Fun in the sun this spring and summer!!!

Hi, up for sale is my 2004 Chrysler Sebring GTC Convertible.  Silver metallic paint with dark grey cloth interior and black top in very good condition, very clean.  The GTC model comes with carbon fiber looking dash trim; it’s a nice look, very sporty.  117xxx miles, very powerful yet economic motor, 2.7L V6, 200 hp @ 5800 rpm and 190 ft-lbs of torque @ 4850 rpm.  With great fuel economy up to 20 MPG in the city and 27 MPG on the highway. The front end and steering are tight, the throttle response is immediate. Clean title with registration good till November.

This car is in great condition!  It’s stock other than the wheels and tires and never been abused, owned by an adult.  I’ve taken very good care of it. It car hasn't nickel-ed or dimmed me to death, in any way shape or form.  Never left me stranded anywhere, has not been on the back of a tow truck since I've owned it. Runs and handles GREAT!!!  Fun and comfortable to DRIVE!!!

I recently purchased a four door car, which I needed due to having grandchildren now.

Can't afford to have two cars, or I would definitely keep it.:-)  It's a sweet ride!!!

Chrysler Q3 profits surge to $611M but per-unit profits trouble

Thu, 06 Nov 2014

Chrysler Group has announced its third-quarter financial results a little later than its crosstown rivals at General Motors and Ford, but the company has reason to celebrate thanks to strong numbers across the board.
The biggest attention-grabber from the automaker is that its net income was up 32 percent in the third quarter to $611 million, compared to $464 million over the same period last year. Modified operating profit was also strong at $946 million - a 10 percent gain. Furthermore, net revenue grew as well to $20.7 billion - 18 percent higher Q3 2013.
Growing sales pushed the strong financials. Chrysler Group sold about 711,000 vehicles worldwide for the quarter, up 18 percent from a year ago. Things looked especially good in the US, where its market share grew to 12.3 percent, versus 11.2 percent in Q3 2013.

This forgotten Chrysler was its bid for Humvee contract

Wed, 27 Aug 2014

Today, the Humvee might be as associated with the dead automotive brand from General Motors as it is with the hard-working truck that has long served as one of the backbone vehicles of America's military. But Autoline host John McElroy is showing off a practically unknown part of the model's story by digging out some old photos from his personal archive.
The High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle project, better known today as the Humvee, can be traced back to a US Department of Defense request for bids to build a new military truck. According to McElroy, he was invited to the Chrysler proving grounds in 1981 to check out the bid from the brand's defense division. The company's concept was that it might be able to build an inexpensive, capable vehicle by using off-the-shelf parts.
The angular body panels gave the truck a look almost like a modern, stealth vehicle. However, the flat look was actually just to make the tooling as cheap as possible to produce. Still, this Chrysler looked surprisingly futuristic for the early '80s. It's actually not too far away from the famous Lamborghini LM002, itself intended as a possible military-spec machine.

Detroit Three autoworkers could get huge bonuses

Mon, 06 Jan 2014

For a long time, being a line worker for one of the Detroit Three has meant living with an uncertain future. With the health of American automakers on the rise, though, things are also starting to look up for the men and women building the cars. The latest sign that things aren't bad? Big profit-sharing checks.
According to The Detroit News, Ford, General Motors and Chrysler could end up paying over $800 million to 130,000 workers as part of a profit-sharing plan. According to The News, the economic impact of these profits in Michigan alone could exceed $400 million, besting the NFL's Super Bowl, MLB's All-Star Game and the NHL's Winter Classic for their economic impact.
This is the third straight year the Detroit Three have issued profit-sharing checks to UAW employees, and for many workers, the checks are as close as they'll get to a raise, due to the most recent contract between the union and the manufacturers. On average, employees at GM and Ford receive $1 for every $1 million in North American (not just the US) pre-tax profits. Chrysler, meanwhile, gets a similar deal, although the Auburn Hills-based company calculates profit sharing using 85 percent of the brand's global profits.
