NOW.....for the ultra-cool retro additions....to pay tribute to the cool aspects of the '71 Cuda, I have added:  Shaker Hood System - fully functional w/HemiCuda emblems, 71-Cuda style Grille assembly painted body-color, custom finishes @ grille surround, Reproduction 71 Cuda Roadlamps w/dedicated switch, Appearance Hood Pins, Appearance 'fish gill' Fender vents, original 70's Mopar fender-mounted turn signals, custom short-throw Pistol Grip shifter with simulated wood inserts, custom-finish woodgrain Console top, custom-finish woodgrain instrument bezel, custom 70's Cuda-style gauges showing all necessary EVIC stats & 180mph speedometer but with the Cuda-style background on the gauges, custom yellow piping and steering wheel emblem, custom Cuda dash emblem, custom-designed 'Billboard' graphic with engine specification & custom YellowJacket logo paying homage to both eras, Chrysler pentastar emblem on lower fender, painted rocker panels, reproduction 70's Mopar chrome rocker mouldings, custom fuel cap emblem, 'Go-Wing'-style spoiler, original 71 Cuda taillights wired in fully functional including reverse lights, custom tailpanel with original Cuda tailpanel emblem, and finally....custom-built (and very costly) Polished racing wheels -18" fronts & 20" rears with custom-lettered Dunlop Sport Maxx tires with OEM TPMS sensors installed.

Style-wise - this 'tribute' came out better than anticipated.  Although not a professional/corporate build - I can guarantee you can still take it to car shows and walk away with trophies. I purchased this car in Palm Beach,FL and drove her back to OH - and it still smells new!  This is a personal-build, not done by a full-fab shop nor does it come as a 'kit', so please refrain from asking where I got the kit....or parts for that matter.  This is my brain-child and it is a just plain beautiful, menacing, unique, extreme rubberneck worthy bad-*ss vehicle.  It is the best of both worlds - all the performance and creature comforts of the new with all the cool retro aspects of the iconic 70's Cuda.  Dodge did the Challenger very well, but let's not forget the Cuda - this car will never be an actual Cuda and that it is why it is labeled as a tribute.  I did de-badge the car of all Dodge and 'ramhead' emblems and wanted to present it as an 'SRT'-type brand car so there wouldn't be a long drawn-out debate of a Dodge cant be a Cuda  and a Cuda has to be Plymouth, etc etc.  So, all the nay-sayers and purists can also hold their distain - I know it's a Dodge Challenger and will always be titled as such.  I love the Dodge Challenger, I love the Special editions including the YellowJacket, but I also love the Cuda concept added.  If this bothers you - I don't need schooling on why it's not a Plymouth, or what isnt correct about it.  I believe this is a pretty darn good nod to the Cuda, that is all.....

The paint is in great condition, body straight - no dings/dents - there was one ding on the front bumper corner that was repaired.  Interior is in showroom condition, no wear and as I said - still smells new!  The custom work didn't come with molds to make necessary parts nor did it come with fabrication instructions - there is no kit, expect some imperfections but none excessive or none that affect the overall cool appearance.  Car runs incredible, shifts perfect, sounds killer.  Everything works - even the custom options.

DO NOT miss out on this opportunity to own this one-of-a-kind - yes, there are some conversions out there (every one of them I've seen are only 5.7 R/T Hemi conversions...BUT, this is an SRT....and a 392 SRT....and a special edition to boot!!), but I spent alot of time, sweat equity and of course money putting this together.  Good Luck!

Will work with transporters to deliver to your door, and would be happy to work with exporters for International buyers.
This is an As-Is sale and it is a used car so there may be imperfections - any questions, please ask.  Serious buyers will have funds ready, so payment timelines will be adhered to.  Deposit is non-refundable - so please be prepared to complete the purchase.

Challenger A/T Unlimited Concept could be your next Hellcat-powered ORV

Fri, 29 Aug 2014

This past June I spent an excellent day hanging out with Joey Ruiter, driving and discussing his Reboot Buggy project. Before heading home, I let him know that he was more than welcome to keep me abreast of whichever new automotive project he'd get into. You can never have too many car designers and one-off fabricators in your Rolodex, right?
Ruiter recently made good with the follow-up, emailing me with details on this Dodge Challenger A/T Untamed Concept that pushes a lot of hot buttons for the muscle car and off-roading enthusiasts.
This all-terrain Mopar is a lot more than a Challenger body dropped on a truck chassis, too. A materialized version of the A/T would included a completely new, long-travel suspension, skid plates, body armor and rock sliders, and obviously flared fenders to help accommodate a hellacious set of off-road-ready tires. The dramatically revised underpinnings would be topped with a slick graphics package and a killer lower light bar, all making the A/T look quite cohesive in its own, radical way. And the result would be a car no longer limited to mere road-driving.

Dodge Charger Hellcat hitting 60 in 2.9 seconds on drag radials?

Thu, 02 Oct 2014

The Dodge boys and their cousins from SRT have shoehorned the same 707-horsepower, 6.2-liter supercharged V8 into both the Dodge Challenger and Charger. The former being a two-door, it's lighter than the latter four-door sedan. So it would stand to reason that the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat would be the quicker of the two, right?
Only that's not necessarily proving to be the case. On stock rubber, yes, the coupe beats the sedan: Dodge quotes a 0-60 time of 3.7 seconds for the Charger SRT Hellcat and 3.5 for the Challenger. Same gap across the quarter-mile: 11 seconds flat for the Charger versus 10.8 seconds for the Challenger. But according to recent reports, the story changes when you put both on drag radials.
While visiting Chrysler HQ in Auburn Hills, MI, TorqueNews.com caught wind of performance figures for the Charger Hellcat on drag tires: 0-60 in a mind-blowing 2.9 seconds and a quarter-mile in just 10.7. The latter figure just barely pips the Hellcat-powered Challenger's NHRA-certified figure of 10.8, making the Charger not only the fastest sedan on the market, but also the fastest muscle car. What isn't immediately clear, however, is whether the drag radials in question have any tread on them and are street-legal, or if they're pure slicks confined to a closed strip.

Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
