I HAVE DECIDED TO "BITE THE BULLET" AND SELL OFF A FEW OF MY CARS AND PURCHASE A BRAND NEW VEHICLE.  I ALSO HAVE A JEEP WRANGLER THAT I WILL BE PUTTING UP FOR SALE ON EBAY AS WELL.  THIS WAS A 3RD VEHICLE THAT I OWNED AND WAS USED AS A PROMOTIONAL VEHICLE FOR A BUSINESS I OWN.  IT HAD BEEN WRAPPED AND JUST DRIVEN AROUND LOCALLY.  I PURCHASED IT FROM A NAVY PERSON ON NOVEMBER 27, 2013 AND RECEIVED EXTENSIVE SERVICE RECORDS WITH IT.  ITS A 2003 CHRYSLER PT CRUISER GT TURBO WITH THE 2.4L ENGINE AND HAS 215 HORSEPOWER AND PRODUCES 245 lb-ft OF TORQUE AT A LOW 3,600 rpm, WITH MORE THAN 90 % OF PEAK TORQUE from 2300 to 5000 rpm. IT HAS A 4 SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WITH THE AUTOSTICK OPTION.  AS FAR AS I CAN TELL, IT IS FULLY LOADED WITH EVERY AVAILABLE OPTION THAT CAME ON THE GT TURBO MODELS.  IT HAS 177,311 MILES (might get slightly higher as I still drive it) AND RUNS GREAT, AND LOOKS GREAT AND YOU WOULD NEVER KNOW IT HAS THE HIGH MILEAGE BY LOOKING AT IT, OR DRIVING IT.  ITS ELECTRIC BLUE, AND HAS BLACK LEATHER INTERIOR, TINTED WINDOWS, POWER MOON ROOF, CRUISE CONTROL, FACTORY CD PLAYER, HEATED FRONT SEATS, POWER EVERYTHING, A/C, TRACTION CONTROL, TURBO, 17 INCH CHROME RIMS WITH EXCELLENT TIRES.  THE BODY IS IN GREAT SHAPE WITH NO DENTS AND JUST HAS THE USUAL SCRATCHES THAT WOULD BE EXPECTED FROM DAY TO DAY DRIVING OF THIS YEAR AND MILEAGE.  THE PAINT LOOKS GREAT, AND I DID RUN A REPORT ON IT BEFORE I BOUGHT IT (i will provide it to the winner), AND IT CAME UP CLEAN WITH NO ISSUES.  THE LEATHER INTERIOR IS IN GREAT CONDITION WITH NO TEARS, ALL 4 HEADRESTS ARE INCLUDED. NO CRACKS IN THE DASH, ALL THE ORIGINAL MATS ARE THERE AS WELL.  THIS WOULD MAKE A GREAT FIRST CAR OR TOY CAR.

ALL GT TURBO MODELS COME WITH THE FOLLOWING OPTIONS TO SEPERATE IT FROM THE STANDARD PT CRUISER:

the PT Turbo standard features included:

- Performance 4-wheel disc brakes and ABS with traction control
- 17" Blade CHROME 5-spoke cast aluminum wheels
- P205/50HR17 all-season performance tires
- Body-color monotone front fascia with larger, lower openings
- Body-color monotone rear fascia with larger exhaust opening
- Large diameter chrome exhaust tip
- Body-color bodyside moldings
- "GT" badge on left liftgate, "2.4L TURBO" badge on right liftgate
- Performance front seats with unique LEATHER interior
- Driver seat manual lumbar adjuster
- Silver-faced cluster gauges with 140 mph speedometer "2.4L Turbo" badging
- Unique instrument panel accents
- "GT" embroidered front floor mats

FROM THE RECEIPTS THAT CAME WITH IT, IT WAS CLEAR IT HAD ALL ITS REGULAR MAINTENENCE DONE AND I WILL PROVIDE THOSE TO THE WINNER.  I ALSO DID A TON OF WORK TO THE CAR AS WELL AS PERFORMANCE UPGRADES WHEN I BOUGHT IT.  THIS IS A LIST OF THE PARTS I HAVE BOUGHT AND HAD INSTALLED, AND I WILL PROVIDE RECEIPTS FOR THIS WORK AS WELL:

