For Sale: 1968 Chevrolet El Camino 350 4-speed!!! Strong running engine with BIG cam, headers and new bullet mufflers with turn downs! Aftermarket aluminum intake manifold, valve covers and Edelbrock carb. Has HEI ignition as well! It has a Hot Rod Hurst shifter linkage with a separate reverse lever for safety. Nice Chevrolet Rally Wheels with excellent tires! Very solid body with very little rust. The drivers floor pan was patched by a previous owner....it's functional but could be better. There are some pinholes in the floor behind the seat on the drivers side that will need a patch. There looks to be some rust forming in the lower corners of the rear window under the trim as usual but all in all a very solid rust free Northwest vehicle!!! The interior will need redone but it's all there except the passengers side door panel. The primer on the passengers side is there due to a dent that was removed above the wheel well according to the previous owner. It appears the door was replaced as well. The El Camino has a KILLER stance and sounds Bad AZZ!!! This would be a great father/son project or just a daily cruiser!

This is your 2014 Chevrolet SS
Sat, 16 Feb 2013Think you've waited long enough for this? If so, then you'll want to savor the high-res photos we've so far been given of the 2014 Chevrolet SS, the first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan from The Bowtie in 17 years.
We all know its our version of the brand new VF-model Holden Commodore, but what's under the hood that earns the appellation "performance?" A 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine producing 415 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. That's 35 hp and lb-ft less than the same engine is expected to produce in the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette. Chevrolet says the sedan will get from 0-to-60 miles per hour "in about five seconds."
Shifting comes courtesy of a six-speed automatic with paddles on the steering wheel, while stopping arrive via four-piston Brembo calipers up front, a single sliding piston in back. The forged aluminum wheels are 19-inchers all around, each set supporting right around 50 percent of the sedan's weight, and the aluminum hood and trunk are meant to keep the center of gravity low.

Read This: Auto Extremist advocates for Corvette as brand with multiple models [w/poll]
Fri, 25 Jan 2013The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette really grinds Peter De Lorenzo's gears. Or, more accurately, the self-anointed Auto Extremist has an issue with what he sees as mismanagement of the legendary sports car by General Motors executives. In a new editorial on his website, De Lorenzo argues it's time to split Corvette off from Chevrolet to create an all-new brand, complete with a model range with at least three new takes on the sports car. Capable of fully leveraging the successes of the Corvette Racing program and brandishing the full might of GM's technical prowess, the Corvette brand would theoretically give Porsche something to sweat over.
Sure, that sounds like a party, but given GM's troubled track record when it comes to launching (let alone managing) brands, we say that's slippery slope that could just as easily end with the whole Corvette franchise in the scrap bin. Either way, the notion is certainly an interesting one. Head over to Auto Extremist to take in the full editorial, and then let us know what you think in Comments. Should GM split off its most storied nameplate?
