1977 Chevrolet El Camino on 2040-cars

1977 Chevrolet El Camino Where do I start? Well, here it is, a 1977 Chevy El Camino that I've owned since 2002 with a Clean California Title. I've always loved El Camino's and I bought this car 12 years ago because I wanted to restore it back to its glory some day when I had extra money. I've gone through some ups & downs and that extra money never came my way. So I made the decision to sell it and let someone else enjoy it. Before I posted it for sale on ebay, I wanted to make sure the car was in nice shape to drive everyday, so I had the car painted. I changed the oil, replaced the spark plugs, wires and distributor cap. The engine runs great! The transmission shifts well and runs great also. This car is not a show car but I can send you more photos if you send me your email address. As you can see from the photos, the car needs a lot of tender love and care. The power windows go up and down but the hardware is loose and windows wobble. The moulding & trim around the doors and interior are good in some areas and loose in other areas. The power steering works. This car does not overheat! The air and heater work and the AC compressor is functional. However, I don't have access to R-12 freon and I can't recharge the AC system. The smog pump works but it's not installed. I'll include it with the sale of the vehicle. There is surface rust on under the car but no rot! If I've missed any details, please email me with your questions. I encourage you to inspect this car before the auction ends because this car is being sold as-is. Buyer must pay $100 deposit within 24 hours via Paypal and the rest to be paid upon pickup of the vehicle. Deposit is non-refundable. |

National Corvette Museum to recreate sinkhole experience for patrons [UPDATE]
Sun, May 10 2015UPDATE: The Thunderdome at the National Corvette Museum is not a ride; instead it's an experience that mixes digital graphics and thundering sound. For a brief period, it looked like the National Corvette Museum was going to preserve that sinkhole that ate eight important 'Vettes last year. After all, tourism boomed there afterwards. However, keeping the crater would have been more expensive than just doing the repairs. The museum isn't ready to let people completely forget, though, and now intends to make a major attraction out of a recreated version of the calamity. The museum's plan turns the sinkhole disaster into an amusement park ride called the Thunderdome, according to GM Authority. In a smaller recreation of the Skydome, 15 people at a time would get to watch an imitation of the sinkhole devouring the eight Corvettes. To make the experience even more immersive, visitors would get to view this all from an artificial, underground cave. If you missed seeing the actual pit, this would certainly be a bizarre way to experience it. According to GM Authority, the exhibit would also include an explanation of how sinkholes occur. The Corvette museum reportedly wants the attraction open by this fall.
GM Halts Sale Of Most Chevy Cruze Models
Fri, Mar 28 2014General Motors has told dealers to stop selling some 2013 and 2014 Chevrolet Cruze compact cars. But the company won't say why. Dealers say stop-sale orders are routine and almost always made to fix a safety problem. They received the order in an e-mail Thursday, but no reason was given. The move comes as GM deals with fallout from a delayed recall of 1.6 million older small cars to fix an ignition switch problem. The company says the switches can slip out of the run position and shut down the engine. That causes loss of power steering and brakes and disables air bags. GM says the problem has been linked to 31 crashes and at least a dozen deaths. Spokesman Greg Martin says he has no details on the Cruze. GM throttles back Chevy Malibu, Buick LaCrosse production over swollen inventories
Wed, 06 Feb 2013As inventory of the Chevrolet Malibu and Buick LaCrosse continues to pile up, General Motors will be idling its Fairfax Assembly Plant for two weeks, according to Automotive News. This move comes about a month after the plant was shut down for three weeks in late December and early January for the same reason. As of January 31, the GM had a 94-day supply of Malibu stock while the LaCrosse was a little worse with a 117-day supply.
Just last week, GM announced that it would be investing $600 million in upgrading this plant, but it's unclear what future plans the company has in store for Fairfax considering slow sales of both the plant's models. We do expect a refreshed and more luxurious LaCrosse shortly and an early design update for the Malibu to be announced at some point this year, although we have had no official word as to when either will happen.
