1968 Chevy Ii Nova on 2040-cars

For sale is my 1968 Chevy II Nova... It has a 496 Big Block. Patroit Heads, Hooker Headers..The engine was built by Ross Automotive Machine. It is a beast. I have the full list and blue print of the engine. It has 626 HP & 650 FP's of tourque. I would be happy to send a video of it running for anyone interested.
So this is the deal. I'm over $25k in the car. I can not invest anymore restoring it. I have to cut my losses which will be plenty. This car is not perfect. It needs allot of body work to complete the project. It is being sold as a project. Everything from the fire wall forward is brand new and show ready. The interior is ready to go but not show worthly. Could be there with minimal effort. After the engine was installed, the car spun the tire off the right rear rim, before I could stop it beat the right rear quarter, trunk pan and rocker panel. All needs repaired or replaced. As we started to restore I found that both floor pans needs to be replaced. As with the trunk pan and quarter, where the rear end bolt to the body, it has been pulled off allignment, so the rear end is not straight. This happened due to rust in this area. I have a New in box full right rear quarter, full trunk pan, both full floor pans and 2 new full door shells that come with the car. As restoration continues for the next person I would expect to find more rust. However, where you will most likely find it, you will have new parts to replace it. The front fenders seem to be ok. At the top of the car where the trim goes around the doors there is rust. Weather stripping will need to be replaced. Like I said, it's a project and I want to be transparent. The good new is the car already has a "Show worthy" engine compartment with one heck of an engine with a new sub frame and all new components, blueprinted. The engine was just under $9,000 and like I said, with the restoration so far, I'm out of time and funds. This is a good place to take over from someone who can finish her. I know I'm taking a major loss selling it period. I simply can not take her all the way. I can send additional pictures or videos if needed. email me or call 903-517-7987.

Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.

These cars are headed to the Great Crusher In The Sky

Fri, 24 Aug 2012

It happens every year. We bid adieu to some cars and trucks that will be missed, and say good riddance to others wondering how they stayed around so long. Whether they're being killed off for slow sales or due to a new product coming along to replace them, the list of vehicles being discontinued after 2012 is surprisingly long and diverse.
CNN Money has compiled a list of departing vehicles, to which we've added a few more of our own. In the slow sales column, cars like the Lexus HS 250h, Mercedes-Benz R-Class and the full Maybach lineup appear, while the Ford Escape Hybrid, Mazda CX-7 and Hyundai Veracruz are all having their gaps filled with more modern and more fuel-efficient alternatives. Obvious exceptions to the rule include models that still sell in decent numbers like the Jeep Liberty and the Chrysler Town & Country (which will eventually be replaced by a crossover-like vehicle).
Check out our gallery of discontinued cars above, then scroll down for more information.

GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes

Mon, 01 Oct 2012

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
While the list of affected cars and crossovers varies by state and model year, if you own any of these models and live in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma or Texas, be sure to check the official notice below for more details.
