2008 - Chevrolet Corvette on 2040-cars
Leslie, Arkansas, United States
2008 Corvette Z06 2LZ. Very clean car in excellent condition. 30,060 miles. I hate to sell but need to free up some money and get rid of a payment to support a growing family. Car is a leisure vehicle and is only driven on nice sunny days. If there is even a 10% chance of rain, the car is left at home in the garage. Never driven in the rain. Very well taken care of and meticulously maintained. Always adult driven and taken care of. If you’re in the market for a C6 Z06 then you already know what these cars are capable of. This car has a bit more than most stock Z06s. I’ve had many performance cars of all eras and I can honestly say this is the most fun car I’ve had the pleasure of driving. The car has never been tracked or raced. Always garage kept. Non smoker. Car came from the factory with a sticker of $77,290 and about $15,000 in parts and labor have been put into the car since then. Factory options include: -2LZ preferred equipment group -Navigation system -Power telescoping steering wheel -Black heated memory leather seats -Universal home remote -Steering wheel radio controls -Bose sound system Car has had a lot of tasteful mods and such. I'll try to list them all as best I can although I’m, sure I’m missing some stuff. There is a 1” thick folder full of receipts for all work that has been done. Everything has been meticulously documented. Appearance: -ZR1 body kit (front splitter, side skirts and rear spoiler) -LG World Challenge hood with 427 badges -West Coast Custom 3 piece chrome wheels. WCC 944 Forged Series. 20x12 rear, 19.5 front ($5,000+ set of wheels) -Car is lowered about 1/2 inch -Tinted windows -Sequential turn signal harness for rear taillights -Red interior LED lighting -Clear bra on front and mirrors -Z06 floormats -Z06 trunkmat -custom body colored front license plate frame (not currently mounted) Performance: -American Racing long tube headers -Vararam Snake Charmer CAI -Elite Engineering oil catch can -Mild2Wild exhaust controller -Muffler mod -Custom made coil covers -Custom tuned at Wong's Performance by Tom Wong in Vancouver, WA -505 RWHP (about 600 or so at the crank) See chassis dyno picture -MSD spark plug wires The tires are continental extreme contact DW. 325-25-20 rear and 275-30-19 front. About 70% life on fronts and about 50% life left on rears. There is nothing wrong with the car. The car is flawless except for a few minor scrapes on the bottom side of the front splitter which is to be expected. Car has a clean title and clear carfax. There is no warranty for this car and it is being sold as is. Car is in extremely nice shape. I really hate to sell but it has to go. I am not desperate so please don’t make any ridiculously low offers. I will be happy to answer any questions. I understand that this is a big purchase so if you are serious and would like to speak with me please message me your phone number and a decent time to reach you and I’ll be happy to give a call. Please no tire kickers or dreamers. I have a job that requires a lot of hours and I value my time outside of work with my family. If you are not serious please don’t waste my time or yours and please do not bid or place an offer if you are not serious and do not have the funds or an approved loan.

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible is a Swiss hit
Mon, 04 Mar 2013We've just received an early peek at the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible here at the Geneva Motor Show. General Motors was kind enough to let us attend the final dress-rehearsal for its press conference scheduled for tomorrow's opening media day, and we've come away with a good look at the droptop C7 in person.
In the metal, the new Corvette Convertible seems somehow less avant-garde than the Coupe, even in Z51 Performance Package guise. That's not necessarily a bad thing - more of an observation. That initial impression may be because the C7's new greenhouse is one of its most prominent departures from Corvettes past. While we didn't get to see the top erected, there's no rear side window in the stock images that Chevy has already released, suggesting the C7 convertible's profile will look a lot like its C6 predecessor. And with the new power tonneau cover in place, there are also no rear ducts that come as part of the Z51 package (they've been moved under the car).
As with its predecessor, the tonneau is a handsome double-bubble piece, and the body-color "waterfall" element into the cabin between the seats has made it to the new model as well. Thus, the overall look with the top down should be a bit more familiar to prior-gen C6 owners - if you're one of those put off by the C7's new shape, you'll probably appreciate the convertible bodystyle more than the coupe.
Chevy, GMC and Ram dealers are worried they'll run out of new pickups
Wed, May 6 2020One of the unexpected side effects of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic is a shortage of pickups at Chevrolet, GMC and Ram dealers. Supplies are running out, and the factories that build these trucks remain closed. Stores across the nation began increasing incentives in March, when the first stay-at-home orders were issued, in a bid to continue luring buyers into showrooms. They also launched online sales channels, or expanded their existing digital business. Sales nonetheless plummeted in April 2020, but in-demand vehicles, like the Ram 1500 and the Chevrolet Silverado, are still selling relatively well thanks in part to the aforementioned incentives. Pickups outsold sedans for the first time in April 2020, according to The Detroit News, by 17,000 units. The problem is that General Motors, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), and Ford temporarily closed their factories in March. "The pipeline is very dry," said Mike Maroone, the CEO of a large dealership group named Maroone USA, in an interview with Automotive News. He told the publication his Chevrolet stores are sitting on a 30-day supply of the Silverado, which is one of America's best-selling vehicles. "That is a problem for us," he concluded. Coronavirus-related lockdowns and factory closures compound problems already faced by dealerships who represent General Motors-owned brands. They entered 2020 with a thinner inventory than a year earlier due to the 40-day United Auto Workers (UAW) strike that paralyzed the company late in 2019, and the 0%, 84-month offers announced in March have sapped supply. Ram wasn't affected by a strike, but it has relied heavily on generous incentives to move trucks off lots. Ford, on the other hand, limited incentives to 2019 models. Inventory levels differ greatly from region to region. The national average for the Silverado stood at an 82-day supply in March 2020, down from 120 in March 2019. Ram stores had a 114-day supply of the 1500 (compared to 134 a year earlier), while Ford bucked that trend with a 111-day supply versus 84 in 2019. Don't panic if you're in the market for a truck; we're not facing a complete drought. Automotive News added that America's light-duty pickup inventory could fall to 400,000 units by the end of May, and drop further to 260,000 units in June. For context, there were about 700,000 light-duty trucks in stock in May and June of 2019. That's unquestionably a sharp drop, but there will still be over a quarter of a million trucks to choose from.
Take a close look at the guts of the Chevy Volt battery, powertrain
Sat, Aug 9 2014Just how intimate would you like to get with the powertrain in a Chevy Volt? If you're anything like YouTube user d55guy, then spending a half hour filming yourself taking apart the battery pack, motor, inverter and more for a look inside sounds like your idea of fun. After all, this way you get to see the cooling system, the heavy safety kill switch and count up the individual cells in the battery modules. Fun! Turns out, we also enjoy languidly paced Volt dissection video goodness, and we think you might want to see it as well. So, we've embedded two videos below and if you don't have a better understanding of how the Volt is put together after watching them, well, at least you can't say we never tried to show you anything. Given that what's really happening here is the organized 'destruction' of an expensive and potentially dangerous object, let's talk safety. There's a serious disclaimer at the beginning of the videos and on the YouTube description page, but we feel the need to repeat the gist of it here: do not try this at home. The creator of the video says he is a trained engineer and has been doing things like this "for the better part of a decade," so he apparently knows what he's doing. With that in mind, watch it all below. When you're done seeing the insides of a Volt powertrain up close, if you need more filmed EV dissection/destruction, check out this video designed for first responders approaching a damaged Tesla Model S.
