Up for auction is a 2005 Chevy Equinox LT Sport Utility. Bought used from Simmons and Rockwell in Hornell NY in 2011.
133258 miles. Front Wheel Drive. Runs and drives great. No rust. Smoke free. Had new all weather tires put on it in November. New brakes and rotors put on it in May. Put a new tow hitch on it a month ago. There is a removable shelf in back of the car that can be moved into 3 different positions and has hooks for grocery bags. We occasionally took our tiny dog for a ride in it. It is currently registered and inspected. The repairs I am aware that it needs are as follows... The windshield wiper on the passenger side has stopped working, the muffler is coming apart at the weld, the drivers door will not open from the inside, as you can see in the pictures, it was taken apart to repair but not finished, a dent on the rear door of the car and the CD player has stopped working. There are stains on the carpet below the back passenger seats. There are minor scratches from normal wear and tear on the interior and exterior of the car. Vehicle sold as is. GM applies for LT5, LTX trademarks... are new small block variants coming?
Mon, 29 Apr 2013Recently discovered General Motors trademark applications for LT4, LT5, LT88 and LTX have observers wondering what kind of high-performance offerings could be on their way. A new LT4 would mark a return of the engine designation first used on the Corvette Grand Sport, SLP Pontiac Firehawk and SLP Chevrolet Camaro SS from 1996 and 1997. Supposition at Corvette Forum - which provided advance intel on the C7 like these leaked images - believes a new LT4 could go into the high-performance trim of the next-gen, 2015 Camaro that would be more powerful than the 580-horsepower Camaro ZL1.
Seeing an LT5 again would also be déjà vu - in its former life it was a 5.7-liter V8 for the C4 Corvette ZR-1 from 1990-1994 designed by Lotus, producing from 370 hp to 405 hp. A mix of rumor and hope is that the new LT5 will be a supercharged evolution of the 6.2-liter LT1 (pictured) placed in the new C7 Corvette, and that it will go into the C7 version of the ZR1 pumping out something like 700 hp.
The LTX trademark is, as with that last letter, a complete mystery. If the "X" isn't a generic way to denote the whole LT family, it's wondered if it LTX could refer to a crate motor offering like the LSX.

Chevrolet Captiva looks mildly refreshed and ready for family duty
Tue, 05 Mar 2013We showed you Chevrolet's major debut yesterday, the 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible, but General Motors is making a big push for Bowtie consideration in Europe, so it's also introducing the updated Captiva crossover here at the Geneva Motor Show.
While still based on the same platform as North America's fleet-only Captiva Sport (which is effectively a rebadged Saturn Vue), the Captiva is available in both five- and seven-seat iterations, and it looks far more modern. That's particularly the case with this updated model, which features revamped front- and rear ends that include restyled bumpers, grilles and LED taillamps, among other changes.
As before, the midsize Theta-platform CUV will be available in both front- and all-wheel drive, and is expected to carry a range of four- and six-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines. Important US programming note: Chevrolet sources tell us that America's Captiva Sport will not receive these updates.
