Up for sale is my restored, National show winning 1970 Monte Carlo by Chevrolet. This particular Monte Carlo was built in the Flint, Michigan plant. Having said that, there are no build sheets since that plant had strict rules when it came to placing build sheets in vehicles. I found this out from the vice president of the First Generation Monte Carlo Club. Something else that makes this car unique, is the fact 1970 was the first year for the Monte Carlo. You will be hard pressed to find a first generation Monte Carlo in this condition. I am open to certain trades **No Motorcycles**, and my price is negotiable. This Monte Carlo is a factory A/C car but is not hooked up since it was not built to be a daily driven car. Along with the car comes the owners manual in A-1 shape, the 1970 Chevy Manufacturer's Specs in a 3 ring binder, the original 1970 Monte Carlo dealer sales brochure, and a bunch of Hot Wheels 1970 Monte Carlos that are still in the packaging and are painted just like mine. Don't miss out on an opportunity to own a true 70s muscle car, ready for the car cruise season. I have all the reciepts for the work I had done since I have owned it. This car can be driven anywhere, as I took it to Carlisle June 22-24th and put 500 miles on it in one weekend, with zero problems. I have noticed that it may need a new oil pan gasket since the one on it is cork and has started to leak a little. I didn't put the cork one on, and since I don't have access to a lift yet I haven't changed it out. I never trailer this car but when I take it on long trips I do cover the front with blue painter's tape to prevent stone chips as much as possible. (Blue painter's tape doesn't leave a sticky residue) I currently have a PA Antique plate on the car which can go with it.

The last few pictures of the car are from 1990 when it was purchased from the original owner and 1999 when it was painted a second time with the racing stripes. I also have a ton more pictures of the restoration. If you want to see them please contact me and I will email them over. This Monte Carlo was originally white.

** Recently displayed at the 2013 Autorama World of Wheels in Pittsburgh PA. Recieved an ISCA (International Show Car Association) award in my class as well as the ISCA "Rising Star" award.
** Drove it 500 miles in one weekend to the All GM Nationals in Carlisle, PA. I received and Award of Excellence in my class (70-72 Monte Carlo stock)
** Featured on the front cover and article write up in the National Monte Carlo Owners Association magazine

Watch how Corvette Racing's new collision-avoidance radar system works

Fri, 22 Mar 2013

When it comes to technology used in racecars, we generally expect it to trickle down to production cars, not the other way around. Well, Pratt & Miller has developed a new rear-facing radar that operates in a similar fashion to what we're used to in modern blind spot detection systems, only it is also capable of tracking cars as they approach and relaying vital information to the driver via a large display screen.
The innovative radar system debuted at last weekend's 12 Hours of Sebring for Corvette Racing, and this system makes perfect sense for endurance races like this since the cars sometimes have to drive through the night and in poor weather conditions.
The radar can detect cars even with poor visibility, and uses easy-to-distinguish symbols for the driver to identify.

UAW to vote on strike at Kentucky Corvette plant

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

The current wait time for a new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is well, not short. With word of a strike at the Bowling Green, KY factory responsible for seventh-generation sports car, though, that wait time could end up growing substantially.
Now, a strike is still a ways off. UAW Local 2164, which represents the 800 workers responsible for screwing the Corvette together, is set to vote on authorizing a strike today, but even if the employees give the action a go, it's far from a sure thing. According to The Tennessean, both regional and national union officials would need to put their stamp of approval on strike action.
"The membership has to vote to strike, but it's just a step in the process," said Gary Casteel, the UAW's Region 8 director and one of the people that would need to authorize a strike action. Casteel told The Tennessean, "It's purely a local situation, though. They are having some issues with the local management."
