YOU ARE BIDDING ON A VERY NICE 78 EL CAMINO SS. I TOOK THIS IN ON A DEAL I DID RECENTLY AND IF YOU CAN TELL BY MY NAME I AM NOT REALLY INTO BOWTIES ALTHOUGH THEY ARE PRETTY COOL. IM SORRY IF I REFER TO IT AS A TRUCK AS THAT IS WHAT COME TO MIND WHEN I SEE IT. THIS CHEVY RUNS EXTREAMLY WELL. IT IS POWERED BY ITS ORIGINAL 350 4BBL AUTO COMBO AND IT WORKS FLAWLESSLY. SUSPENSION RIDES WELL AND DOES NOT SHAKE OR WANDER ON THE ROAD EVEN AT HIGH SPEED. THE EXTERIOR IS VERY NICE AS WELL WITH WHAT I WOULD GRADE AS A NICE DRIVER QUALITY PAINT JOB AND I DONT SEE SIGNS OF RUST ANY WHERE. I HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE ON A LIFT AND ALL FLOORS AND FRAME ARE 100% SOLID WITH ONLY THE USUAL SURFACE RUST PRESENT. I HAVE HAD IT PARKED IN SEVERAL DIFFERENT PLACES AND HAVE NOT NOTICED ANY LEAKS ANYWHERE BUT I HAVE ONLY HAD IT A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. THE INTERIOR NEEDS A FEW ITEMS MOSTLY DOOR PANELS, INNER DOOR HANDLES, HEADLINER AND UPER DASH PAD AS WELL AS SOME OF THE PERIMETER PLASTIC PIECES WHICH I HAVE ALL FOUND AND PRICED HERE ON EBAY FOR UNDER 400.00. ALSO, ALL GUAGES WORK EVENT THE TACH AND CLOCK BUT THE SPEEDOMETER STOPPED WORKING A FEW DAYS AGO AND I HAVE NOT HAD A CHANCE TO CHECK WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. ALSO THE PASSENGER SIDE MIRROR IS MISSING BUT THOSE ARE ALSO AVAILABLE AT ANY OF THE AUTO PARTS STORES. ALL LIGHTS AND TURN SIGNALS WORK PROPERLY AND THE TIRES ARE ABOUT 90%. aLL EXTERIOR TRIM AND CHROME IS PRESENT AND IN NICE CONDITION. IT WONT TAKE MUCH TO MAKE THIS A TRUE STAND OUT SO HERE IS YOUR CHANCE TO OWN A NICE EXAMPLE AT A BARGAIN PRICE. I HAVE A BUY IT NOW PRICE BUT MY RESERVE IS A LITTLE LESS. IM OPEN TO TRADES BUT ONLY OF THE MOPAR VARIETY ALL OTHER DONT EVEN ASK. DEPOSIT DUE WITHIN 48 HOURS FROM AUCTIONS END AND THE BALANCE WITHIN 7 DAYS. FLY IN AND DRIVE IT HOME OR I WILL HELP COORDINATE WITH YOUR SHIPPING ARRANGEMENTS. INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS OK AND 0 ( ZERO ) OR 10 OR LESS FEEDBACK BIDDERS MUST CONTACT ME BEFORE BIDDING. pLEASE ASK QUESTIONS IF SOMETHING IS NOT CLEAR OTHERWISE THIS VEHICLE IS OFFERED AS IS. Chevy Bolt EV, Chrysler Pacifica, Honda Ridgeline take 2017 NACTOY prizes
Mon, Jan 9 2017Every year the 2017 North American International Auto Show kicks off with the North American Car of the Year Awards. We say "awards" after all those mentions of our home continent because it's not just cars. This year, in fact, the awards spread out to three separate honors: Car, Truck, and Utility. And without further ado, here are the winners. The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV is the Car of the Year, the Honda Ridgeline is the Truck of the Year, and the Chrysler Pacifica is the Utility of the Year. Honda's win is perhaps the biggest surprise, upsetting favorite the Ford F Super Duty for the win. The second-generation Ridgeline rides on a unibody platform and is offered in front- or all-wheel-drive, which is unconventional for a pickup. But the layout also offers a cargo bed with an in-floor trunk and solid fuel economy figures of 19 city, 26 highway in its most-efficient form. The Chevy Bolt EV, however, was probably the easiest winner to predict. Its 238-mile range and sub-$30,000 starting price after tax credits make it a breakthrough in the landscape of electric vehicles. With the Chrysler Pacifica available in a plug-in hybrid form, this year's award illustrates the industry's shift towards efficiency and electrification. And with Ford's recent announcement on future EVs, it might not be long will it be until we see a hybrid truck on the award stage as well.Related Video:

Meet Alex Archer, the engineer behind GM's power-sliding center console
Sat, Feb 15 2020In 2009, a GM manager complained to a 59-year-old GM technician about the hassle of retrieving items from a pickup truck bed after driving shifted the cargo. In two days, the tech had come up with the ideas that, ten years later, would debut as the MultiPro tailgate. The engineering teams kept the tailgate secret in part by hiding mock-ups in a locked storage closet in GM's Vehicle Engineering Center in Warren Michigan for two years. A piece in the Detroit Free Press reveals that another storage closet in Warren would play the same role in a different cloak-and-dagger operation, this time for the power-sliding center console in GM's new full-sized SUVs. During a meeting in early 2017, bosses gave the job of the console's creation to 24-year-old design release engineer Alex Archer, just two years out of Stanford University with a degree in engineering and product design. This time, the catalyst for the feature was an internal GM think tank called co:lab, where employees suggest ideas. Execs gave Archer the task because "They needed someone willing to ask a lot of questions," her 36-month mandate to produce a six-way console that could be a standard cubby or a gaping maw able to swallow four gallon jugs or hide a secret compartment. Clearly, she succeeded. It took Archer and the team nine months to devise a prototype, another six months to get the green light for production. As with the tailgate, the team working on the console grew to include designers, production engineers, and suppliers. Archer, now 26, shepherded the process, and her name is on the patent. "It took a ton of people, I'm just somebody who stuck with it the whole time," she said. GM like her work well enough to produce the "Day in the Life" segment above, five months before the world would hear about the console. Archer's path to engineering was as unlikely as getting the job for the console. She had entered Stanford with plans to be a doctor. But an innovation class during her freshman year, and a sophomore summer spent helping her grandfather rebuild a 1937 MG engine recharted her course. Her grandfather told her, "You know, you could be an engineer for a car company." Consumer reaction to Archer's work won't be far off, the SUVs slated to hit dealerships soon. Meanwhile, she's busy on something that could be just as intense as the console: Restoring a 1955 Packard Clipper in her garage. Head to Freep to check out the story of Archer and the console.
