For sale is a 1961 1/2 ton Apache long bed pickup with canopy. Under 49000 miles on the truck. I know for a fact it is not 149000. My grandfather drove it back and forth to work at the railroad years ago and that was about it. This truck runs and looks great. Mostly rust free. Always stored inside. This was my grandfathers pickup. He bought it new and owned it up to his passing in 2003. My father titled the truck in his name but never drove it. Just stored it. Little bit of surface rust on the truck but definitely nothing major whatsoever. The truck was originally green from the factory, and for some reason my grandfather wanted it baby blue. Paint is oxidized but holding together well. Interior is a grey. Of course besides the seat everything is metal. Couple tears on the drivers seat. 3 speed manual on the column. Inline 6. Not much power but will get the truck down the road. Surely needs to be tuned up and carb may need some attention, looks to be leaking a little bit at the base gasket. Fires up and runs great as is. Completely stock. Body is extremely straight, and so is the bed. Maybe a couple little dings in the wheel wells but really minor. Even the wood in the bed is in good shape. Bias ply tires on the truck from many many years ago. Underneath the frame is pretty clean just typical light surface rust. There is no salt used on the roads here in the winter, hast been for 50 years. Remember this truck is over 50 years old, stored for many years, unmolested, just an old survivor. So if you want one thats perfect please look elsewhere. We are only selling it because we just dont have space for it anymore and it really needs to go to someone that will use it. GM sweetens military discount for Buick, Chevy and GMC
Sun, 06 Oct 2013American servicemen and women interested in a new vehicle from Chevrolet, Buick or GMC now have a bit more incentive to head down to their local dealer, as General Motors has announced plans to improve its military discount program.
The new GM Military Discount Program offers eligible consumers a new Chevy, Buick or GMC at invoice pricing, which in some cases can take very large chunks out of a car's retail price. When factored in with other incentives, most of which are available with the Military Discount, the bargains are thick on the ground for members of the US armed forces.
GM's Retail Sales and Marketing Support general manager, Chuck Thomson, said, "GM has long supported the military and military families, and we hope this simplified and enhanced discount will show our appreciation for their service and help make it easier for them to own one of our great new vehicles." The program is open to all active duty and reserve members in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, National Guard and Coast Guard, as well as veterans that have been out of the service for less than a year. Military retirees and their spouses are also eligible for the discount.

Anti-purist 1963 Ferrari GTE sports hot rod Chevy V8
Thu, Oct 8 2015I remember reading a story around the time Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift came out. It focused on one of the star cars of that film, a 1967 Ford Mustang fastback that started the film as a shell, and in a pinch, was transformed into a modified masterpiece, complete with the RB26DETT engine from a Nissan Skyline GT-R (which started the film under the hood of an S15 Silvia). There was a genuine (and in our minds, absurd) fear in the article that taking a piece of classic American iron and fitting a twin-turbocharged JDM engine would result in some awful trend in the classic car community. If you thought a GT-R-powered classic Mustang was sacrilege, though, this car will probably make you vomit. For the rest of us, it's a neat piece of engineering. Shown above is a 1963 Ferrari 250 GTE, and yes, that's a 302-cubic-inch, small-block Chevrolet V8 under the hood. On top of that, it uses the six-speed manual transmission from a Viper, a nine-inch Ford rear end, and Mitsubishi-sourced paint. So yeah, it's a FrankenFerrari.
