Up for auction is my 1986 red C4 Corvette with only 56,000 original miles and in excellent condition for the year.

I'm 59 years old and purchased the car 12 years ago from a Chevy fleet service manager that kept the car in perfect condition.

The car was never left outside and was always kept in my heated garage under a cover summer and winter.

It has a 350 motor with the 4+3 standerd transmission.

Michlin tires, am fm cassette, removable center roof, power seats, p steering, air, rear window defroster, p mirrors, p door locks, p windows, back compartment sun cover, security alarm system with coded keys, brake dust covers, mud flaps, new battery last spring, ehaust like new, red interior, power rear hatch window, removable center roof with storage mounts in the back hatch area.

The paint is original and in exceptional  condition.

It was tuned up at 45,000 miles, runs perfect and is in exceptional condition with no none mechanical issues.

I never used the air conditioner but i'm sure it will need to be recharged if you plan to use it.

The rims are original and in very nice condition.

The pilot tires are in very good condition with even wear and good tread.

The ehaust is perfect.

It's been serviced every 3,000 miles with Mobile one full synthetic oil.

The transmission shifts smooth and was serviced last spring.

The brakes are fine and passed NH STATE inspection less than 1,500 miles ago.

I can't say enough about this Corvette!

Read This: Auto Extremist advocates for Corvette as brand with multiple models [w/poll]

Fri, 25 Jan 2013

The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette really grinds Peter De Lorenzo's gears. Or, more accurately, the self-anointed Auto Extremist has an issue with what he sees as mismanagement of the legendary sports car by General Motors executives. In a new editorial on his website, De Lorenzo argues it's time to split Corvette off from Chevrolet to create an all-new brand, complete with a model range with at least three new takes on the sports car. Capable of fully leveraging the successes of the Corvette Racing program and brandishing the full might of GM's technical prowess, the Corvette brand would theoretically give Porsche something to sweat over.
Sure, that sounds like a party, but given GM's troubled track record when it comes to launching (let alone managing) brands, we say that's slippery slope that could just as easily end with the whole Corvette franchise in the scrap bin. Either way, the notion is certainly an interesting one. Head over to Auto Extremist to take in the full editorial, and then let us know what you think in Comments. Should GM split off its most storied nameplate?

GM recalls select Chevy Cruze, Sonic and Buick Verano models over airbag issue

Wed, 14 Nov 2012

General Motors is recalling certain 2012 Buick Verano, Chevrolet Cruze and Sonic models due to a defect in the driver's airbag system. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the airbag has a shorting bar which may contact two internal terminals. If that happens during a crash, the supplemental restraint may not deploy, increasing the risk of driver injury. The recall includes a total of 2,949 units.
GM will contact owners and replace the steering wheel airbag coil at no cost. At this point, it's unclear when the recall will begin, though owners may contact the automaker at 1-800-521-7300 for more information. You may also take a closer look at the full NHTSA notice below.

Tarantino's stolen Chevy Malibu from Pulp Fiction recovered after 19 years [w/video]

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

Quentin Tarantino fans will likely remember Vincent Vega's cherry 1964 Chevrolet Malibu Convertible in Pulp Fiction. In a movie drenched in automotive references, the Malibu is very nearly a character in and of itself, and it serves as the subject of Vega's soliloquy about the kind of man who vandalizes another's automobile. It also happened to be Tarantino's personal car when the film was shot, and was apparently stolen shortly after production wrapped. Now police have located the car some 19 years later.
As it turns out, the thieves cloned the vehicle identification number from another '64 Malibu and had the car registered under the new digits. It was then sold to an unsuspecting buyer. Police happened upon the duplicate VINs while investigating another potential theft. Right now, it's unclear whether Tarantino has taken possession of the Chevrolet, if it has remained in the possession of the fraud victim, or whether it's caught somewhere in the gears of justice. Either way, you can catch Vega's memorable thoughts on the car keying in the Pulp Fiction clip below. But consider yourself warned: the video contains explicit language as Not Safe For Work as it comes.
