76 Chevrolet Monte Carlo on 2040-cars
Floral Park, New York, United States
Up for sale, here we have a 1976 Chevrolet Monte Carlo with 38000 actual documented miles . That's not a typo! Yes you read it correctly, 38000 ORIGINAL MILES. I bought this car with the expectations of completely restoring it as I have restored many Montes over the years. Unfortunately the building I rent to play with my toys has gone up for sale by the owner. Therefore this one has to go. Here are some of the details on the car. This is a great candidate for a restoration. It won't take much to get it back to its original glory! The car has Absolutely NO Rot. A few dings and MINOR dents here and there as any 38 year old unmolested car would have. The interior is near flawless. No rips, tears or stains. Door panels are like new. The dash pad does have a crack though. (as seen in photos). Slight musty smell do to the fact the car sat for many years. Carpet is near perfect. Floor and trunk are SOLID! The exterior is straight with no signs of collision damage anywhere. All trim is present and the bumpers are very presentable. There is slight surface rust on the hood and trunk lid from the car being under a car cover for many years. Rear bumper filler ends will need to be replaced (missing). The vinyl roof will need to be replaced or repaired because of a split in the seam (shown in photo). The options on this car are : AC, power bench seat (Cloth) power locks, rear defogger, AM-FM Cassette radio (face plate missing) and the dash is uncut, power trunk and NO POWER WINDOWS. Go figure that one out??? Mechanically the 350 small block runs 100% as does the transmission. I dropped the gas tank, had it boiled out and painted. Had the carb rebuilt (2 barrel). Tune up, oil change, new battery and brake lines replaced. 3 pumps of the gas pedal and the car starts right up. The choke even sets until you kick it down. I can't say for sure if the AC gets cold (cold weather) but I'm sure it will need a charge. All AC parts are in tact. Will need tires. Well that's about it. If you should have any questions feel free to ask. Serious bidders only. Please don't bid if you don't have intentions of following through with the purchase. Also please have your funds in order before bidding. I have been totally forthcoming about the condition of the vehicle. Please bid with confidence, just keep in mind that it is a 38 year old vehicle with great potential!!! NO RESERVE GOOD LUCK..........

Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee teases return with a Countach
Fri, May 29 2015Unless you have an intense aversion to Jerry Seinfeld, it's hard not to find something to like about his show Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. After all, the series combines funny people telling often hilarious stories while riding in ridiculously cool vehicles. The trailer for the sixth season is now online, and based on this tease, this definitely looks worth watching no matter what part of the videos interest you. Of course, it's the automotive portion that really grabs us, and Seinfeld has quite a fleet to showcase for season six. The trailer shows off a Lamborghini Countach, a '57 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible, a classic Volkswagen Beetle in the green and white German Polizei livery, a Morgan, an Aston Martin DB5, and a Ferrari 308. On the more humorous side of things, the guest list at least includes Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jim Carrey, Steve Harvey, Stephen Colbert, Bill Maher and upcoming host of The Daily Show Trevor Noah. Season six of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee premieres on Crackle on Wednesday, June 3, at 11:30 PM ET.
GM and Ford quarterly sales continue to slump in China
Fri, Jul 5 2019BEIJING — General Motors and Ford announced their quarterly sales in China fell, albeit at a slower pace sequentially, as the U.S. automakers were hit by a slowing economy amid the Sino-U.S. trade war. GM's vehicle sales in China for the quarter ended June 30 dropped 12.2%, while Ford's sales slumped by 21.7%. While GM also suffered from heightened competition in its key mid-priced SUV segment, Ford was hurt by the limited new models for customers to choose from. For the first quarter of this year, Ford's sales in China tumbled 35.8 percent while GM's skid 17.5 percent. Still, the numbers from GM, the second biggest international automaker in China by sales, and Ford portend more uncertainty for the industry which is trying to rebound from a downward spiral that led to its first annual sales decline last year in more than two decades. GM delivered 1.57 million vehicles in China in the January-June period this year, while Ford delivered 290,321 vehicles. China's factory activity shrank more than expected in June, highlighting the need for more economic stimulus amid higher U.S. tariffs and weaker domestic demand. Annual car sales in China fell last year for the first time since the 1990s, and they are expected to fall this year too. Sales tumbled 16.4% in May from the same month a year prior, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) said. That marked the 11th consecutive month of decline and followed falls of 14.6% in April and 5.2% in March. U.S. car companies' share of total China passenger vehicles sales fell to 9.6% in the first five months of this year from 10.9% in the year-ago period, according to CAAM. Over the same period, German car makers' share has risen to 23.3% from 20.9% and Japanese auto makers' to 21.3% from 17.3%. CAAM is set to announce June sales next week, which industry analysts forecast will be negative.  New models In China, GM has a joint venture with SAIC Motor Corp, in which the Buick, Chevrolet and Cadillac are made. It also has another venture, with SAIC and GuangxiAutomobile Group, in which they make no-frills minivans and have started to make higher-end cars. Sales of GM's affordable brand Baojun dropped 31.8% for the latest quarter. But luxury brand Cadillac's sales jumped 36.6%. GM sold 3.64 million units in China last year, down from 4.04 units in 2017. Ford makes cars in China through its joint venture with Chongqing Changan Automobile Co and Jiangling Motors Corp (JMC).
