1971 DATSUN 240Z JTR Legendary Datsun coupe with potent v8 power. California car with clean title, and single owner since the late 80s. Proper JTR conversion utilizing a Chevy 350 small block with 700r4 transmission. The engine has roughly 10K miles since rebuild and installed, the 700r4 has about 1000 miles since rebuilt. Aluminum head, Edlebrock 4v carburetor, lightweight starter, and more. The front brakes have just been converted to a 2 piston caliper disk brakes (Tacoma), and slotted rotors, completely brand new. Drum rear brakes have also been serviced. Beastly V8 works excellent with recent tune up, no overheating issues, and good compression. All gauges work including speedometer, tech, fuel, temp, and volt. Seats have been upgraded to Acura seats, and door panels refinished. Lap seat belts and shoulder belts. Headliner is excellent, new dash cap, and brand new carpet. This California car is very dry with solid floors, rust-free trunk and everywhere else the Z cars are prone to rust. Single custom exhaust installed and sounds great! All lights and turn signals work. New battery has been repositioned in the engine bay, but battery terminals are available in the trunk. (for even weight distribution). The paint is older, showing some wear around the edges, and a few bubbles on the door bottom. Paint looks great from 10 feet, and is definitely "driver" condition. Chrome bumpers are like new. Wheels show curb rub, but tires have lots of tread left. Lots of receipts throughout the years of service and upgrades! Excellent early Z driver with lots of power! Meet the man who took a year sabbatical to drive his 1967 Datsun Fairlady Roadster
Tue, 28 Jan 2014A quiet drive in the country can be the most relaxing thing in the world. What if it didn't have to end, and you could keep driving for a week, a month or even a whole year? That's what Scott Fisher is doing by taking a one-year sabbatical from work and driving his 1967 Datsun Fairlady Roadster around North America.
"I had owned a manufacturing business in Las Vegas for 16 years. I knew I needed to kinda' get out, and unwind, and get my mojo back," said Fisher.
Fisher's trip has covered over 30,000 miles through 44 states and 7 Canadian Provinces, and it is not over yet. He left from his home in Las Vegas, NV, last spring and drove to the Pacific. From there, he drove up the coast to the Canadian border and aimed the car for the Atlantic. He just posted on his blog about visiting the Nissan headquarters and museum in Franklin, TN, and his next stops are Mississippi and New Orleans, LA.
Malaise Era All-Stars

Subaru Legacy pitted against Roadkill project cars
Fri, 05 Sep 2014There's an evergreen debate among auto enthusiasts about whether they would prefer to have the latest and greatest car of today or a certified classic from yesteryear. What if you had to further define that, though, and the choice was between a brand new 2015 Subaru Legacy or a turbocharged Datsun 240Z with a hatch that wouldn't close? Roadkill aimed to find out that and more in one of its best videos to date.
According to the hosts, Subaru came to them, handed over some money and challenged Roadkill's project cars against its latest Legacy. The result is every bit as good (or better) than any automotive-themed show you could find on television.
Things start simple with a figure-eight race in a rodeo arena with the Subaru taking on Roadkill's 1968 Ford Ranchero, originally built for ice racing. From there the Legacy races a 1968 Dodge Charger with no windows around and off-road rally stage. Finally, the Subie goes head-to-head against the Rotsun, the aforementioned turbocharged 240Z, through an abandoned neighborhood. Plus, there's a bonus drag race challenging them all.
