1990 Chevy Suburban 2500 With 454 Engine (3/4 Ton) on 2040-cars
Magnolia, Texas, United States
This is one of the cleanest Suburbans of this vintage that you'll ever
find. No rust whatsoever. With only 66,000 original miles, it drives
like new. Clean title. For cargo hauling duties, it's got a stout TBI
454 big-block V-8, a bulletproof Turbo 400 trans, and a rugged 3/4-ton
suspension with the tow/trailer package.
For family hauling duties, it's equipped with third-row seating, A/C for back row occupants, front bucket seats, and all power accessories. The dash, door panels, seat covers, and carpet are in near perfect condition. Maintenance wise, the tires, spare tire, A/C compressor, refrigerant, alternator, and headliner have just been replaced as well. As the pics show, the paint is in near perfect condition. The only blemishes are one small dent on the right rear quarter-panel and another one on the right door. This truck was purchased from the original owner and has seen very little use since then. For anyone looking for a cool tow rig that can also haul the family around in comfort, this Suburban is too clean to pass up. Feel free to stop by and check it out. I will be more than happy to put the car up on a lift so you can inspect it up close. |

Car Club USA: Corvette Homecoming
Tue, Mar 17 2015Car Club USA travels to Bowling Green, KY to document the annual Corvette Homecoming, where owners travel from around the country to reconnect with the manufacturing birthplace of their vehicles. We follow two contestants in the "Show and Shine" competition, for whom the human connection at the event is just as important as showing off their wheels. "That's probably the biggest thing about this weekend," says one attendee, "there's a connection with Corvette people." Of course, the grandeur seeing stunners like a 1959 Corvette convertible, 1966 Big Block and 2002 Z06 is worth the price of admission. Get a firsthand look at the Homecoming experience, and the folks that make it so special. Very first Chevy Camaro found and restored
Thu, Feb 26 2015Restoring an important classic car can lead people down rabbit hole upon rabbit hole of discovered history in a process that's essentially automotive genealogy. Take the recent rejuvenation of the very first Chevrolet Camaro as an example. The owners started with a strong hunch that the vehicle might be something special and spent years researching to figure it all out before the mechanical work even began. Fisher Body kicked off work on the first Camaro on May 17, 1966, and it was delivered to General Motors just a few days later for final assembly. While the model has earned a place as an American performance icon since then, the original was built more to develop the production process and boasted just a 230-cubic-inch (3.8-liter) inline six and 3-speed transmission. After spending its first few months appearing in promotions, a Chevy dealer in Oklahoma got the gold car in December of '66. It was touted on the sales floor there for years, and the first private owner didn't come until 1969. This short documentary goes into astonishingly comprehensive detail about every bit of the first Camaro's history. If you just want to hear the story of the latest owners and their work to get the vehicle restored since 2010, skip about 11 minutes into the video. Or, of course, you could just enjoy the whole thing. News Source: PilotCarRegistry via YouTube, Camaro NewsTip: Chris P. EcoCar3 will convert Camaro to bitchin' eco rides
Sat, Apr 26 2014In the 47-year-history of the Chevrolet Camaro, there have been countless college-age kids spending a ton of time getting under the hood and souping 'em up. Now, General Motors is adding a twist to the concept by donating 16 Camaros for the EcoCar challenge that puts university teams together to wring out better fuel-efficiency out of various vehicles. No word on whether there will be donuts on anyone's lawn, as suggested by 80's punks the Dead Milkmen, but the idea's never a bad one. EcoCar3 will feature 16 teams such as Arizona State, Penn State, Ontario's University of Waterloo and, of course, Detroit's Wayne State University. They'll spend the next four years "[reducing] environmental impact, while maintaining the muscle and performance expected from this iconic American car," as the EcoCar organizers say. The goal is to maintain body design and safety standards while boosting efficiency and lowering emissions, but the actual process is far more complicated than that description suggests. The California Air Resources Board (CARB) and Bosch are among the sponsors of the contest, which is also put on by the US Department of Energy and managed by Argonne National Laboratory. Penn State won Year Two of the three-year EcoCar 2 competition with its E85 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle converted out of a Chevy Malibu. The grand-prize winner of EcoCar2 will be announced in June. Check out the EcoCar3 website and see the announcement video below for more details. This content is hosted by a third party.
