This is a pro touring 1967 Nova If you’re looking for a cool little duce you really need to pay attention to this one. I have owned 37 of these 66-67 Nova’s and this beauty is pretty darn nice. You won’t find a nicer Nova this cars paint and body are a strong 9.5 0n a scale of 1-10. The car is laser straight and the trim and chrome are also show caliber. The car has shock waves on it front and rear from Air Ride technologies along with a complete 4 link on the rear. This gives the car that fantastic stance that can be adjusted up or down on all 4 corners for the look and ride height that you like. The car has been upgraded to 4 wheel disc brakes all around it has C-5 Corvette brakes on it up front and drilled and slotted rotors that really look great behind the 18’’ + 17’’ Billet wheels. The motor is a 327 small block and it has a small cam in it that really makes this baby sound and run great. The engine bay is nice and clean and the motor has just enough bling on it along with the Billet specialties’ front runner polished bracket system for the air conditioning. The air blows cold and hard and sure is nice to have on those hot summer days. The automatic tranny has all been redone and works great. The rear end is a 10 bolt and has been narrowed about 3’’along with all new Moser axles this allows a little deeper wheel on the rear. The interior is very nice and clean with no rips or tares and looks great it has a very nice sound system in it with a AM/FM/CD player and kick panel speakers up front and 2 in the rear package tray. The underside is all very solid and has been painted in a flat black and look nice and clean. I’m sure I have let something out but I can tell you this is a very nice car. Like I said I have built 37 of these and never ever had a problem selling them. The price of this car is very fair especially when you look at some of the prices these are going for and aren’t half the car this one is. My first choice is to sell the car but I might consider a trade but no projects, motor cycles or street rods. If you have a trade please send pictures to dadofcars@yahoo.com and call 330-353-0959. I do require a $1,000.00 nonrefundable deposit and it is due before you pick up the car and at the end of the auction. If shipping is needed I do have a good reliable shipper I can connect you with but the cost is the buyer’s responsibility. I do reserve the right to end the auction at any time as the car is for sale locally. And as always the car is sold as is with no warranty of any kind. Thanks for looking if you have any questions please call 330-353-0959

Chevy might've pulled out of NASCAR if it weren't for new Gen 6 car

Wed, 20 Feb 2013

We've been on the fence with NASCAR for some time now. On one hand, it's some of the closest racing anywhere in motorsports, with actual passing and door-handle-to-door-handle action as a matter of course. But on the other, it's become template racing - a personality-driven sport more about the drivers than any sort of loyalty to a particular automaker. The Car Of Tomorrow format really rammed that message home, with a racecar's identity coming down to little more than headlamp stickers slapped on the nose. That's not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, but we've wondered for some time what's in it for the automakers, who pay big money to stay in a series that has had little increasingly little do with street car sales, let alone innovation.
Apparently General Motors was beginning to wonder the same thing. In a new ESPN report, Rick Hendrick, team owner of Hendrick Motorsports, suggests that GM would have seriously considered leaving NASCAR if it wasn't for the move away from the COT to the new Gen 6 racer. According to Hendrick, GM North America boss Mark Reuss spearheaded the charge away from the 2007 COT and toward a racecar with clearer automaker ties - cars like the new Chevrolet SS racer shown above. Learn more about the fight for a closer-to-production look in the ESPN story at the link.
Now, if we could just get more rear-wheel drive V8 coupes into showrooms....

This 450-hp electric Lotus Evora is powered by Tesla and Chevrolet

Tue, May 9 2017

When someone mentions an electric Lotus, the first thing that comes to mind is the Tesla Roadster, the California-based automaker's first vehicle. That car started life as an Elise before being heavily massaged and adapted by Tesla's engineers. In a similar spirit, the people at Onpoint Dyno are close to finishing Blue Lightning, a track-ready all-electric Lotus Evora. Blue Lightning uses a Tesla drive unit and a Chevrolet Volt battery pack, both mounted in the middle in place of the Evora's 3.5-liter Toyota V6. It's putting down about 450 horsepower at the wheels. The car was built for time attack sessions, so power is fed through custom forged wheels and super sticky Pirelli PZero Trofeo R tires, the same ones found on the last Chevrolet Camaro Z/28. There is a custom digital instrument cluster in place of the Lotus gauges. There's also a regen paddle on the left side of the steering wheel. With a full charge, Blue Lighting should go about 120 miles. While the car runs under its own power, it's only about 90 percent complete. It has no power steering, no firewall in between the seats and the motor and battery pack, no A/C, and a large hole where the shift lever used to be. Other final touches include fine-tuning the brakes and suspension. There is also a custom rear bumper coming that should make it look more like the new Lotus Evora 400. Onpoint Dyno expects the car to hit the track in the next month or so. Related Video:

These are the 10 longest-lasting vehicles on the road today

Tue, Nov 29 2022

Buying a car has started feeling pretty bad. It’s hard to find what you want, and when you do, thereÂ’s a great chance itÂ’s not selling for the price you thought it would be. The least stressful way of coping with the situation is not to buy a new car, but how can you know how long your current ride will last? A recent study from iSeeCars found that some vehicles are prone to deliver many more miles of usable driving than others. iSeeCars looked at more than 2 million cars. The mileage over which the top 1% of cars within each model obtained was calculated and used to rank models, and the study required that a vehicle be sold for at least 10 of the past 20 years to be included. Unsurprisingly, Toyota dominated the top-10 list, but most of the other models come from General Motors with one Honda thrown into the mix. Ranked by mileage, the top-ten longest-lasting vehicles include: Toyota Highlander Hybrid: 244,94 miles Toyota Avalon: 245,710 miles Honda Ridgeline: 248,669 miles Chevrolet Tahoe: 250,338 miles Toyota Prius: 250,601 miles GMC Yukon XL: 252,360 miles Toyota Tundra: 256,022 miles Chevrolet Suburban: 265,732 miles Toyota Land Cruiser: 280,236 miles Toyota Sequoia: 295,509 miles The iSeeCars study found that SUVs and trucks occupy 75 percent of the top 20 vehicles with the potential to last the longest, and Toyota alone accounts for half of the top 20. Interestingly, the Prius and Highlander Hybrid made the list, suggesting that automakers are getting better at making batteries last a long time. "What we see is a list of highly-durable vehicles, capable of more than a quarter-million miles of use if properly maintained," said iSeeCars Executive Analyst Karl Brauer. "And to be clear, this study isnÂ’t reporting the maximum lifespan of these vehicles. This is simply a measure of current odometer readings. Most of these cars are still in use and going strong." Of course, the longevity of a vehicle has a lot to do with how itÂ’s treated and maintained over its lifetime. ItÂ’s easy to find stories of people nursing Toyota Tundras and other vehicles past a million miles, and thereÂ’s a 1960s Volvo with more than 3 million miles. Some vehicle types, particularly the largest SUVs, are often used as road-trip vehicles by large families, which means they tend to rack up big mileage. In most cases, buying and owning a higher-mileage car can be a risk, so itÂ’s essential to get a pre-purchase inspection or regular maintenance if you already own one.
