The 2008 Chevrolet TrailBlazer seemingly provides something for everyone. All trim levels provide a comfortable ride for five passengers, good towing capability, and ample cargo space.There are two trim levels available: LT and the SS. The LT trims come standard with a 4.2L inline six-cylinder engine that makes a healthy 285 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 277 ft-lbs of torque at 4600 rpm. The optional 5.3L V8 engine is available and makes 300 horsepower at 5300 rpm and 321 ft-lbs of torque at 4000 rpm. The SS TrailBlazer includes a sport-tuned suspension, 20-inch alloy wheels, heavy duty front disc brakes, a limited-slip rear differential, quicker ratio steering.These enhancements create an aggressive look outside and some serious acceleration with sub six second 0-60 mph times. Power reaches 390 horsepower 6000 rpm and 400 ft-lbs of torque at 4000 rpm.Notable options on all trim levels include a rear seat DVD entertainment system, Bose premium speaker system and power sunroof.At less than $28,000 the 2WD LS offers impressive standard equipment for the price.

Chevy gets cracking on Cruze EV fleet testing

The Chevrolet Volt hasn't yet gone on sale, but General Motors is looking at ways of expanding its electric vehicle lineup. Chevy, along with partner LG, is employing a group of all-electric cars in the form of the Cruze. The sedans are part of a demonstration fleet which is located in Seoul, South Korea and is being used to provide data in an electric vehicle research project. The goal is to gather information on driving patterns and charging behavior in addition to consumer acceptance.
The Cruze EVs, along with some Daewoo Lacetti Premieres EVs, are the first fleet of full-size electric vehicles and should provide invaluable information for The General. Staying full-size means not sacrificing cargo space, so the battery pack is mounted to the underbody, leaving the trunk area open for plenty recyclable, canvas grocery bags.
2014 Chevrolet SS makes its live debut
Sat, 16 Feb 2013Chevrolet showed off the new 2014 SS in an airport hangar last night, its first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan in the US since the Impala SS from 1997. We'll have more to say about the SS later today, but this is the sedan that Chevrolet sees as the final piece in restoring its performance credentials. For those of you looking for a manual transmission, however, that wish will go unfulfilled - at least for now: the only two options buyers will have are the color and whether or not they want a sunroof.
We'll work on getting some more angles (in better light) today at Daytona International Speedway, but with fans seeing the car for the first time, we don't hold out much luck of getting a clear shot. So for now, enjoy the high-res gallery above.
Chevy Camaro is a good sport, wishes Ford Mustang Happy 50th
Tue, 15 Apr 2014It was 1966 when Chevrolet launched its challenger to the wildly successful Ford Mustang, the Camaro. While the competition between the two brands was already healthy, the arrival of the Camaro set off one of the most intense, model-to-model rivalries in the industry.
That competitive spirit hasn't stopped Chevy and the Camaro from wishing Ford's iconic muscle car a Happy 50th Birthday as the Ford's April 17 anniversary rolls around. These two cars have been linked over the years, and while the rivalry took a break for a few years in the 2000s, today's competition between the Camaro and Mustang is as fierce as it's ever been.
You might recall that this friendliness when it comes to major milestones isn't too rare. Ford put on quite a display for General Motors' hundredth anniversary back in 2008. As the Camaro's fiftieth birthday approaches in 2016, we wouldn't be surprised to see the Mustang sending its best wishes to its Bowtie rival.
