For sale is a 2004 Chevrolet Express Conversion Van by Regency.  The van was custom built to the current owner’s specifications in 2004 by Regency Conversions in Fort Worth, TX.  The van started out as a standard Chevy Express Van factory-painted Bronze Mist, with a 5.3-liter V-8 and 4-speed automatic transmission.  Standard equipment includes front and rear disc brakes, air bags, power heated mirrors, power windows, power door locks, power front seats, tilt wheel, cruise control, AM/FM radio with CD/Cassette players, HD locking rear differential, and, most significantly, swing-out side cargo doors on both right and left sides.

The Regency additions include leather seating throughout, first and second row captains chairs (front seats are 6-way power adjustable), a third row bench seat that power reclines to create a bed, custom door/side trim and ceiling panels with real wood accents throughout, sport two-tone exterior paint, high-grade carpeting and floor mats, shade blinds at all windows behind the first row of seats, and separately-controlled rear overhead air conditioning vents for the second and third row of seats.  An additional cushion increases the size of the bed; it is currently removed to provide greater luggage space behind the third row, but is easily attached with 9 bolts and a 1/2 -inch wrench.  The ceiling trim contains center and side accent lighting.  The third row area is equipped with a separate AM/FM CD unit and four wireless headsets.

The current owner completed the customization by adding Weld alloy wheels, a Class IV hitch receiver and trailer lighting, billet grill insert, locking lug nuts, four Polk DXi650 speakers, Sirius satellite radio, and Garmin Navigation.  The Sirius receiver and the navigation unit are professionally wired to the ignition circuit; no cord and 12-volt adapters are necessary to avoid dash clutter.

The original Michelin tires lasted almost 75,000 miles with no unusual wear; a new set of Michelin M/S 2 LTX tires mounted on recently chromed Weld wheels really make this van sparkle, and the handling is superb.  This vehicle is ideal for road trips.  All seats recline and adjust for optimum time in the saddle.  The 30-gallon fuel tank provides a range of over 600 miles on regular gas.  The storage space behind the third row provides adequate luggage capacity for seven travelers.

This van has served us well over the last 10 years with no problems other than a minor water pump leak resulting in pump and coolant replacement.  Engine oil and filter has been changed every 4,000 miles using AC Delco filters and Pennzoil motor oil.  The fuel tank has usually been filled with Chevron gasoline.

If you are shopping for a quality van conversion that will likely provide trouble-free, stylish, comfortable, and convenient time on the road, this is it!  The second row seats are easily removable, allowing for a cavernous space to transport large items.  With the rear sofa reclined, it is possible to haul an item 12 feet in length!  A special feature is the cargo doors on both sides, which supports passenger convenience and easy cargo loading.  The side running boards provide easy access for the elderly.  The exterior of the van is near perfect:  no scratches, dents, parking lot dings, etc.  The leather seats are in excellent condition.  The factory carpeting has always been covered with auxiliary rugs and mats.  This van has always been garaged and will clear a 7-foot garage door opening and allow parking in many parking structures, which beats the limitations of a high-top van conversion.  You can pick this vehicle up in California and drive it home across country with confidence!  You will not be disappointed!

2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L vs Big Three-Row Crossovers | Spec comparison

