have this car in bare metal so you'll know exactly what you're buying beforehand. Rust and major damage has been repaired, and is ready for filler, primer and paint. Please contact me prior to delivery about epoxy priming the vehicle if you feel it is necessary. There is low mileage on the rebuilds of both the transmission and the engine. Runs, but the old dual point Mallory distributor needs points, and a tune up. The engine sounds very strong, and I can tell it has a mild cam in it. What I've tried to accomplish here, is to do all the work that the average car enthusiast doesn't know how to do - ie: sheet metal work, and let you take it from there. If you want me to take the car even further, I am certainly capable of any level of restoration that you desire. I can provide examples of past vehicles for your review. The right side quarter panel was replaced, by me, in a sympathetic manner. I don’t butcher sheet metal work! Every effort was taken to minimize distortion, maximize OEM appearance, and quality. I also replaced the panel below the rear bumper, and each corner piece. The left side quarter panel only needed small rust patches. The floor and subframe are in perfect condition, except for one patch I made in the driver’s side foot well. Prior to my ownership, the trunk floor had been replaced. The quality of the installation of the trunk floor is not as good as the metal work I did, but it is good enough for a driver. If you want me to replace the trunk floor in an OEM fashion the way the rest of the sheet metal is done, contact me for pricing. I don’t mind doing it before the car is delivered. Fender tag and build sheet are not with the car. I have spoken with a previous owner, and he put them in a “safe place” and can’t remember where they are. It is an original 383 VIN, and was quite obviously an A/C and power window car. I do have the history of 3 previous owners of the car if it is important to you. The car is mostly complete. A few boxes of parts, one extra door, and one extra deck lid come with the car. However, essentially, what you see is what you get. I have no keys for it, so you'll need a locksmith to make a set for it. Car comes with clear Utah title. . |

Dodge celebrates big B-day with 100th Anniversary Editions muscle cars
Wed, 20 Nov 2013Being in business for 100 years is a HUGE milestone, so we hope Dodge has more in mind to celebrate its centennial than just a special edition package for the 2014 Charger and Challenger. Called the 100th Anniversary Edition package, this collection of cosmetic enhancements will be available in limited quantities for both cars at a cost of $2,500.
Ordering a Charger or Challenger with the 100th Anniversary Edition package means starting with either a V6-powered SXT Plus or V8-powered R/T Plus model. They can each be ordered in many colors, but only the High-Octane Red Pearl Coat above is an anniversary exclusive. Each car also comes with an anniversary-exclusive set of 20-inch, five-spoke wheels with what Dodge calls "Granite Crystal pockets," a texture that's also mirrored on each car's grille.
Of course, there are commemorative badges galore affixed to the exterior of each car, including "Dodge Est. 1914" fender badges and "100" logos on the center caps of each wheel. The styling theme of each car's interior is a bit more interesting, with Dodge designers trying to evoke "the patina and machinist legacy of John and Horace Dodge," the company's founders. To that end, the leather interior can be had in Molten Red or Foundry Black Nappa, and each features a custom cloud overprint that makes the hide look like a working man's dirty dungarees. Designers also used brass-colored accent stitching on the interior's leather trim pieces, and affixed more "Dodge Est. 1914" badges to the front seat backs and floor mats. We do like the flat-bottomed steering wheel, and the Challenger 100th Anniversary Edition gets exclusive white gauges faces and the Charger black. The "100" on each car's speedometer is also highlighted in red.
2013 Dodge Dart GT
Mon, 16 Dec 2013My younger brother bought a Dodge Dart earlier this summer. It's a basic SXT, in Maximum Steel Metallic, with the 2.0-liter engine, a six-speed automatic transmission and not a whole lot else. Unfortunately, at the time, the Dart was one of the few cars in the compact class I'd never driven. I didn't know a lot about it, and therefore, didn't have a lot to say when he bought it. I think the words "based on an Alfa," popped out when I first saw it.
As it turns out, he's grown quite fond of the dark gray sedan, so it was with some degree of enthusiasm that I paid him a visit in this bright-orange Dart GT. I was excited to see what it was about the Dart that he enjoyed so much, despite my tester featuring a different engine, transmission and a lot more tech. After a week with the car, though, I must say: I don't quite see what all the fuss is about.

Dodge Scat Packages add Mopar performance upgrades in three stages
Wed, 06 Nov 2013Dodge has revealed what it calls Scat Package Stage Kits that enhance the performance of the Charger and the Challenger equipped with the 5.7-liter V8, and the Dart equipped with the turbocharged 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine. The Scat Packs use Mopar performance parts that also can be bought separately. Most of the upgrades increase engine output, but Dodge somehow manages to not specifically mention the power gains associated with each Scat Pack.
The three Scat Packs offered for the V8-powered cars focus on higher power ratings, and each stage comes complete with a unique engine-management calibration to optimize output. Stage one comes with a cold-air intake and a cat-back exhaust; stage two adds a performance camshaft; and stage three really gives you the goods, adding ported polished cylinder heads and performance headers.
For the Dart, the Scat Packs focus on engine, transmission, chassis and brake upgrades. Stage one will net you a cold-air intake, a short-throw shifter and slotted rotors with performance brake pads; stage two adds a cat-back exhaust system and an engine-management calibration to increase output by taking advantage of premium-octane gasoline; and stage three adds 13-inch vented brake discs up front clamped by four-piston calipers, suspension with adjustable springs and struts and performance front and rear antiroll bars.
