Up for bid here is a '76 Elcamino conquista cloned to a SS. This car was purchased from a individual in Branson MO and drove home here to NC then the restoration began. The car was stripped and painted all chrome redone including the bumpers, all new powertrain, exhaust, tires, wheels, and more. The miles on the car were told to be accurate by the previous owner. The engine was built with all the best of the best parts roller everything, gear drive, healthy cam, new carb etc.(no expense spared) Same with the tranny. Also has vintage air and serpentine billet belt system. Firewall is slick and engine compartment detailed very nice. Thousands have been spent on this car and the reserve is not even half of what has been spent here just need to sell to fund some other interests at the moment. The only pieces the car needs is the front bumper filler panel below the grill (painter misplaced it) and one black rubber piece on one of the bumper guards. Power windows were also added but the holes are still in the door panels where the manual cranks were. This car runs out nice and sounds mean it hits a nasty lick. It's not a trailer queen show car but a heck of nice cruiser the interior is nice but needs a little attention to small details. I am selling this on here for a friend and trying to tell everything I know and have been told but I am sure I am leaving something out he can answer any questions you have and feel free to call him his # is 919 740 0007 ask for Robert. Car is for sale locally and I have the right to end this auction at anytime. There is no warranty on this car As is Where is. Feel free to come and inspect and drive.

 Thanks for looking

2014 Chevrolet C7 Corvette wastes no time zooming into Jay Leno's Garage

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

Where else would you expect the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray to show up first? Although this time it isn't exactly in Jay Leno's Garage, Leno instead playing an away game at Brown's Classic Auto in Scottsdale, Arizona. Nor does Leno drive the car, instead taking an 11-minute walkaround of the new American sports car with General Motors design head Ed Welburn, the same man who recently brought by a string of classic Corvettes to the talk show host's California compound.
It is, admittedly, a love-fest for the American sports car now featuring 450 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque, but one that also features admissions about previous Corvette seats like "they were kinda rough," and the explanation that labeling the coupe "Stingray" means not having to call it "the base Corvette." On top of that, Welburn also explains the proper application of the term "dashboard." You can watch it all in the video below.

Indian tuner turns Chevy Optra into Mustang 'Eleanor' replica

Fri, 03 Aug 2012

If you are a big fan of automotive oddities, this may come as a little treat. If you are a Shelby or Mustang diehard, prepare to have your sensibilities violated.
The master fabricators at BigDaddyCustoms are the minds behind what you see above. At first, it appears to be a slightly misshapen custom Mustang, modeled after "Eleanor" from Gone In 60 Seconds, but upon further examination, something appears to be amiss. In fact, the custom shop, based in India, has created an Eleanor replica grafted upon a lowly Chevrolet Optra. While it may take a second for the Optra to ring a bell, you should recognize its badge-engineered sibling, the Daewoo Lacetti, used on Top Gear.
We don't know what star would opt for the Reasonably Priced Car in Shelby's clothing, but it's clearly someone more concerned with the aesthetic than the performance credentials of this automotive mash-up.

"Turbo" Chevrolet Camaro is a 700-HP fantasy car come to life [w/video]

Thu, 07 Feb 2013

For a concept car built to promote an animated movie about a snail that wants to go racing, this thing ain't half bad. The outsized monster you see before you started life as a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, and then went through a big-time Hollywood makeover before being positioned on the Chevrolet stand here in Chicago.
This 2013 "Turbo" Camaro Coupe is getting the promotion machine ratcheted up for a new DreamWorks tale by the name of, you guessed it, Turbo. Coming this summer, the movie will follow one snail's quest to become a race driver worthy of making the cut at the Indy 500. Like many DreamWorks vehicles before it, we're guessing that the petrolhead snail will star in a movie that adults (especially racing fans) with have no trouble watching with their kids. Check out the trailer below to see if you agree.
As for the car, we're told that it is "instrumental" in transforming Turbo from snail into racer. Helping the beastly pony car in this mighty task, is an ankle-cracking front splitter matched by a ungodly huge rear wing out back, a COPO hood and a supercharged (yes, supercharged) V8 engine making more than 700 horsepower. 24-inch wheels all the way around - 10-inches wide in front and 15-inches wide in back - should allow the "Turbo" Camaro to hook up with ease, as well.
