1932 Chevy Pick Up Very Very Rare on 2040-cars
Longwood, Florida, United States
I am selling a 1932 chevy pick up. This is a very rare find. You hardly ever see a chevy only fords. This truck is in great condition for its age. It does have a few spots here and there but auction also includes lots of extras. I do not have the original motor or transmission. A 4spd is included with the auction. The driveshaft is still in the truck. The truck has two front windshields but both are cracked. Both doors and rear window glass is good. Doors and both sides of hood open as they should. I believe the front and rear ends have been changed. Both are drum brakes. I do not know what either set up came out of but I do know the truck was legally driven in the mid 90's until the motor went. This is an outstanding start for a rat rod but an even better canidate for a high dollar very rare show truck. With the buy it now I will also throw in a 350 chevy motor that I took out of a 69 camaro. Motor ran when I pulled it but needs rebuilding. I took the running boards off so you can see that there is no rust behind them. The truck is just loosely bolted together so you can see it as an assembly. I took it apart to make sure it wasn't a rust bucket and a waste of time and money. You will be amazed at how solid it really is. It is not rust free but still very solid. Some of the pictures are dark so if you are a serious buyer please email me exactly what you are wanting to see and I will retake the picture. Feel free to call with any question 407-949-7097 between 9AM -9PM eastern time. Vehicle is sold as is.

GM profits threatened by glut of pickups
Wed, 05 Dec 2012Automotive News reports that General Motors may slash production or ramp up discounts in order to deal with an oversupply of pickup trucks. GM currently has more than double the standard supply of pickups, and the vehicles are threatening to dampen the automaker's profits for 2013. Typically, automakers try to sustain a 60- to 75-day supply of vehicles, but GM is currently loaded with a 139-day supply, as of last month. At the end of November, the automaker was sitting on 245,853 units.
The manufacturer says that it will adjust production accordingly before laying any incentives on the profitable pickups. Even so, there's some concern that the inventory swell could hurt the roll-out of the next-generation Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. GM actually began slowly stepping back production in August, but it's clear the company will take further action as it heads toward the end of the year and into the next. Analysts predict the automaker could reduce pickup manufacturing by nearly half in the first quarter of 2013.
That still may not be enough to keep GM from laying extra cash on the Silverado and GMC Sierra. While the company's incentive spending was down in November compared to the same month in 2011, both the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150 saw double-digit percentage increases in sales last month while the Silverado and Sierra numbers slid compared to a year prior. Incentive spending could help move more trucks and add some balance to the GM inventory surge.
Kurt Busch to shake and bake (again) in Ricky Bobby car at Talladega
Sat, 19 Oct 2013Kurt Busch will channel Ricky Bobby for another NASCAR race, this time driving a Wonder-sponsored Chevrolet SS, in this weekend's Camping World RV Sales 500 at the Talladega Motor Speedway. Unlike past tie-ins, though, there's actually an element of sponsorship here (the "Me" car was done when Busch was running on a team without sponsorship).
It was arranged by Flower Foods, the new owner of the Wonder brand. Wonder was part of the bankrupt Hostess company, which temporarily exited the US market 2012, and set off the Great Twinkie Shortage.
Busch has made something of a habit of channeling characters from famous racing movies, most recently running Tom Cruise's City Chevrolet livery from Days of Thunder in a Nationwide Series race earlier this year. Busch kicked off his movie-inspired antics, though, at Talladega in 2012, when he raced El Diablo's ("It's like... Spanish for like a fighting chicken") "Me" car complete with a cougar on the hood. He even went so far as to channel the lovable idiot that is Ricky Bobby during the race, dropping a few catchphrases about macchiatos and slingshots.