NEW REAR HATCH LIFTGATE STRUTS $37.00

NEW GOODYEAR BLUE RADIATOR/HEATER HOSES $42.00

MOPAR SPARK PLUG WIRE SET $37.94

MOPAR PLUGS $20.12

TIMING BELT KIT (CONSISTING OF 1 TIMING BELT (146 teeth), TENSIONER, IDLER BEARING, WATER PUMP, WATER PUMP GASKET) $132.55

THERMOSTAT, GASKET, SERPENTINE BELT, VALVE COVER GASKET $54.53

HEARTHROB 2.5" CAT-BACK DUAL EXHAUST SYSTEM $359.52

EIBACH PRO-KIT 2" LOWERING SPRINGS $200.00

ON 12/10/2013 I HAD MY MECHANIC INSTALL THE FOLLOWING PARTS: WIRES/PLUGS, OIL/OIL FILTER, VALVE COVER GASKET, EIBACH SPRINGS, DUAL EXHAUST SYSTEM, TIMING BELT KIT, A/C SYSTEM SERVICE, AND THE TOTAL BILL FOR THE LABOR ALONE WAS $1,104.92 (RECEIPT WILL BE PROVIDED).

ON 4/7/2014 I HAD THE FOLLOWING WORK PERFORMED: BRAND NEW FRONT LEFT & RIGHT CALIPERS WITH NEW HARDWARE, FRONT LEFT & RIGHT ROTORS, FRONT LEFT & RIGHT BRAKE PADS AND THE TOTAL BILL FOR PARTS/LABOR WAS $572.74 (RECEIPT WILL BE PROVIDED)

Some recent repairs that were performed prior to me buying the care were:

ON 6/29/2013 REPLACED ENGINE MOUNT & A/C SUCTION LINE.  THE TOTAL BILL WITH LABOR WAS $414.98 (receipt will be provided)

ON 8/03/2013 REPLACED 2 NEW FRONT TIRES, MOUNTING & BALANCE.  THE TOTAL BILL WITH LABOR WAS $235.23 (receipt will be provided)

ON 8/03/2013 REPLACED SWAY BAR LINK, LOWER CONTROL ARM R/S, TRANSFILTER KIT, STEERING PRESSURE SWITCH & ATF+4 FLUID.  THE TOTAL BILL WITH LABOR WAS $329.33.  (receipt will be provided)

THE CARS RUNS GREAT, HAS GREAT PICK-UP WITH THE TURBO AND STOPS PERFECT.  IT LOOKS GOOD WITH THE LOWERED STANCE, THE SPRINGS GIVE IT A NICE TOUGH CLEAN LOOK, AND THE DUAL EXHAUST LOOKS GREAT FROM THE REAR WITH A NICE LITTLE RUMBLE.  I HAVE NOT HAD ANY ISSUES WITH THE CAR AND DRIVE IT WITH MY WIFE AND KIDS WITH NO CONCERNS.  I HAVE NOT HAD IT VERY LONG SO I CAN ONLY GIVE YOU DETAILS OF THE HISTORY WHILE I HAVE OWNED IT, BUT FROM LOOKING AT ALL THE PRIOR RECEIPTS IT WAS WELL TAKEN CARE OF.

IN MY OPINION, THE ONLY THING IT MIGHT POSSIBLY NEED IS MAYBE SHOCKS AT SOME POINT.  THEY SEEM FINE, BUT ALL OF MY OTHER VEHICLES HAVE LIFT KITS IN THEM AND THIS IS THE FIRST CAR I HAVE PUT LOWERING SPRINGS IN YEARS, SO IM NOT USED TO BEING SO LOW TO THE GROUND, SO ITS HARD TO TELL.

