I am selling my 1999 Chevy Tahoe. It has a lot of upgrades over the typical Chevy Tahoe that you will see out there or on Ebay.  I am selling it due to the fact that I had originally planned to give it to my younger brother, but he has since decided he wants something with two doors.  I have two other 4 wheel drives and do not really need this taking up space in my driveway.  This being said I will not give the truck away as it runs like a top.

Within the last 1500 miles it has had the following services performed.  The 17 Chrome inch wheels/ tires have approximately 5000 miles on them and are from a 2008 Silverado.

The 4 wheel drive system on this thing is amazing and it loves to cut thru snow.

I am very anal about my vehicles and am a fanatic as far as maintenance is concerned.   I have also removed the AC compressor and have replaced it with an AC bypass pulley.

  1. New Water Pump
  2. New Intake Gaskets
  3. New Radiator
  4. Radiator Cap
  5. Thermostat
  6. Upper and Lower Radiator Hoses
  7. Serpentine Belt and Tensioner and Idler Pulleys
  8. Cap / Rotor / Plugs and Wires
  9. Fan Blower Motor
  10. Front and Rear Differential Fluid Changed
  11. Oil Change – K&N Filter with Castrol Synthetic Blend
  12. Trans Fluid Flushed
  13. Advanced Auto Gold Battery
  14. New Wiper Blades

The Tahoe has the following upgrades.

  1. Dashmat Custom Dash Carpet
  2. Smittybuilt Taillight Guards
  3. Go Rhino Wrap Around Front Brush guard with KC Lights
  4. I have a set of 16 inch Chrome Wheels and Goodyear Off Road Tires with 3/4 tread – un-mounted.
  5. Vent Visors Window Visors
  6. Tow Package / Wiring
  7. Windows Tinted
  8. Dickies Canvas Seat Covers (Front Seats) and Heavy duty floor mats
  9. Wired for XM Radio

The vehicle has marks, scratches, and dings consistent with that of a 15 year old SUV.  The leather interior has marks and scuffs on it consistent with age.  This vehicle still cleans up very nicely and can be driving anywhere without issue.

The trim on the right left rear barn door is missing.  The driver’s side heated does not work and the power locks do not like to lock the doors all the time.

The vehicle has a clean and Clear Delaware and has 1.5 years left on the registration.

I am asking $ 3700 OBO for this vehicle.  I want a $ 500 non-refundable deposit  via Paypal within 48 hours of the auction ending.

I have sold vehicles in the past on Ebay, and I can assist with shipping if needed.

I can be reached via phone or text at 302-270-4984 with any questions.

10 of 18 midsize SUVs earn 'good' IIHS side impact safety rating

Wed, May 18 2022

It's not terribly surprising that midsize SUVs earned better safety ratings than small SUVs in the latest side-impact tests performed by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Just how much better they scored, on the other hand, certainly raises an eyebrow. Ten out of 18 midsize SUVs earned the highest rating of 'good' in the stringent new test, altered for vehicles starting with the 2020 model year with a heavier barrier (4,200 pounds) that moves at a higher speed (37 miles per hour) and is fitted with a hard honeycomb frontal structure. By way of contrast, just one out of of 20 small SUVs earned a 'good' score.  SUVs that receiving 'good' scores were the Ford Explorer, Infiniti QX60, Lincoln Aviator, Mazda CX-9, Nissan Pathfinder, Subaru Ascent, Toyota Highlander, Volkswagen Atlas, Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport and Volkswagen ID.4. For EV fans, it's worth noting the ID.4 was the only electric vehicle included in the test. The Buick Enclave and Chevrolet Traverse scraped away with 'acceptable' ratings while the Honda Passport, Honda Pilot, Hyundai Palisade, Jeep Wrangler 4-door, Kia Telluride and Nissan Murano were deemed merely 'marginal' in the tough new test. Only two models — the Mazda CX-9 and Volkswagen ID.4 — earned a "Good" rating in every test category.  Interestingly, the Jeep Wrangler would have scored a 'good' rating if it were equipped with side airbags for the rear seating positions. It would likely be an engineering challenge to equip its removable top and/or doors with airbags, but the lack of that safety feature allowed the head of the rear passenger dummy to hit the vertical support of the top. Otherwise, the Wrangler scored good ratings across the board. The new Ford Bronco, which makes more allowances for side-impact safety, has not yet been tested.  The popular Hyundai Palisade and Kia Telluride SUVs stand out in the test with 'poor' ratings for driver pelvis injuries. The Nissan Murano, a vehicle last redesigned for the 2015 model year, was the only vehicle tested that received a 'poor' rating for its structure and safety cage. Videos of the tests of 12 of these 18 SUVs can be found on the IIHS' YouTube page. 2016 Lamborghini Huracan at the Horse Thief Mile | AutoblogVR

