For sale today is a 1952 Chevrolet 3100 5 window pickup. This is a true survivor built in the late 80's or early 90's. The 20+ year old gloss gray paint is in decent condition but shows it's age. It has a few scratches and dings but is a very nice driver. The hood, front fenders, and grille tilt forward for easy access to the drivetrain. It is resting on a 1974 Nova subframe that has been grafted to the original chassis. The same Nova also provided the 350 engine and transmission and rearend. It is shifted through a floor mounted B&M shifter. The truck was built with power steering and has 4 wheel manual DRUM brakes. The truck runs, drives, and stops as if it was built yesterday. The tires and wheels are in good condition with plenty of tread remaining. The truck has headers and dual exhaust but is very quiet. The glass has been replaced previously and is in good condition with the exception of the drivers door window. It has a chip at the top and a small crack at the bottom. The interior has been filled with gray captains chairs with matching door panels and headliner. The bed wood has been replaced and is covered with a custom vinyl tonneau cover which needs a couple of snaps replaced but is in otherwise good condition. The seats are very comfortable and fit the truck well. The truck drives effortlessly and all lights, signals, and wipers work. The truck also has a working heater. The oil pressure, tachometer, and temperature gauges are the only operating gauges in the vehicle. If you are looking for a good looking, affordable vehicle that you can drive to the local cruise nights NOW, this is it! Don't let this get by. It's a great truck for the price!!!

Pure Vision Design TT Camaro has 1,400 reasons to want it

Wed, 06 Nov 2013

We've talked about Pure Vision Design before, a California-based company that made waves at last year's SEMA show with its Martini-liveried, Indy-car-powered Ford Mustang. That same car later starred in a Petrolicious video we showed you just a few weeks back. The company's latest creation is a menacing car it calls the Pure Vision Design TT Camaro. Based on a 1972 model, this car shares the Martini Mustang's clean styling and obsession with details.
Unlike the Mustang, which draws its power from a mid-60s Lotus-Ford Indycar engine, the "TT" in this Camaro's name implies something far more potent. The Nelson Racing Engines 427-cubic-inch V8 has been fitted with a pair of turbochargers, with a claimed output of 1,400 horsepower. That's almost 1,000 more than the Martini Mustang.
A six-speed Magnum transmission dispatches that power to the ground, while Pirelli PZero tires are tasked with (somehow) trying to grip the road. Baer brakes hide behind those HRE rims, while JRI coilovers and HyperTech springs bless the Camaro with some degree of competency in the bends.

GM says hybrid Corvette no laughing matter [w/poll]

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

When Mark Reuss was in LA recently, he sat down to have a few words with the scribes at the Los Angeles Times. When the issue of a hybrid Corvette came up, Reuss answered with "Don't laugh." The General Motors president is a complete fan of the possibility, calling it "attractive" and "really fun," believing it would improve GM expertise and that "people would love it."
Naturally, the president being supportive of an idea doesn't give indication that a hybrid Corvette is on the way. However, with supercars like the Porsche 918 Spyder and Ferrari LaFerrari giving hybrid tech a solid, if remote, place in the performance car world, the inexorable trickle-down of technology means we shouldn't be surprised if and when it does happen.
And now that we have that non-negative half-answer to a speculative question, it would be irresponsible for us not to commence rumormilling for the C8 Corvette. Taking Reuss at his word, the C8 will obviously be a hybrid with all-wheel-drive - the left side wheels driven with electric motors, the right side with the mid-mounted, four-cylinder diesel engine. With coefficient of drag of just .16, figure on a 0-to-60 mile-per-hour time of under 2 seconds and an all-electric range of something like 30 miles at top speed. Don't forget, folks, you read it here first.
