1999 Suburban with hard to find 3rd row seat. Interior in good used condition. Strong truck that has been great for bigger family outings, camping, and trips to hardware store (will hold 4x8 sheet of plywood with rear seat out). Roadworthy and drivable, but to get back to top form will need some work. I will describe issues to the best of my knowledge.
THE GOOD: Solid vehicle in good overall condition. Running and on the road now. PA inspection expires in December. Low miles for its age since it's a 3rd vehicle in the family with now only 2 drivers in the house. Heated front seats with full power driver's seat and power passenger seat. Newer starter, starter cable, brake lines, master cylinder, oil pan. Leather interior in pretty good shape for its age. Cassette player for those who still have them. Heat works great. Rear Barn doors. Roof Rack and brush guard.
THE BAD: I have pulled the fuse for anti-lock brakes to make the truck stop better. Antilock brakes were engaging at low speed in dry conditions and making it harder to stop. As a result, brake light is on, but truck stops normally now. Steering has always been somewhat loose - I'm used to it, but can feel weird if you're not. Multifunction switch should be replaced - cruise control not working due to fault in switch and hazard button is mechanically locked in with spacers to make sure rest of functions (wipers, turn signals, brake lights) all function properly - which they do. Check engine light recently on - my guess is need for tuneup since it's been a while and truck is not driven too often. AC hasn't been charged in a couple years - don't know of any leaks or problems with compressor, just hasn't been serviced.
THE UGLY: Body in decent shape with no body rot, although my kids added some dents and scrapes when they were using it. Pictures show the damage mostly on passenger side and rear corner. As I said, nothing severe but it has been bumped and scraped so it's not pristine. Overall good, but if you're hoping for showroom, this is not it.
Due to the need for work identified above (and any I don't know about), being sold as-is at appropriate price. Vehicle is available for sale locally as well so I reserve right to end the listing early.

This map reveals the cleanest vehicles based on location
Thu, Apr 28 2016Naysayers love to point out how dirty the electricity grid mix is when it comes to charging electric vehicles. Curmudgeons are eager to jump into any conversation about EVs to enlighten the lucky listeners about how plug-in cars contribute to pollution, sometimes even throwing in a dash of climate-change denial for good measure. (Thanks, buddy. Pray, tell me more about the plight of oppressed SUV owners.) Unless someone buys an EV just because they think they're cool (which, yeah, they often are), they probably have at least a passable understanding of their environmental pros and cons. As many EV owners are already aware, location has a lot to do with any particular plug-in car's carbon footprint. Still, there's always more to know, and knowledge is not a bad thing, especially if one uses it to do the right thing. That's why this handy-dandy map from Carnegie Mellon University is so interesting. CMU researchers have compiled information about the lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions of various EVs based on where they're charged, as compared to gasoline-powered vehicles. The researchers looked at the Nissan Leaf, Chevrolet Volt, and Prius Plug-In Hybrid versus the gasoline-dependent Toyota Prius hybrid and the stop-start-equipped Mazda3 with i-ELOOP and compared grams of CO2 emitted per mile. CMU takes into account the grid mix, ambient temperature, and driving patterns. CMU takes into account the grid mix based on county, as well as ambient temperature and driving patterns in terms of miles traveled on the highway or in the city. For instance, if you drive a Nissan Leaf in urban areas of California, Texas, or Florida, your carbon footprint is lower than it would be if you were driving a standard Toyota Prius. However, if you charge your Leaf in the Midwest or the South, for the most part, you've got a larger carbon footprint than the Prius. If you live in the rural Midwest, you'd probably even be better off driving a Mazda3. Throughout the country, the Chevrolet Volt has a larger carbon footprint than the Toyota Prius, but a smaller one than the Mazda3 in a lot of urban counties in the US. The Prius and Prius Plug-In are relatively equal across the US. Having trouble keeping it straight? That's not surprising. The comparisons between plug-in and gasoline vehicles are much more nuanced than the loudest voices usually let on.
AMC Trans Am Javelin SST, an ultra-rare underdog, is up for auction
Sat, Sep 9 2023Among the rarest of the American muscle cars that went racing in the early Seventies — cars including the Camaro Z/28 and the Boss 302 Mustang — the 1970 AMC Trans Am Javelin SST may be the most hard to find, and among the most valuable. Only 100 units of this unique Javelin were produced, and one of them is up for auction at the Mecum event in Dallas on September 20. The Trans Am Javelin was fashioned in a patriotic livery of tricolor paint — red, white and blue — and arrived after the American Motors Corporation had decided in 1968 to compete in the Trans Am racing series against Ford and General Motors. The company's chief driver, Mark Donohue, would dominate the 1971 season, taking seven wins in his Javelin AMX and that yearÂ’s SCCA Trans-Am Championship. AMC took the trophy with 82 points, well ahead of Ford's 61, Chevrolet's 17 and Pontiac's paltry 7. The example listed for auction came equipped with a 390-cubic-inch V-8 engine with 325 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 420 pound-feet of torque, power steering and brakes, dual exhaust, BorgWarner four-speed manual transmission and Hurst competition shifter. Its “ram induction system” sealed a chamber around the air filter so that cool air from the functional hood scoop would be funneled into the intake. This JavÂ’s factory price was $3,995 — a mere $32,000 or so in today's money, though it was expensive by the standards of the time. The 100 Trans Ams were among 19,714 Javelin units built in 1970, so they started out rare, and today the surviving examples are highly collectible, if and when they come up for sale. No bid estimate is available yet. Related Video: Motorsports Chevrolet Ford Pontiac Auctions Automotive History Racing Vehicles Classics
