1969 Nova Super Sport Big Block 4 speed. This car was restored as close as possible to duplicate the classic 396/375HP Nova Super Sport. All work was completed In 2004 and according to the previous owner won it's class at the Detroit Autorama show that year. It has been on the road for the last 9 years and has a couple of chips here and there but overall the paint is in great shape as is the pinstriping. Repainted according to the cowl tag it was done in the original Turquoise Blue. It has a code dated 396 Big Block (Code CLR) 375HP solid lifter motor. The motor is not stock as you can see from the pictures. It has a complete Crane roller rocker setup and girdle. I have not been in the bottom end of the motor but based on the way she runs it is evident that whoever built the car built it for one thing and one thing only - to eat up unsuspecting Hemi's and other high performance cars of that era. She is extremely fast and NOT for the novice or kid who wants daddy to buy him a toy. I've had muscle cars my entire life and  this one is scary fast even with the change to 3:42's. With a bone stock look under the hood is a built big bock with a Holley 750 double pumper, headers, Crane cam and electronic ignition. It's attached to a close ratio Muncie M21 Rock Crusher 4 speed with Hurst shifter and a hooker headers and a complete Flowmaster exhaust.. There is a full scattershield and driveshaft loop for safety. Frame connectors from the front subframe to the rear leaf spring mount make the frame super rigid and solid. Multi leaf springs with traction bars hold the rear end which is a GM 12 bolt with a new 3:42 posi which replaced the originally installed 4:11's which was great for drag racing but not suitable for the street.in my opinion. Up front are disc brakes and heavy duty Big Block springs and shocks. The overall drivetrain is solid, fast and good looking too. Under the hood you will find chrome oil pan, timing cover, most brackets, alternator, fan shroud and even the hood hinges. The interior is bone stock with the only blemish being a small 1" tear in the front seat. An AM/FM CD sits where the original radio was located. All seat belts, optional shoulder harness and new carpet make up the rest of the interior. The exterior sheet metal on this car is laser straight and original. All seams between fenders, doors and body are perfect. You can see a lot of time went into the final assembly and build of this beauty. There are 2 small repairs on the floorpans about 4" x 8" which was done in 2004 during the restoration. Other than that the entire undercarriage is original and solid front to back. Ne BF Goodrich 15" radials sit on original super sport rims with perfect trim rings and beauty caps. She runs like a dream and is great on the highway, She stops on a dime and Power steering makes her easy to drive, With plenty of power under the hood and the close ratio 4 speed transmission it makes her a blast to drive and a head turner wherever you go. The bone stock look is deceiving with the only clue as to whats in it being the 396 badges in the front fenders. Fun to drive. Thumbs up from everyone who see's her. Runs like a rocket and needs a new home with someone who likes to clean and show her off to take over! Low Reserve on this great example of classic American Muscle. Happy bidding and Happy driving to the new owner whomever that may be!

The Nova SS is up for sale locally and may be withdrawn at any time. Sold Where is as is with no warranty. If you have to take out a loan, ask mommy, the wife or anybody else before buying this Beautiful SS Nova please take care of these issues before bidding. Because the reserve is SO low be prepared to buy. Take a look at the other SS Nova's for sale. Mine is certainly a gem, priced right and ready to go! Please remember - this is not a toy - it is s very fast vehicle and in the hands of an inexperienced driver there may be issues keeping the car under control. On the other hand, If you have been to the drag strip with any older high performance vehicle your gonna love this baby. Comes out of the hole straight as an arrow. Second gear can be scary. Third and your gone! lol Tons of fun!!!