Fri, Jan 8 2021

The three-row 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L is here, entering an ever-growing segment of big crossovers that Jeep has ignored since the Commander of the late 2000s. Of course, the Dodge Durango has basically been a three-row version of the current Grand Cherokee with Dodge styling and a different interior, so it's not like The Corporate Entity Formerly Known as Chrysler has been without a contender in the segment. Jeep is a stronger brand than Dodge, however, and the three-row midsize segment is stronger than those with two rows (there's a vast sales difference between the Chevrolet Traverse and Blazer, as well as the Honda Pilot and Passport). In other words, the Grand Cherokee L could be a very big deal. It is also, quite literally, a very big deal. As you're about to see, it is now the largest three-row crossover, besting the length, wheelbase and height of even the gargantuan Traverse. There's more to the story than that, however, so we put together the below comparison chart to show you how the new Grand Cherokee L lines up on paper versus the biggest three-row crossovers. That includes the 2021 Ford Explorer, 2021 Kia Telluride, 2021 Hyundai Palisade and 2022 Chevrolet Traverse. This group also represents some of the strongest entries in the segment as well as those we feel are most likely to be considered alongside the big Jeep. To that end, we also included the 2021 Lincoln Aviator in the chart since its base price is actually less than what we anticipate the luxurious, range-topping Grand Cherokee L Overland and Summit trim levels to start.  Engines and drivetrains Note the differences in curb weight here. The Grand Cherokee L has the highest base curb weight of the group apart from the high-lux Aviator, yet its 3.6-liter V6 has the least amount of power and torque. Therefore, it'll be surprising if it's not the slowest in the group. There's of course the Hemi V8 available on the top Overland and Summit trim levels, but again, a hefty curb weight works against it. At 5,330 pounds, the lightest V8-powered JGCL weighs 600 pounds more than V6-power Explorer Platinum and ST models. On the other hand, nothing can touch the Hemi Jeep's towing capacity, and only the 400-hp Aviator betters the Jeep's base V6. Its 6,200-pound towing capacity greatly outdoes the 5,000-pound limits of not only the Telluride, Palisade and Traverse, but most others in the segment as well.

2016 Chevy Silverado puts on a better face

Mon, Jul 13 2015

When Chevrolet introduced the redesigned Silverado pickup for 2014, you, our loyal readers, gave the new truck's front-end a lukewarm response. Aside from saying it was ugly, one commenter came to the far more damning conclusion that this brand-new vehicle already looked dated. For 2016, Chevy has attempted to address opinions like that, issuing a comprehensive facelift to its bread-and-butter pickup. Designers cut way back on the chrome for 2016, fitting a body-color strip across the middle of the grille and going to a single-headlight design. Combined with twin LED running lamps, the new look is much more modern while still harkening back to the retro-ish look introduced a few years back. The new truck also gets a much more muscular and aggressive hood, while the front bumper is significantly more modern, and features vertical housings for what look like LED foglights. The bad news, here, is that there's only one picture, shown above. We have no idea what changes Chevy has made to the rear of the pickup, nor do we know what other versions of the truck beyond the Z71 seen here may be available. The Bowtie brand did, however, confirm that we'd see a wider application of the eight-speed automatic transmission, as well as a new version of the MyLink infotainment system, which will play nice with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Look for much more on the freshened Silverado when it makes its official debut this fall. Until then, check out the press release and hop into Comments. We'd love to hear what you think about this facelift. 2016 Silverado: The New Face of Strong - Bolder, more sculpted look reflects Silverado strength, dependability - Available support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay - Expanded use of 8-speed transmissions; additional safety technologies DETROIT – Chevy Trucks are on a roll, with Chevrolet pickup sales up 32 percent so far this year. Chevrolet intends to strengthen this momentum with significant updates for the 2016 Silverado 1500 full-size pickup. "The redesigned 2016 Silverado will build on Chevy Trucks' legacy of dependability. It will feature a more muscular appearance and offer new customer-focused technologies," said Sandor Piszar, marketing director for Chevy Trucks.

Toyota tops Kelley Blue Book's Resale Value Awards

Tue, 27 Nov 2012

Kelley Blue Book announced its annual Best Resale Value Award winners, and we weren't too surprised to see the list dominated by Japanese automakers - mainly Toyota and Honda. KBB hands out the awards based on the projected residual value of mostly all 2013 model year vehicles, and Toyota skated home with a number of awards including 10 of the 22 overall categories and having five of its products in the top 10 for models with best resale value. KBB's Best Resale Value Awards were announced in the same week as the ALG Residual Value Awards, and there were many similarities between both lists, especially when it came to Toyota.
To come up with its winners, KBB measures depreciation over the first five years of ownership, and looks for the cars it expects to hold its value the best after this time; on average, the report says the 2013 model year vehicles will lose 61.8 percent of its value in five years. Of the 22 categories, 15 slots were filled by Toyota, Honda and Nissan products, while the Camaro and Porsche (Cayenne and Panamera) each took home a pair of awards. If Toyota has anything to be upset about in this list of cars, it's that categories for Hybrid/Alternative Energy Car and Electric Vehicle went to the Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Volt, respectively.
The overall top 10 models for the best resale value in 2013 are, in alphabetical order:
