1971 Chevy C20 Custom Deluxe on 2040-cars
Dallas, Texas, United States
| This was an unmolested one-owner truck when I bought it last year, and then drove it from Bullhead City, AZ to Dallas, TX without any trouble. As good as it was then, the truck is better now that it has been completely disassembled and restored. Every part of this truck is either new or rebuilt to like-new condition. Every nut, bolt, bushing, washer, etc. has been replaced on this truck. This is now a "new" old truck. Chassis was completely disassembled and then media-blasted and primed and painted with PPG epoxy to GM Chassis Black specs. All new chassis and suspension parts include new shocks, new front coil springs, new rear leaf springs and bushings, new sway bar bushings, new upper/lower ball joints, new upper/lower control arm bushings, new engine mounts, new transmission mount, re-tubed and balanced drive shaft, new U-Joints and Carrier Bearing. Differential is the original Dana 60, 12-bolt rear end. Engine is a 350 GM Crate from 1993 that was completely rebuilt with new pistons/rocker arms/rods/lifters, carb/intake/electric choke, RV cam, and HEI Ignition/Distributor. OEM exhaust manifolds have been ceramic coated, with new 2 1/4" dual exhaust system and Magna-Flo mufflers. The alternator, P/S pump, water pump, fuel pump, and fan clutch are all new/rebuilt. Transmission is the original TH350 and was rebuilt for this restoration. The Power Brake booster and master cylinder are also new. Factory A/C includes new evaporator, new OEM GM/Delco compressor, all new A/C hoses, and new blower motor. The interior is all new interior including new color-matched OEM door panels with new handles, seat cover, carpet, instrument panel bezel, steering wheel, dash pad, sun visors, and rear view mirror. New door & ignition are matched to same key. Original AM Push-button radio. Windshield, rear glass, and side vent glass are new. All body parts were disassembled and individually media-blasted and primed. Body parts that were replaced include new front fenders and new door rocker panels, and only a few minor body repairs were needed for this truck. Bed is as straight as it gets. All body parts were individually painted in original OEM colors, and then reassembled. All chrome body trim is new, with new chrome bumpers and turn lenses, new tail light lenses and trim, and new body side lights. Also have the original Build Sheet, Protect-O-Plate w/New Vehicle Warranty, Service Parts ID Sheet, Original Owner's Manual, and many work receipts from the original owner, and all of the work that was done to restore this truck. This is a fresh restoration that was just finished in July 2013. It has been, and still is, kept in a garage. It drives great and has a magnificent low rumble with the new exhaust system. An eye-catching truck and great daily driver. If you are ready for a truck you can enjoy and not have to work on, then you have found it. Good luck bidding, and thank you.

2016 Chevy Camaro takes a walk on the wild side at SEMA
Tue, Nov 3 2015From highly modified restomods to tuned pickups, Chevrolet has over 20 custom vehicles at this year's SEMA Show. Given the popularity of the Camaro in the aftermarket, it's no surprise that the new, sixth-generation model gets in on that act with four modified examples. Thanks to a combination of concept parts and components on the way in early 2016, Chevy gives future owners an idea of what's possible for their new coupe. Among the group are two takes on the SS trim at opposite ends of the color spectrum. The Chevrolet Performance version is Summit White with red accents, and it uses a lowered suspension to hunker the body over conceptual 20-inch wheels. Alternatively, the Camaro Black wears darkened trim, tinted glass, and matching 20-inch wheels. Chevy beefs up their performance to fit the added style by equipping both customs with exhaust, air intake, and brake upgrades. By far the weirdest among Chevy's group of modded Camaros is the Krypton concept in a custom shade of eye-popping green. This wild paint is electroluminescent, and when the system is activated, illuminated bowties appear across the body. Headlights with matching trim and painted exhaust tips finish off this alien aesthetic. Finally, the Camaro Hyper concept is for those looking for just a little added style for their coupe. Based on the LT trim with the 3.6-liter V6, it features Hyper Blue Metallic paint with white stripes and rides on 20-inch wheels. For a little added performance, coupe uses Chevy's aftermarket exhaust and a lowered suspension. GM Design shows what could have been and what might be
Thu, May 27 2021We periodically like to check in with GM Design's Instagram account to see what they're cooking up. Even better is when we catch a glimpse of an alternate history of what legendary designers from The General's past were thinking, though those ideas may not have made it into production. This week, for example, the account posted some illustrations from George Camp, whose career at GM spanned nearly four decades, from 1963 to 2001. One of the renderings is of what appears to be a 1971-72 Pontiac GTO Judge, but with two headlights instead of the production unit's quad beams. The rear departs from the canonical version most dramatically, with a massive integrated wing. Other bits that didn't make the production cut include large side vents, a gill-like side marker and rectangular intakes below the headlights that wouldn't be out of place on a modern design today. Amazingly, from what we can make out of the date, it appears that the drawing was done sometime in 1965, which makes it quite prescient.      View this post on Instagram            A post shared by GM Design (@generalmotorsdesign) There's also a very aerodynamic interpretation of a Corvette ZR-1. To our eyes it splits the difference between the 1986 Corvette Indy concept and a fourth-generation F-body Pontiac Firebird, so perhaps parts of Camp's work on this sketch did make it into physical form. There's also a radical sports car concept from May 1970 that resembles the Mazda RX-500 concept from the same year, a Syd Mead-looking Cadillac coupe, and an Oldsmobile with a cool take on the company's trademark waterfall grille and elements of the Colonnade Cutlass at the rear. Other recent posts include a FJ Cruiser-like off-road EV, a sleek coupe with the Chevy corporate grille, and a rendering of a Silverado-esque pickup that looks far better than the current production version.      View this post on Instagram            A post shared by GM Design (@generalmotorsdesign) It's pretty easy to lose hours in the account, but it's always fascinating to see GM's visions of what could have been and what might be.
