On Nov-28-13 at 14:28:13 PST, seller added the following information:

Was asked a few questions so here is a honest answer as this vehicle has not been subject to modifications other than the radio and nothing was cut or disturbed as it came with dual rear speakers and the chain of ownership is well documented THIS IS A TRUE GARAGE FIND The engine that bears the VIN of the vehicle is a January build so my strong belief is that it is 1971 specifications producing 270 H.P. rather than the 200 H.P. produced in 1972 drive it and believe it as I believe this was RPO vehicle for the showroom as it is highly optioned you can choose to believe this or not bot I have been restoring classic Chevrolets for over 45 years Another question was where is the smog pump and because this was an RPO vehicle ordered for sale in Tennessee Idle jet adjustment were plugged, compression lowered, timing retarded and this met a low registered vehicle state. Because of the nature of my business I was smog certified so have personal knowledge of all state requirements I presently have two offers from local buyers so this auction may close early if cash is in hand A TRUE GARAGE FIND AND HONEST CAR

On Nov-28-13 at 20:20:54 PST, seller added the following information:

I have been asked several questions from NOVA EXPERTS ? and question the validity of this vehicle, the statements that I have made are true to the best of knowledge, I build first generations Camaro's so they are not so complicated as they are what they are This is a TRUE GARAGE FIND and is one of the most unmolested original vehicles that I have ever owned and is well documented, even the original bill of sale This vehicle honestly drives as new and even the A/C blows cold so you be the judge,so if you want a real rare Nova that you can drive and enjoy, show at your local gathering then bid like you want to own it otherwise join the ranks of doubters If you would like to call please do so 562-8847621 ( I'm hearing impaired)so please speak clearly Thanks Denny from Denny's Bowtie Restorations

Chevy monitors drivers' biometrics while experiencing new Corvette Stingray

Fri, 25 Oct 2013

We tell you about what a car is like to drive every day, remarking on throttle response, steering weight and feedback, squat, dive, brake fade and a dozen or more other factors of performance. What we can't tell you, though, is what the car does to us - how its performance impacts us, physically. That's what makes this video series from Chevrolet so darn cool.
The Bow-Tie brand rented out Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, got several (very) different individuals together, strapped a bunch of sensors to their bodies to record biometric data ranging from heart rate to respiration to brain activity, and then handed them keys to the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The results are explained in a series of videos, devoted to each driver, showing how different people react to the Corvette's performance.
If, like your author, you're a nerd for medical science, this is going to be a fascinating set of videos. If not, it's still pretty cool to see how the body of someone with racing experience, like Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi, reacts to tracking a car like the Corvette Stingray compared to the owner of legendary Detroit barbecue joint, Slows BBQ. Take a look below for all six videos from the series, or hop over to the Corvette Vimeo channel for the interactive experience, where you can see all the different metrics.

GM applies for LT5, LTX trademarks... are new small block variants coming?

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

Recently discovered General Motors trademark applications for LT4, LT5, LT88 and LTX have observers wondering what kind of high-performance offerings could be on their way. A new LT4 would mark a return of the engine designation first used on the Corvette Grand Sport, SLP Pontiac Firehawk and SLP Chevrolet Camaro SS from 1996 and 1997. Supposition at Corvette Forum - which provided advance intel on the C7 like these leaked images - believes a new LT4 could go into the high-performance trim of the next-gen, 2015 Camaro that would be more powerful than the 580-horsepower Camaro ZL1.
Seeing an LT5 again would also be déjà vu - in its former life it was a 5.7-liter V8 for the C4 Corvette ZR-1 from 1990-1994 designed by Lotus, producing from 370 hp to 405 hp. A mix of rumor and hope is that the new LT5 will be a supercharged evolution of the 6.2-liter LT1 (pictured) placed in the new C7 Corvette, and that it will go into the C7 version of the ZR1 pumping out something like 700 hp.
The LTX trademark is, as with that last letter, a complete mystery. If the "X" isn't a generic way to denote the whole LT family, it's wondered if it LTX could refer to a crate motor offering like the LSX.

Next-gen GM SUVs caught wearing new boxy bodies [w/video]

Wed, 15 May 2013

We recently drove the brand-new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and found it to be vastly improved compared to the outgoing model. And now that The General's pickup trucks have been squared away, it's time to focus our attention onto their passenger-friendly companions, the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon (above).
Our spy photographers have passed along a huge smattering of photos (and a video), showing the new SUVs out testing. Both the short- and long-wheelbase models were spied, and while the overall shape of the vehicles hasn't changed all that much, we expect the updates to be substantial. In addition to new powertrain options, like GM's new small-block V8, we expect the interiors of both SUVs to get massive makeovers, providing better materials throughout their cabins and quieter, more refined environments. We even hear that some trick new suspension developments may be in store for upper-end models.
Visually, these spy shots allow us to see a couple of new details on the SUVs' front and rear fascias, including LED running lamps on the Yukon and some interesting LED taillamp treatments. Of course, the obvious third party missing from this set of photos is the Cadillac Escalade, but as we reported earlier, GM is working to further differentiate the 'Slade from the rest of the fullsize SUV lineup, and is working to make the new model "much less ostentatious."
