1969 Chevy Impala 2dr Sport Hard Top Only 36,123 Original Miles! on 2040-cars
Manitowoc, Wisconsin, United States
Up for your consideration is this 1969 Impala 2 door hard top with only 36,123 original miles on it. The car is not perfect but it is in amazing shape for a 45 year old vehicle. It has some surface area rust from sitting outside and the front quarters have some rust holes in them. New quarters are $680.00 for the pair. The interior has some small rips in the seat but overall the interior is in like new condition. The interior carpet is perfect. The only thing I know of that does not function is the turn signals and there is no power to the radio. The package tray has recently been replaced and the speaker holes have not been cut in the event you don't want them added again. The dash looks perfect. No cracks or fading.
The car is all original EXCEPT that the stock carburetor has been replaced with a Holley 2 barrel and the car has headers, dual exhaust, and dual glass packs. The car sounds phenomenal! Other than that all the lights, glass, window cranks, heater ect work as if they were new. The car has air shocks and rear coil spring spacers and of course after market chrome rims. There are some dents and dings to the car, it is not perfect, but I would trust this car in a cross country road trip. A rare garage find with this low of miles. I even have information in the glove box on the original owner. |

GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable
Fri, 21 Sep 2012General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.

Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit
Mon, 20 Jun 2011Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
