1965 Chevrolet Impala on 2040-cars
San Jose, California, United States
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED EMAIL ME AT: tashia.fischbein@zoho.com . Hi, up for sale is my California born, 1 family owned, black plate 1965 Chevy Impala. As you can see by the pics
below this car is in real nice shape in and out. This car just underwent a interior and exterior mild restoration.
Below I will try and describe exactly what I see and know about this car.
Starting With The Outside : Car is laser straight and only has 1 repaint since new...not sure of exact time frame
but still holding up well. Sure there's flaws here and there which is expected from a car that's driven. No major
issues that will stop you from the purchase of this car. I consider this a nice driver quality car that gets a lot
of looks and thumbs up. Now for the goods... There's redone frontend stainless, newer rechromed front and rear
bumpers, new 3 piece rear back panel, all new taillights & trim, lots of new emblems, and both outer mirrors. All
glass is in great shape and look to be the originals. Front windshield has a slight wiper mark on passenger
side...can probably be buffed out. All in all nice exterior.
Interior: Recently redone and shows very good to great. There's newer seat foam and black leather seat covers,
carpet & Impala floor mats, dash pad & padded cover, door panels, armrests & bases, inner door handles, all window
cranks, ashtrays, door sill plates, all pedal covers, headliner & visors, rear package tray, and door lock knobs,
etc, ...you get the idea. Dash is still original and shows real well .....Very nice interior !!
Motor & Transmission : I was told this is a numbers matching 283 motor & power glide transmission. I recently
installed a new chrome kit to clean up the look of the engine bay. I will include all the original parts to the new
buyer. There's new chrome valve covers, Chrome aircleaner, chrome Spectre valve cover breather, chrome alternator &
bracket, chrome thermostat housing, recorded radiator, new battery, new belt, and Optikleen bottle. This is a
factory power steering and power brake car and both work as they should with no leaks or problems. Transmission is
a power glide that shifts fine. You can use this car as a daily driver if needed...yes that reliable.
Rims & Tires: Car is currently rolling on a set of staggered Boss grey 20s & 18s with good tires. Rims have no
dents and no curb marks. I also have a set of stock 14 inch rims and tires and hubcaps if you prefer the car the
original look.
Rest of Car: Suspension, undercarriage, floors, exhaust, etc are all the original parts . Front and rear brakes and
wheel cylinders are new. Trunk pan is real solid with no signs of rust or soft spots. I recently speckle painted
the pan and added a new trunk mat, jacking instructions decal, and spare tire.
All in all this is a very solid car in and out that will bring you years and years of enjoyment. Above I've tried
to be as thorough as possible when describing my car. Please serious only contact me 408-71two-942seven. I price my
cars very reasonable.

There's an impending shortage of new trucks in America's heartland
Thu, May 21 2020URBANDALE, Iowa — Jerry Bill is worried the novel coronavirus could hurt business at the Des Moines auto dealership he runs, but not because of a shortage of buyers for the big Ram pickups on his lot. "Our biggest issue will be if we don't get more inventory," said Bill, general sales manager of Stew Hansen Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, which sells around 2,700 new vehicles a year in Urbandale, a suburb of Iowa's capital Des Moines. After a drop in sales in April when consumers stayed home, Bill expects pickup truck sales to end May similar to where they were a year earlier. And if demand remains strong, Bill said he will run out of popular models in June. Fiat Chrysler began slowly restarting Ram truck assembly lines on Monday after a two-month shutdown. The U.S. economy contracted in the first quarter at its sharpest pace since the Great Recession of 2007-2009 because of lockdown measures aimed at slowing the spread of the coronavirus. Economists warn the second quarter will be much worse. Still, far from the lockdowns of states like New York, Michigan or Ohio, dealerships like Stew Hansen have provided FCA and Detroit rivals General Motors and Ford a rare bright spot: strong sales of pickup trucks in America's heartland. Overall U.S. sales of cars and light trucks crashed to the weakest pace in 50 years last month. But sales of big Detroit brand pickups, particularly in southern and western states less affected by the outbreak, significantly outperformed the market, industry executives and analysts said. Pickup trucks are one of the most profitable automotive segments in the world. They account for a huge portion of the Detroit automakers' profits and formed a huge lure for Peugeot, which expects to merge with FCA by early 2021. The pressure is now on to boost pickup truck production and send vehicles to dealers in parts of the country with dwindling supplies. That is particularly true for GM, which is running short of certain truck models after losing 40 days of production to a strike last fall. "If you don't have what someone wants, they can choose to go to another brand," said Cox Automotive analyst Michelle Krebs. 'Easiest swap ever' Detroit automakers in March rolled out large discounts — such as interest-free loans for seven years — to keep vehicles rolling off dealer lots.
