This is my 1965 Chevrolet Impala 2 door hardtop that I am selling at NO RESERVE!!! This car comes with all the parts to make it into a show winner all it needs is you. This car has been converted to power brakes. It has drilled and vented front discs. The rear brakes are drums, but have been rebuilt. I replaced the front metal brake lines and the rear rubber line. It has a new booster and master cylinder. The wheels are 17 inch American Racing torque thrust. The rear tires are in great shape with less than 500 miles on them. The front tires have a bit of cracking in the side walls. The car has 2 inch drop spindles and tubular upper control arms with offset shafts installed. It has a new champion radiator with dual electric fans running off a thermostat. Heater hoses and all other rubber lines have also been replaced. It has a new battery and cables. Edelbrock carb sets on a new Holley dominator intake. New aluminum valve covers and air cleaner. New plugs and accel wires. I converted the ignition system to an electronic billet distributor which is much more reliable than the stock points. I replaced the bushings that needed it with polyurethane ones. It has new tie rod ends. The th350 transmission has a fresh rebuild through Tooley's transmission in Talbott Tn. The rear end housing fluid has also been changed to synthetic fluid. It has dual exhaust that was installed before I bought the car. I believe it is either flowmasters or dynomax mufflers. The writing faces towards the floor pan so I am not sure. I do know that it sounds amazing. The full length headers have been painted and heat wrap has been applied, I love the look of the wrapped headers. The car has a very fast throttle response and a streetable cam. When you kick it down the car takes off like a rocket. It will do long smokey burnouts, but I do baby the car with the price of tires and such. This car drives better than most new ones. With the front end lowered it gets the nose under the wind and it feels great on ther road. I have replaced some of the rubber seals and have more new seals for the doors that will come with the car. I am also including a new carpet, front and rear bench seat upholstery, rear package tray, front door panels(unassembled) key blanks, full set of new rear tail lights and trim rings. The car still has the original headliner in great condition. I have already upholstered the rear bench seat. The rear panels are also original and in great condition. I have all new emblems including the impala letters which are n.o.s. and still in o.e. plastic. the 327 flag emblems are installed as is the front chevrolet badge which can be seen in the pictures. I have all the interior including kick panels. Check out the photos. All parts are n.o.s., year one, and other quality venders even the felt for the inner windows is included. I have a few thousand in interior parts so the inside will look as good or better than it did in 1965. Now for what is needed the upholstery has not been installed because the front and rear window seals need to be resealed. There is a hole in the passanger floor pan from the leaking front window seal(see picture). The lip of the trunk lid needs work and the drivers side rear quarter was struck by an old lady in a grocery store parking lot in the 80's. The previous owner had a cheap bondo job to fix that. The car is straight as can be seen in the photos. There are small pin holes in the drivers side front floor pan ( leaky front window again ). The rest of the floor is in excellent condition. The trunk has a few small pin holes in it ( leaky rear window ). I do believe I caught the trunk pan in time as it is solid. Overall the metal is great a few spots hear and there but it is 48 yrs. old. I do have the original paper work such as build sheet, which I found under the rear seat, and protecto plate with the factory impala option books, original window sticker etc. The car was originaly maroon with a black interior. The aluminum trim is shiny and complete. I also kept all the original parts that I have replaced. If you want to put it back to o.e. specs these will be a great help. I will have to look, but I may have the o.e. intake and carb, but not sure about that. I do have the o.e. air cleaner, valve covers, front spindles, distributor, and a few other parts. The car has the original jack, spare rim, but I have never had the o.e. jack base. I will add more information as I can recall it, there are probably more new parts that I have not remembered. My next move was to install an aftermarket A/C . Replace the front and rear window seals. Clear coat the faded paint and enjoy! I personaly would not repaint, but that is the choice of the new owner. To many idiots to ding an expensive paint job in a store parking lot for my taste. If you have any questions feel free to email me. The car will go no where untill full payment is made. Shipping is buyers responsibility. No pay pal. Cash only. If you wish to inspect it just let me know it sets on hwy 92 in Rutledge TN. Thank you for viewing my auction please view all photos and Have a Great Day!!!

Kurt Busch to shake and bake (again) in Ricky Bobby car at Talladega

Sat, 19 Oct 2013

Kurt Busch will channel Ricky Bobby for another NASCAR race, this time driving a Wonder-sponsored Chevrolet SS, in this weekend's Camping World RV Sales 500 at the Talladega Motor Speedway. Unlike past tie-ins, though, there's actually an element of sponsorship here (the "Me" car was done when Busch was running on a team without sponsorship).
It was arranged by Flower Foods, the new owner of the Wonder brand. Wonder was part of the bankrupt Hostess company, which temporarily exited the US market 2012, and set off the Great Twinkie Shortage.
Busch has made something of a habit of channeling characters from famous racing movies, most recently running Tom Cruise's City Chevrolet livery from Days of Thunder in a Nationwide Series race earlier this year. Busch kicked off his movie-inspired antics, though, at Talladega in 2012, when he raced El Diablo's ("It's like... Spanish for like a fighting chicken") "Me" car complete with a cougar on the hood. He even went so far as to channel the lovable idiot that is Ricky Bobby during the race, dropping a few catchphrases about macchiatos and slingshots.

Texas cops pull armed suspect from burning car

Fri, Jul 29 2016

A high-speed chase through Fort Worth, Texas ended in dramatic fashion earlier this month when FWPD pulled armed burglary suspects from the burning wreckage of their escape vehicle. According to NBC DFW, Fort Worth police were dispatched to Avington Way on the evening of July 16 to investigate reports of a burglary. The burglary victim told police he had arrived home to find three individuals hauling his property out of his house. When he approached them, one of the suspects pointed a handgun at him and told him to stay back. Then all three suspects climbed into a silver Dodge Avenger and sped away. FWPD officers spotted the Avenger a short time later on Sycamore School Road and, after the car refused to pull over, the chase was on. Police chased the burglary suspects through the city at speeds approaching 100 mph until the Avenger blew a red light and was t-boned by an oncoming pickup at the intersection of California Parkway and James Avenue. As the pursuing officers closed in on the disabled car, it suddenly caught fire. One suspect bailed out and ran for it, but the remaining two were trapped inside with the flames quickly mounting. Despite the spreading fire and the threat of armed suspects in the vehicle, police officers rushed to pull the men from the wreck. The driver was removed easily, but the passenger was unconscious and trapped behind a crushed passenger door. The scene was caught on the officers' body cameras as they pried the door open with their bare hands. Eventually the officers got the semi-conscious man out of the passenger seat just as the car was completely engulfed in flames. "It was pretty dramatic. We recruit people that can think on the fly, think quickly, and perform under pressure," FWPD Sergeant Marc Povero told WFAA. All three suspects are facing charges for burglary, and the driver was charged with evading arrest.