Tue, Sep 13 2016

AutoblogVR returns to the Horse Thief Mile in the Mojave Desert to put the Lamborghini Huracan to the test. It's everything we want a modern supercar to be: Powerful, striking in appearance, and a riot to drive. But does it live up to Lamborghini's unique performance heritage? Senior Editor Greg Migliore reviews the Huracan on Horse Thief's unyielding curves and elevation changes to find out. Meanwhile, Autoblog Editor-in-Chief Mike Austin reviews a different kind of performance car – the Chevy SS at the IndyCar circuit on Detroit's Belle Isle. He's ably assisted by ace driver Simon Pagenaud. You must watch his hot lap! The SS is old-school V8 American muscle wrapped in Australian design and engineering. This AutoblogVR segment also launches on the app Sept. 13, and the teaser follows the Huracan preview above. Each week, new episodes will launch on the AutoblogVR App. We'll preview them here on Autoblog, but for the full immersive experience, head over to the app, which you can download for free from the App store and Google Play. Be sure to try it with a cardboard viewer, too!

Performance cars overpower the Detroit Auto Show

Tue, Jan 13 2015

At precisely the stroke of noon on Monday, the 2016 Acura NSX rolled on stage at the Detroit Auto Show amid plumes of smoke and dancing lights. The sounds of the powerful engine revving soared to the rafters. It was the second coming of Acura's iconic sports car, and the reveal had all of the expected trappings. Afterwards, champagne corks popped and the bubbly flowed. It was noon in Detroit, but for the green-car movement, it seemed like the clock had struck midnight. That's an exaggeration, but performance was the overwhelming theme of North America's most important show. Ford – which has helped lead the way in smaller displacement engines and early adoption of hybrid powertrains – had more than 1,500 horsepower on stage one point after it revealed the GT concept, the new F-150 Raptor and the Shelby Mustang GT350R. The NSX is technically a hybrid (it has three electric motors), but with 550-plus hp, there's no doubt this Acura was bred on the track. The theme continued throughout the show at nearly every stand. Alfa Romeo showed off the 4C Spider, which is the open-air version of a car that purports to be the spiritual successor of the high-performance 33 Stradale from 1967. On Tuesday, Cadillac is scheduled to reveal the 640-hp CTS-V with the V8 transplanted from the Corvette Z06, and the Lexus was expected to roll out its own V8-powered beast, the 467-hp GS F. For enthusiasts – especially enthusiasts with money – these are halcyon days. But make no mistake, all of this power has a purpose. Ford product chief Raj Nair said the Blue Oval uses high performance cars to develop technologies, like aerodynamics and materials, which are then shared across its lineup. "It's another proof point about how serious we are in developing innovation through performance," he said. Ford, which is rolling out at least 12 performance cars by 2020, said the sporty cars attract younger and more influential buyers to its fold, which can help burnish its image beyond adding sales volume. Toyota is taking a similar approach, senior vice president Bob Carter said, noting the Lexus RC coupe draws people into showrooms and gets them excited about the brand, even if they don't end up buying one. "They provide an aspiration and a halo that provides the attention that gets you noticed in a cluttered market," he said.