GM takes heat for aborted Silverado riff on 'Boston Strong' at World Series

Thu, 31 Oct 2013

During game five of the World Series, Chevrolet was set to do a spot of marketing for the 2014 Silverado - fans at Busch Stadium in St. Louis would hold up placards that spelled out the words "Silverado Strong," a theme that Chevy has been promoting since the Silverado's launch with the song "Strong," by Will Hoge. The St. Louis promo was ultimately called off, though, over concerns that it'd be insensitive to the visiting Boston Red Sox. (You can see the image of what the stunt would have looked like above, courtesy of one timely Reddit user.)
Now, the Busch Stadium stunt might not have been a big deal, had the St. Louis Cardinals not been playing the Boston Red Sox. Following the tragic events in Boston during the marathon back in April, the phrase "Boston Strong" gained traction among the city's citizens, especially at sporting events. So, you can imagine that Chevy's appropriation of the phrase might not sit well with some fans.
The stunt was ultimately shelved after images of the signs went viral before the game, leading to a bit of a public backlash. Chevy spokesperson Michael Albano said of the promo that it was meant to show the brand's "commitment to baseball and its fans." But after the images went viral, the company "realized there was the possibility that we may offend some of the very fans we were trying to honor," Albano told Automotive News via email.

Three automotive tech trends to watch in 2018 and beyond

Thu, Dec 28 2017

Every year, technology plays a bigger and bigger role in the auto industry. To put things in perspective, 10 years ago iPod integration and Bluetooth were cutting-edge in-car innovations, and smartphones and apps weren't yet a thing since the first iPhone was only about six months old. And I can't recall anyone talking about autonomous cars. Compare that to today, with mainstream coverage of the auto industry dominated by autonomous technology, along with electrification and almost every move made by Tesla. These three topics were the most significant trends of car tech in 2017 and I believe they will continue to shape the auto industry in 2018 and beyond. Let's examine them. Full Autonomy Gets Closer to Reality While there were many developments this year that indicate we're inching closer to fully autonomous vehicles, I was behind the wheel for hours to witness one of them. In October I had the chance to test Cadillac Super Cruise on a 700-mile, 11-hour drive from Dallas to Santa Fe – and had my hands on the wheel for maybe 45 minutes max throughout the entire trip. Super Cruise is far from making the Cadillac CT6 or any GM vehicle fully autonomous, and has limitations such as functioning only on pre-mapped main highways. While it simply adds a layer of lane centering to adaptive cruise control, the technology will go a long way in making mainstream drivers more comfortable with letting machines take over. On a separate front, GM is pushing ahead with fully autonomous vehicles and announced last month that it plans to launch of fleets of self-driving robo-taxis in several urban areas in 2019. While most automakers are also in the race to make autonomous cars a reality, GM's turbocharging of its efforts appeared to be in response to Waymo, which announced just weeks earlier that its Early Rider Program in the Phoenix area would go completely driverless. The Early Rider Program launched last April, offering the public a chance to ride in Waymo's autonomous Chrysler Pacifica minivans. In this new phase of testing, Waymo is using its own employees as guinea pigs instead of the public while the vehicles operate without a human behind the wheel, and takes another giant step forward for fully autonomous driving.

Why the Corvette's Performance Data Recorder can be illegal in some states

Fri, 26 Sep 2014

The Performance Data Recorder with Valet Mode available on the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray seems like a fantastic tool for many owners. Whether they are taking 720p video while lapping the track in their new 'Vette, or just want to protect their purchase from inconsiderate joyriders, the system offers a lot of functionality in one package. However, one of the PDR's features might get buyers in trouble with the law, and it has nothing to do with recording some illicit high-speed driving on a favorite back road. The problem hinges on the various state laws concerning a person's right to privacy.
According to a letter posted by Jalopnik, Chevy dealers are asking 2015 Corvette owners not to use the Valet Mode portion of the PDR because it records audio in the cabin, in addition to performance specs. That's a problem because privacy laws vary from state to state with some requiring just one side's consent to tape sound and others requiring all parties to agree. According Jalopnik, 15 states mandate everyone's permission beforehand, but it's not clear whether these numbers are up to date. (Actually, the report varies, saying 13 states in some places and 15 in a list.)
According to the letter, Chevy is already working on a software update for the near future to rectify the issue. It's possible that simply adding a warning to drivers and the ability to turn off the audio recording function in Valet Mode might solve the problem. Obviously, this doesn't preclude Corvette drivers from using the performance aspect of the PDR, and owners are free tape lap after lap at the track.
