1949 Chevrolet Truck 3100 No Reserve! Standard Cab Pickup 2-door 5 Window Swb on 2040-cars

This is my 1949 Chevrolet 3100. I'm not going to let the elements ruin this pickup. NO RESERVE AUCTION. THE HIGH BIDDER GETS IT. Here it is for your consideration. If you have been looking for one you should give it a look. It has a great running 283 engine, powerglide automatic transmission, dual exhausts that gives it a nice growl, and rally wheels. It is perfect for a build or a ratrod. The last time it was on the road was in 1984. This is a V8 1949 Chevrolet 3100 short wheel base step side pickup. Title is free and clear. Hood hinge on the driver side needs a bolt for it to close perfectly to fit nicely with the fender. I has all of the glass. Passenger side front windshield is cracked and the door glass is cracked. Drivers door is from a 1951 3100, but there is a 1949 door that comes with the truck along with an extra grill. They are both in the back of the truck. Please see the photos and ask about any concerns. Please ask if you have any concerns at all. Please ask any and all questions that you have prior to bidding. You don't have to guess or wonder about anything. I will give honest and prompt answers to all of your questions to help you make a good decision about whether or not you should bid on this 1949 Chevrolet 3100 pickup. I could only upload 24 photos. Please let me know if you need more. Please only bid if you are capable of finishing the transaction. I'm located in Duluth, GA 30096. You will need to bring your trailer when you come to pickup the Truck. I will help you load up everything and secure it. If you do decide to ship the truck with a transporter that will not be a problem. I will assist your transporter with loading, securing, and promptly send you photos of the loaded vehicle as the transporter leaves me. Please bid to win. I'll do my part to take care of you. Thanks for your consideration.
On Apr-24-14 at 20:24:41 PDT, seller added the following information: The linkage from the gas pedal to the carb needs to be correctly installed. I used a piece of nylon rope to pump the gas as I started the truck from the inside. She fires right up. Sounds real good. The transmission started to move as I quickly put the truck in drive. However, I quickly shut it down. It isn't very safe for me to try and make a strong pull off in this manner because the trucks brakes are not working properly. The floors have had some previous repair work done with heavy gauge sheet metal. I would repair them with factory like panels, but they are solid enough to stomp. The cab corners need attention. Please look at the photos for confirmation and ask if you have any further concerns about this Chevy's condition. Thanks! |

Weekly Recap: Chevy and Alfa plot comeback strategies
Sat, Jun 27 2015Chevrolet and Alfa Romeo were two of the 20th Century's most iconic automotive brands. Chevy embodied America's post-war power and confidence. Alfa was the definition of the stylish Italian sports car. They reached halcyon heights in the 1950s and '60s, before declining precipitously amid new competition, changing consumer tastes, and uneven corporate management. Both say 2015 is the start of something better, and this week Chevy and Alfa laid out ambitious plans and showcased new cars that they hope will make them more relevant this year, and in the coming years. Each brand sits at its own crossroads, and their paths forward are as different as the Chevy Cruze and the Alfa Romeo Giulia. Chevy is still a sales beast, as evidenced by its volume of 4.8 million vehicles sold around the world last year. Chevy executives are fond of saying one of their cars is sold every seven seconds, which illustrates the strength and reach of a car brand that is the fourth largest in the world. "Make no mistake about it, we are a brand for the people," said General Motors North America president Alan Batey. But he wants consumers to want to buy a Chevy for its design and technology, not simply because it's affordable. That starts with all Chevys now featuring a distinctive a family look, with sporty cues from the Corvette or strong lines that riff on the Silverado pickup. "We want people to fall in lust with our cars," said Mike Pevovar, executive design director for Chevy passenger cars. "That initial emotional attraction has to be right on the exterior, and that's where form comes into play." Chevy is also loading up its cars, like the freshly unveiled 2016 Chevy Cruze, with technology to appeal to a younger crowd that prizes connectivity. The Cruze will offer Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with its MyLink infotainment system, and OnStar with 4G LTE and wifi. Seeking out younger buyers is also sound business practice: Millennials now outnumber Baby Boomers as the largest single age group in the United States. Younger buyers also can improve a brand's image, which is another area where Chevy would like to improve. Chevy ranks 82nd on Interbrand's Best Global Brand's list, behind 11 other automakers. Apple is No. 1. "We need our own variation of the Genius Bar," Batey said. 2016 Alfa Romeo Giulia View 3 Photos Meanwhile, Alfa is in different shape.

Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat vs. Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in latest Head 2 Head
Fri, Jan 30 2015"Olympian" is one of the terms we use to signify the greatest height, the seat of the gods. Yet Mt. Olympus is the second-highest peak in the Balkans ranges, overshadowed by the crest at Musala in Bulgaria's Rila mountains. Both great heights, but one is a little higher. That's how we get the Olympian Chevy Camaro ZL1 pitched at the Musalic Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat in Motor Trend's latest episode of Head 2 Head. The side-by-side spec sheet is filled with farcical numbers. For the ZL1, that's a 6.2-liter V8 with 580 horsepower, 556 pound-feet of torque, a 4,051-pound curb weight, 0-to-60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds, a quarter-mile time of 12.2 seconds and a base price of just $57,800. Opposing that, the Hellcat wrings out its 6.2-liter V8 for 707 hp, 650 lb-ft of torque, weighs 4,449 pounds, does the quarter in 11.7 seconds and has a base price of just $60,990. Except in the case of the Hellcat, when Motor Trend put it on the dyno the machine spit out a reading of 672 hp and 606 lb-ft at the wheels. If there's a 10-percent driveline loss through those beefed-up internals and heavy-duty eight-speed transmission, that means the Hellcat is actually rated at about 750 horsepower and 700 lb-ft. But once they get put on a closed-off strip of coast road in Northern California, there are only a few strands of hair between their respective performances. That's not the case for they sensations provide; host Jonny Lieberman calls one of them, "One of the most incredible cars ever made," and says, "It changes everything." Watch the video above to see who got the verdict and how. Related Video:
