Very Cool 57 Chevy Pickup for Sale.

This Truck has a 454 Big Block Engine that runs and sounds great. It has a Light Cam, with Headers and Dual Exhaust giving it a Nice Rumble, but not over the top. It's starts right up, runs cool & smooth and is a Blast to Drive! You'll get Thumbs Up Everywhere You Go!

It also has:

New American Made Aluminum Radiator by Universal Parts with Dual Electric Fans and Transmission Cooler
New Elite Ultra Duty Ceramic Coated Street Headers with Dual Exhaust
Power Steering & Power Brakes
Automatic Transmission
Camaro Front Clip
Holly Carb

The truck has been primer painted in Chassis Black Satin. It is not a finish quality paint job, but more of a primer quality. It could be finished with very little additional work, if that is what you are looking for. I was looking for a better than rat rod look and went with the satin black primer. The body is solid and straight with two new front fenders. The wood bed has been replaced and has a white washed finish to go with the overall look and feel of the truck.

The Tires are in Excellent Condition with 15" Rally Wheels in the front and 17" in the rear. This Truck has a Nicely Lowered Stance, giving it a Great Look!

It is an Excellent Driver, handles well on the road and starts and goes every time you turn the key.

The Red Interior is Very Nice and goes well with the overall look of the truck.

This Truck is a Super Cool and Fun Driver. It gets noticed everywhere I go and is an Instant Conversation Starter.

Drive it, as is, with no changes and have a great time or drive it while you finish it the level you choose. The Choice is Yours.

The 57 Chevy is an iconic vehicle and a true piece of American History. There are not many of these left, Especially at this Price!

Please keep in mind this vehicle is nearly 60 years old. While it's in very good condition for it's age and has many new parts, it is not a brand new truck. I encourage you to contact me with any questions prior to bidding and if at all possible come to see and drive the vehicle. You can contact me at 972-365-8597.

Indian tuner turns Chevy Optra into Mustang 'Eleanor' replica

Fri, 03 Aug 2012

If you are a big fan of automotive oddities, this may come as a little treat. If you are a Shelby or Mustang diehard, prepare to have your sensibilities violated.
The master fabricators at BigDaddyCustoms are the minds behind what you see above. At first, it appears to be a slightly misshapen custom Mustang, modeled after "Eleanor" from Gone In 60 Seconds, but upon further examination, something appears to be amiss. In fact, the custom shop, based in India, has created an Eleanor replica grafted upon a lowly Chevrolet Optra. While it may take a second for the Optra to ring a bell, you should recognize its badge-engineered sibling, the Daewoo Lacetti, used on Top Gear.
We don't know what star would opt for the Reasonably Priced Car in Shelby's clothing, but it's clearly someone more concerned with the aesthetic than the performance credentials of this automotive mash-up.

Experimental mid-engine XP-819 Corvette going up for auction

Sun, 17 Feb 2013

It seems to be commonplace that when a new Corvette is in development, rumors swirl about a possible mid-engine layout. As is the case of Chevy's most recent C7 Corvette, these rumors never pan out.
In any case, the idea for a 'Vette with an engine mounted behind the driver can probably all be traced back to a single car, the 1964 XP-819 prototype. Built as an "engineering exercise" back in 1964, the prototype was designed with a rear-mounted engine. History tells us that the idea of a rear-engine Corvette fizzled, and the XP-819 was eventually cut up into pieces and stored at a shop in Daytona Beach, FL.
After sitting for untold years, a restoration project started on the car, and while it isn't yet fully completed, the current owner of the car, Mid America Motorworks, will have the car on display at the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance as a "driveable chassis" with hopes of having a fully completed car ready to bring to next year's show.

GM applies for LT5, LTX trademarks... are new small block variants coming?

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

Recently discovered General Motors trademark applications for LT4, LT5, LT88 and LTX have observers wondering what kind of high-performance offerings could be on their way. A new LT4 would mark a return of the engine designation first used on the Corvette Grand Sport, SLP Pontiac Firehawk and SLP Chevrolet Camaro SS from 1996 and 1997. Supposition at Corvette Forum - which provided advance intel on the C7 like these leaked images - believes a new LT4 could go into the high-performance trim of the next-gen, 2015 Camaro that would be more powerful than the 580-horsepower Camaro ZL1.
Seeing an LT5 again would also be déjà vu - in its former life it was a 5.7-liter V8 for the C4 Corvette ZR-1 from 1990-1994 designed by Lotus, producing from 370 hp to 405 hp. A mix of rumor and hope is that the new LT5 will be a supercharged evolution of the 6.2-liter LT1 (pictured) placed in the new C7 Corvette, and that it will go into the C7 version of the ZR1 pumping out something like 700 hp.
The LTX trademark is, as with that last letter, a complete mystery. If the "X" isn't a generic way to denote the whole LT family, it's wondered if it LTX could refer to a crate motor offering like the LSX.
