We bought it about 2 yrs ago and have been fixing it up. It sat for about 30 yrs before we got it and its about 98% original and complete! We have done alot to this thing. Its got new water pump, belts, hoses, thermostat, carb has been rebuilt, new distributor cap and rotor, points, spark plugs, plug wires, new oil, oil cap, radiator cap, gas cap, all new brakes and most of the brake lines, wheel cylinders and wheels and tires. The thing runs and drives great now but it does need a few things done to it for it to be road ready. The front steel brake lines need to be replaced, the radiator needs to be boiled and cleaned and the steering gear box needs to be tightened up. Aside from that this truck is ready. We have driven it and it is a blast to drive. It comes with some extra parts. We have new seat upholstery, door latches and strikers and carpet for the truck that just need to be installed. Good luck bidding!!"

This truck is in great shape for its age. Its been a farm truck since new. We bought it about 2 yrs ago from the farm and have been fixing it up ever since. It sat for about 30 yrs before we got it and its about 98% original and complete! We have done alot to this thing. Its got new battery, turn signal switch, water pump, belts, hoses, thermostat, carb has been rebuilt, new distributor cap and rotor, points, spark plugs, plug wires, new oil, oil cap, radiator cap, gas cap, shocks, all new brakes and most of the brake lines, wheel cylinders and wheels and tires. You wont be talking on a cell phone or holding a drink in this truck, its a work out haha. Its got a 1954 235ci engine in it and a 4 speed with the granny gear. this truck is and was meant to be a work horse. its got plenty of towing power for a truck this old. It comes with some extra parts. We have new seat upholstery, door latches and strikers and carpet for the truck that just need to be installed. Its got rust in the typical spots in the cab corners and floors, but nothing serious. It would make a great restore project because the truck is so complete. We even have the original tire chains that came with the truck when it was new. Who ever gets the truck will be very pleased. This tuck will need to be picked up as I am unable to deliver it. We do accept paypal, cashiers check or good old fashion cash works best. Good luck bidding!!

There's an impending shortage of new trucks in America's heartland

Thu, May 21 2020

URBANDALE, Iowa — Jerry Bill is worried the novel coronavirus could hurt business at the Des Moines auto dealership he runs, but not because of a shortage of buyers for the big Ram pickups on his lot. "Our biggest issue will be if we don't get more inventory," said Bill, general sales manager of Stew Hansen Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, which sells around 2,700 new vehicles a year in Urbandale, a suburb of Iowa's capital Des Moines. After a drop in sales in April when consumers stayed home, Bill expects pickup truck sales to end May similar to where they were a year earlier. And if demand remains strong, Bill said he will run out of popular models in June. Fiat Chrysler began slowly restarting Ram truck assembly lines on Monday after a two-month shutdown. The U.S. economy contracted in the first quarter at its sharpest pace since the Great Recession of 2007-2009 because of lockdown measures aimed at slowing the spread of the coronavirus. Economists warn the second quarter will be much worse. Still, far from the lockdowns of states like New York, Michigan or Ohio, dealerships like Stew Hansen have provided FCA and Detroit rivals General Motors and Ford a rare bright spot: strong sales of pickup trucks in America's heartland. Overall U.S. sales of cars and light trucks crashed to the weakest pace in 50 years last month. But sales of big Detroit brand pickups, particularly in southern and western states less affected by the outbreak, significantly outperformed the market, industry executives and analysts said. Pickup trucks are one of the most profitable automotive segments in the world. They account for a huge portion of the Detroit automakers' profits and formed a huge lure for Peugeot, which expects to merge with FCA by early 2021. The pressure is now on to boost pickup truck production and send vehicles to dealers in parts of the country with dwindling supplies. That is particularly true for GM, which is running short of certain truck models after losing 40 days of production to a strike last fall. "If you don't have what someone wants, they can choose to go to another brand," said Cox Automotive analyst Michelle Krebs. 'Easiest swap ever' Detroit automakers in March rolled out large discounts — such as interest-free loans for seven years — to keep vehicles rolling off dealer lots.

Motor Trend puts Chevy Camaro Z28 and Porsche 911 GT3 Head 2 Head

Mon, Dec 29 2014

Motor Trend admits, "This is an unfair comparison." But that doesn't make it any less fun to watch when they pit a Camaro Z/28 against the Porsche 911 GT3. The former has a 7.0-liter V8 with 505 horsepower and 481 pound-feet of torque shifted through a six-speed manual. The latter has a 3.8-liter flat-six with 475 hp and 324 lb-ft shifted through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Yet those are only the little disparities – the big disparities are mass and money: the Camaro weighs 3,882 pounds and costs $76,150 as-tested, the Porsche weighs 3,267 pounds and costs $145,785. But they're both about hardcore performance, so MT takes them out on the street, to the drag strip, to the parking lot for figure eights and a skidpad test, and finally to Big Willow for Randy Pobst to give his professional assessment. Remember when a lotta people spent a lotta time debating Pirates vs. Ninjas? This is like that, only it's the "haul-ass good-time car" vs. the "track surgeon." Enjoy the debate in the video.

Expect greater differentiation in GM's next-generation SUVs

Thu, 03 Jan 2013

General Motors says its next-generation Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade models will offer shoppers improved interior differentiation. Car and Driver recently caught up with Chris Hilts, GM's creative manager of interior design, who said that the cabins will all feature unique instrument panels, consoles, center stacks and switchgear moving forward. Apparently GM is now aware that consumers may be bothered by the fact that today's $85,000 Escalade has effectively the same cabin as a $45,000 Tahoe. Hilts says SUV buyers want more refinement than their pickup purchasing counterparts - and those same buyers also want their SUVs to have more exterior differentiation between the company's Silverado and Sierra pickup lines. Shocking.
That all sounds good to us, but we've heard this song and dance before. GM made big waves about how different the new-for-2013 Silverado and Sierra would look from each other, but judging by what we've seen so far, GM's stylists are painting in shades rather than with the full spectrum.