2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible is a Swiss hit
Mon, 04 Mar 2013We've just received an early peek at the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible here at the Geneva Motor Show. General Motors was kind enough to let us attend the final dress-rehearsal for its press conference scheduled for tomorrow's opening media day, and we've come away with a good look at the droptop C7 in person.
In the metal, the new Corvette Convertible seems somehow less avant-garde than the Coupe, even in Z51 Performance Package guise. That's not necessarily a bad thing - more of an observation. That initial impression may be because the C7's new greenhouse is one of its most prominent departures from Corvettes past. While we didn't get to see the top erected, there's no rear side window in the stock images that Chevy has already released, suggesting the C7 convertible's profile will look a lot like its C6 predecessor. And with the new power tonneau cover in place, there are also no rear ducts that come as part of the Z51 package (they've been moved under the car).
As with its predecessor, the tonneau is a handsome double-bubble piece, and the body-color "waterfall" element into the cabin between the seats has made it to the new model as well. Thus, the overall look with the top down should be a bit more familiar to prior-gen C6 owners - if you're one of those put off by the C7's new shape, you'll probably appreciate the convertible bodystyle more than the coupe.
GM says safety is a reason it's dropping Apple CarPlay, Android Auto
Tue, Dec 12 2023Update: GM sent us a statement as a follow-up to its original comments seen in this post: "We wanted to reach out to clarify that comments about GM's position on phone projection were misrepresented in previous articles and to reinforce our valued partnerships with Apple and Google and each company’s commitment to driver safety. GM's embedded infotainment strategy is driven by the benefits of having a system that allows for greater integration with the larger GM ecosystem and vehicles." The original story can be read in its entirety below.  General Motors announced its intention to remove Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality from its upcoming EVs earlier this year, and internet comments sections haven't been kind since. As the first of many EVs to follow – the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV – hits the market, GM is expanding on its initial explanations for dropping the tech. Motor Trend spoke with Tim Babbit, GMÂ’s head of product for infotainment, to learn more. Attributed to Babbit, from the story: “They have stability issues that manifest themselves as bad connections, poor rendering, slow responses, and dropped connections. And when CarPlay and Android Auto have issues, drivers pick up their phones again, taking their eyes off the road and totally defeating the purpose of these phone-mirroring programs. Solving those issues can sometimes be beyond the control of the automaker.” Babbit suggests that a world without Apple CarPlay or Android Auto will be a safer one, as folks wonÂ’t be looking to control their infotainment systems via their phones. However, Babbit also tells MT that this theory hasnÂ’t been tested in either the lab or the real world yet. Instead of using a navigation or music-playing app powered through your phone, upcoming GM EVs will use a Google-based infotainment system called “Ultifi” that runs a ton of integrated Google apps. Google Maps will be the native navigation app in the system; youÂ’ll be able to log in to Spotify or other apps to load your music up, and so on. The idea here is that youÂ’ll have all the same apps that were on your phone available but integrated within the infotainment system instead, and you'll be able to use voice controls to control every last bit of it with no need to reach for a phone. That sounds amenable in theory, but how consumers react to the removal of a feature that they know and love now is a risky gamble.
