Selling my 1996 Impala SS only 29k original miles, This is the rarest color and hardest to find in Dark Green Grey Metallic especially with these miles, Rarest color for the 96 only 10,676 were made in Dggm who knows how many are left.. Basically New condition, This car comes with upgraded exhaust with chrome tips, k&n cold air intake, performance chip, upgraded sound system through out the car. 22" Asanti Luxury wheels with Lexani tires. {$6,000+ New}. Original paint from 96 in almost new shape shines up great especially when the sun is out, its been garaged kept and covered, no dings, dents, etc... Interior is still in near perfect shape also all original.. I really don't have to say much more about these cars, there clean, respectable, comfortable, fast, and are just a few years away from being classics. Only 41k 96's were made! Good gas mileage for a 5.7 V8 Lt1 Corvette engine, 17 mpg street and 26 mpg highway. I just bring it out on the weekends, show quality car! neck breaker! Don't bother with a new car that will lose its value get a real clean respectable soon to be classic that will only go up in value, a fun asset! I Had the collection of all 3 colors and this was one of the ones that received most compliments! Still have original Window sticker! Its a must see..

Chevrolet donates 300 vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders
Thu, 28 Feb 2013Super Storm Sandy took out a lot of automobiles in its path of destruction through the Northeast last October. The number surpassed 250,000 at last count, and a few of those were owned by Chevrolet - cars either sitting on dealership lots or waiting at port to be shipped off. Rendered unsellable by the water damage inflicted by Sandy, these vehicles were facing the crusher. But Chevy didn't send them there.
Instead, Chevy had a better idea: It will be donating 300 of these vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders at Guardian Centers in Perry, GA. Chevy is the official automotive partner of Guardian Centers, which is an 830-acre facility that trains first responders in disaster preparedness. Junked cars are practically a consumable commodity there, where a full-size cityscape simulator gives trainees an entire urban center in which to train for all sorts of rescue operations and disaster scenarios.
Chevy says its particular vehicles will be used "in conjunction with role players for wide area searches, traffic congestion in emergency situations, counter terrorism, public order and mass casualty exercises." While grim scenarios all, we're certainly glad there are people out there preparing for the unexpected. While a zombie apocalypse isn't officially on the list of potential disasters to prepare for, when the virus hits, we'll be hot-footing it to Perry, GA to hang with these guys and gals.
Chevy might've pulled out of NASCAR if it weren't for new Gen 6 car
Wed, 20 Feb 2013We've been on the fence with NASCAR for some time now. On one hand, it's some of the closest racing anywhere in motorsports, with actual passing and door-handle-to-door-handle action as a matter of course. But on the other, it's become template racing - a personality-driven sport more about the drivers than any sort of loyalty to a particular automaker. The Car Of Tomorrow format really rammed that message home, with a racecar's identity coming down to little more than headlamp stickers slapped on the nose. That's not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, but we've wondered for some time what's in it for the automakers, who pay big money to stay in a series that has had little increasingly little do with street car sales, let alone innovation.
Apparently General Motors was beginning to wonder the same thing. In a new ESPN report, Rick Hendrick, team owner of Hendrick Motorsports, suggests that GM would have seriously considered leaving NASCAR if it wasn't for the move away from the COT to the new Gen 6 racer. According to Hendrick, GM North America boss Mark Reuss spearheaded the charge away from the 2007 COT and toward a racecar with clearer automaker ties - cars like the new Chevrolet SS racer shown above. Learn more about the fight for a closer-to-production look in the ESPN story at the link.
Now, if we could just get more rear-wheel drive V8 coupes into showrooms....