DUE TO THE AGE AND MILEAGE, IT WILL BE SOLD IN AS/IS CONDITION WITH NO WARRANTY OFFERED.  IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS FEEL FREE TO EMAIL ME AND I WILL GET RIGHT BACK TO YOU.  IF YOU ARE LOCAL, YOU ARE MORE THAN WELCOME TO COME BY AND SEE IT AND BRING A MECHANIC IF YOU WOULD LIKE.  I HAVE PERFECT FEEDBACK ON EBAY AND HAVE SOLD NUMEROUS CARS OF MINE WITH NO TROUBLE, SO I ENCOURAGE YOU TO CONTACT ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS, BIG OR SMALL.

THE $500.00 NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT IS DUE AT CLOSE OF AUCTION VIA PAYPAL WITH THE REMAINING BALANCE DUE WITHIN 48 HOURS UNLESS OTHER ARRANGEMENTS ARE MADE.

I WILL NOT SHIP THE VEHICLE, BUT WILL ASSIST THE BUYER IN ANY WAY I CAN.

Fiat-Chrysler alliance in jeopardy due to Pentastar's IPO filing?

Thu, 26 Sep 2013

The four-year relationship between Fiat and Chrysler has thus far been beneficial for both automakers, but it has also proven to be a complicated battle between Sergio Marchionne and the United Auto Workers - the latter controlling the remaining 41.5 percent of Chrysler. With the recent filing for a US IPO, it looks like Marchionne and the UAW appear to be playing a billion-dollar game of chicken, with both sides far apart on how much the union's shares are worth. If it comes down to Chrysler's remaining stake being publicly traded, it could act to drive a wedge between the two companies.
According to Bloomberg, Fiat's chairman John Elkann says "if the IPO will take place, there will be two companies, and that's different than having a single one." Now, we're not great at math, but this sounds like the complete opposite of the full merger that Marchionne has been pushing for since taking the helm at Chrysler. Bloomberg notes that the UAW's shares should be worth around $5.6 billion, but Fiat could end up paying as little as $4.9 billion for Fiat to gain full control of Chrysler. A story by The Detroit News points out that Marchionne's "alleged low-balling" is just the latest hurdle the Auburn Hills-based automaker must overcome as its ownership is being fought over for the fourth time in 15 years.

Marchionne to take his sweater and go home after 2018

Wed, 08 Oct 2014

The end is in sight for Fiat Chrysler boss Sergio Marchionne, who confirmed in an interview with Bloomberg that once FCA's sweeping five-year plan is completed, he'd be stepping down from his post to "undoubtedly" do something else that didn't involve turning around global corporations. That would mean he should finish up after 2018 if all goes according to plan.
"It's as important to walk away from the table as it is to sit down," Marchionne told Bloomberg.
Marchionne has been at Fiat since June of 2004 and is one of the chief architects behind the Italian company's acquisition of Chrysler. Despite his successes, he does sound quite ready to move beyond the auto industry, rhetorically asking his Bloomberg interviewers if there "are other things I like to do apart from this?"

Chrysler 200 prototype spied for first time with new body

Tue, 17 Sep 2013

Chrysler is deep into testing for its next-generation 200 sedan, a new model that is utterly essential to the brand's continued health. The next iteration is tasked with wiping away anything reminiscent of the Sebring, which the current 200 is still based on. According to our spy, this is one of the first of the new 200s to wear a production body rather than the Alfa Romeo Giulietta-based mules that are thick on the ground in Auburn Hills.
Immediately apparent is that the new 200 ditches the awkwardly styled C-pillar that's typified four-door 200 sedans (and Sebrings before them) for years. The new, sleeker roofline is almost more of a four-door coupe than a traditional sedan, which hints that this new car will try to be more fashion-forward than its predecessor. The rear deck is set off by a sporty decklid spoiler, while a set of staggered rectangular exhaust pipes poke out of the bumper.
The front end appears sleeker, and we'd be lying if we didn't spy a bit of Dart through the camouflage, particularly with the headlights. A large, gaping lower air intake is visible, although our spy seems to think it'll shrink before production models debut. Whatever the new 200 ends up looking like, we expect to see a lot more of its styling from Chrysler in the coming years.
