A very nice original 1971 Chevy Malibu 400 convertible. I'm selling it for a family friend who's mother bought this car new. It was a special order and has been in Georgia most of its life. It has absolutely no rust and is very original except for one repaint around ten years ago in its correct Sunflower yellow.

This is a very unusual car and from what I can find out from the national Chevelle registry is one of only 35 built with this power combination. It is an LS 3 big block 400 with an automatic transmission. They say there were only 18 LS 3 400 big blocks built with a stick transmission and 35 with automatic. This is one of those 35.
It has factory A/C which blows cold. it has a posi rear end, it has an SS dash and factory tach, it has a rear window defogger for the convertible rear window which i have never heard of, It had dark tan bucket seats and interior which is in great shape. The seats have been properly re covered some time ago. The engine is bone stock and is numbers matching. It was pulled and rebuilt around 10 k miles ago primarily to replace all of the seals. It runs great and does not leak or drip anywhere. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere. All of the fluids have been replaced. The tires have good tread but are probably too old for an across the cross country high speed trip. The original build sheet and books are with the car as well as a thick file of all of the work done on the car for many years. The top works great and has been replaced and it fits well. it is totally dry but has a small flaw on the drivers side that has been repaired. The engine is clean and has not been spray bombed to hide any sins. The original jack is in the trunk.
Please call me with any questions. I can give you more detail over the phone of give you more photos of specific areas as you wish. The car is in Marietta Georgia and can be seen or driven by making an appointment.    Call Bob W at 404 731 4580 during reasonable hours

Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]

Mon, 18 Mar 2013

Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers. You can check out the brief press release below for more information, or head over to the Callaway site to plunk down a deposit - but before you do, we want to know... do you find this C7 wagon interesting? Vote in our poll below, then feel free to leave a few lines in Comments.

How a Texas Hyundai dealer became the Chevy SSR king

Tue, Apr 21 2015

The SSR isn't one of the most appreciated vehicles in Chevy's long history. With a style amalgamating the look of a vintage hotrod, convertible and a pickup, it's really serving a niche market right from the start. However, a Hyundai dealer in Texas has turned selling the cult models into a booming business and has become the de facto king of the quirky truck. According to Automotive News, Paul Peebles runs North Freeway Hyundai in Spring, TX, but he's better known in the Chevy SSR community the premiere seller of the weird model through his used car network. The odd venture started in 2010 when Peebles wanted to boost his pre-owned business and bought several sporty vehicles. Among them were five SSRs, and he threw a cookout for owners to get the word out. Things just ballooned from there. Since then, Peebles' used car dealer has had a hand in 447 SSR transactions, and some of those are the same truck coming back to sell again. With just over 24,000 of them out there, that works about to two percent of the model's production moving through just one business. The dealership also sponsors an SSR owners' forum online. Being a major broker for a niche model also means that Peebles often gets rare examples of the SSR, including some of the Indianapolis 500 pace car versions, according to Automotive News. We even saw a bizarre one last year when the business put this shark-inspired truck on eBay Motors. The whole thing also works out well for Peebles' Hyundai business. Specializing in SSRs brings other performance models in as trade-ins, and they can draw folks to the lot to check out the collection. Then, maybe visitors can take a look at a Sonata, too.

GM to make most cars LTE hotspots for 2015

Mon, 25 Feb 2013

General Motors isn't the first automaker to deliver in-car Internet access, but a proposed plan announced today could make the technology more widespread than any of its competitors have offered. By the 2015 model year, most Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac and GMC products in the US and Canada will offer 4G LTE mobile broadband access. Initially, GM will just be pairing with AT&T to deliver this service, but additional carriers will be revealed in the future.
Current in-car Wi-Fi hot spots are limited to 3G, but GM says that 4G LTE is 10 times faster than 3G service and will allow for full Internet access, including streaming video for entertainment as well as services like real-time traffic updates and navigation driving directions. There is also no need for a paired smartphone with this new system, which should make it easier to use, and GM and AT&T will also be working together to develop new apps for customers.
Buyers can expect to start seeing 4G LTE in their cars starting next year, and GM is already planning to expand the service to other global markets as well. All of the information from GM's announcement is posted in a press release below.
