Selling my 1966 Impala Super Sport. This car has 66,465 original miles at present. I purchased this car in 2005 from the nephew of the original owners who inherited it at their passing. It has always been kept under cover(garage or pole barn). This SS has the numbers matching 327 v-8 and powerglide transmission. She runs exceptionally well with no problems. This was an all original, down to the date coded spark plug wires car when I bought it. Originally Irmine white exterior, I did have it painted 2005GM Arrival Blue metallic after stripping her down to bare metal. All moldings and emblems were removed before painting. There was never any rust or damage to the body. She sports all the original sheetmetal in place where the factory installed it. The interior is ALL original with the exception of the under dash CD unit. The only places of concern inside are the bottoms of the bucket seats have seam splits,(They are 47 years old after all)and a couple of cracks in the original dash pad. Everything else is in great shape for the age. There is still one build sheet under the carpet and I have another one from under the rear seat.Everything inside works including the seat belt retractors and the clock will run if the car is driven regularly and often.Even the peddle rubber and chrome show little wear. I have added a few modern upgrades to make her more driver friendly and safer however I kept every original piece I removed. They will of course go with the car. The center console has the original carpet in place along with the console light. Some of the upgrades include power(front disc) brakes,HEI distributor and plug wires, dual exhaust and mufflers(I did not keep the old exhaust),Edlebrock 600 CFM carb.,new fuel pump, radiator and air shocks.I installed a set of old style slots wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/As.(I have the original steel wheels and SS wheel covers).I also had many new front suspension parts installed(bushings and the like). The car has all original glass and even the original trunk spatter paint and trunk light. I really do like and enjoy this SS and the fact that it was never abused, wrecked or neglected. That said I believe I have put less than 3,000 miles on her since '05 and I hate to see her sit. So if you're looking for a really nice turn key Impala SS, that you can drive as is or add you own flavor to,I don't think you'll find one nicer for the money. In picture #3,youll see a reflection off the driveway at the door bottom. There is nothing wrong with the doors paint.I'm not looking to make a killing on her but I'm not going to give her away either. Check the price books and NADA listing. I can't part with her for less than $15,000 and I feel she's a deal at that price. So bid with confidence and bid only if you mean it. No scammers and no 0% feedbacks w/o contacting me first.Shipping is up to buyer but I will be available to help with loading.I reserve the right to end this auction at anytime. Thanks for looking.

UAW to vote on strike at Kentucky Corvette plant
Tue, 08 Apr 2014The current wait time for a new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is well, not short. With word of a strike at the Bowling Green, KY factory responsible for seventh-generation sports car, though, that wait time could end up growing substantially.
Now, a strike is still a ways off. UAW Local 2164, which represents the 800 workers responsible for screwing the Corvette together, is set to vote on authorizing a strike today, but even if the employees give the action a go, it's far from a sure thing. According to The Tennessean, both regional and national union officials would need to put their stamp of approval on strike action.
"The membership has to vote to strike, but it's just a step in the process," said Gary Casteel, the UAW's Region 8 director and one of the people that would need to authorize a strike action. Casteel told The Tennessean, "It's purely a local situation, though. They are having some issues with the local management."
Chevy Bolt, GM's 200-mile EV, could debut in Detroit
Sat, Jan 10 2015It's not news that General Motors is working on a $30,000 electric vehicle with a 200-mile range. Then-CEO Dan Akerson said as much back in 2013. What we've heard before is that this mystery EV will be based on the Chevrolet Sonic and will will arrive in 2017. So, if that's all correct, then it would make sense that confirmation of this plan would come at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, which is just around the corner. And lookee here... The Wall Street Journal is reporting that GM will unveil a concept Chevy Bolt at the Detroit show on Monday. That name sure makes sense, too, since GM registered that trademark back in August. According to the Journal, the rumored numbers – 200-mile range, $30,000 price – are still what's expected. Some new purported details are that the battery will come from LG Chem, which also makes the Volt's batteries, and that the Bolt will be a crossover that could be sold around the world. This all smacks of a preemptive strike against the Tesla Model 3, which is also due around 2017. Currently, GM sells the Spark EV in limited areas of the US, despite a lot of excitement for wider availability. To sell a 200-mile EV for $30,000 means that GM and LG Chem will likely have drastically reduced the cost of making a big plug-in vehicle battery. What this means for the new Volt and GM's future plans is something we're more than a little excited about to learn more of on Monday, the same day that we get to see the redesigned Chevy Volt for the first time. Well, aside from the CES teaser. Green Chevrolet Crossover Electric 2015 Detroit Auto Show Chevy Bolt bolt
Impala SS vs. Marauder: Recalling Detroit’s muscle sedans
Thu, Apr 30 2020Impala SS vs. Marauder — it was comparo that only really happened in theory. ChevyÂ’s muscle sedan ran from 1994-96, while MercuryÂ’s answer arrived in 2003 and only lasted until 2004. TheyÂ’re linked inextricably, as there were few options for powerful American sedans during that milquetoast period for enthusiasts. The debate was reignited recently among Autoblog editors when a pristine 1996 Chevy Impala SS with just 2,173 miles on the odometer hit the market on Bring a Trailer. Most of the staff favored the Impala for its sinister looks and said that it lived up to its billing as a legit muscle car. Nearly two-thirds of you agree. We ran an unscientific Twitter poll that generated 851 votes, 63.9 percent of which backed the Impala. Muscle sedans, take your pick: — Greg Migliore (@GregMigliore) April 14, 2020 Then and now enthusiasts felt the Impala was a more complete execution with guts. The Marauder, despite coming along later, felt more hacked together, according to prevailing sentiments. Why? On purpose and on paper theyÂ’re similar. The ImpalaÂ’s 5.7-liter LT1 V8 making 260 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque was impressive for a two-ton sedan in the mid-Â’90s. The Marauder was actually more powerful — its 4.6-liter V8 was rated at 302 hp and 318 lb-ft. The ImpalaÂ’s engine was also used in the C4 Corvette. The MarauderÂ’s mill was shared with the Mustang Mach 1. You can see why they resonated so deeply with Boomers longing for a bygone era and also captured the attention of coming-of-age Gen Xers. Car and DriverÂ’s staff gave the Marauder a lukewarm review back in ‘03, citing its solid handling and features, yet knocking the sedan for being slow off the line. In a Hemmings article appropriately called “Autopsy” from 2004, the ImpalaÂ’s stronger low-end torque and smooth shifting transmission earned praise, separating it from the more sluggish Mercury. All of this was captured in the carsÂ’ acceleration times, highlighting metrically the differences in their character. The Impala hit 60 miles per hour in 6.5 seconds, while the Marauder was a half-second slower, according to C/D testing. Other sites have them closer together, which reinforces the premise it really was the little things that separated these muscle cars. Both made the most of their genetics, riding on ancient platforms (FordÂ’s Panther and General MotorsÂ’ B-body) that preceded these cars by decades. Both had iconic names.
