2001 Black Z06 Corvette Front Clip 30k Miles Runs & Drives on 2040-cars
Plattsburgh, New York, United States

We are offering this 2001 Z06 Corvette for rebuilding/salvage only. The car was bought out of Virginia and we will provide a bill of sale. As the photos show, it has front end damage. The car has only 30,194 original miles on it. This Corvette starts right up, shifts fine and was driven into the garage for the pictures you see. It was originally purchased as a future project but the owners plans have changed. Other than dust from sitting, the interior is complete and in very nice cosmetic condition. The doors open and close fine, the trunk also works as it should. I have included many pictures showing the under carriage and engine compartment of this Corvette. There is nothing broken or leaking on the engine/tranny. All of the tires show 30K wear, all of the factory wheels look to be in good condition. PLEASE NOTE: The car is offered with NO WARRANTY...completely AS IS. A great project Z06 Corvette with low miles offered at a fair price. There is a $500.00 deposit required upon purchase and the car MUST be picked up within seven (7) days of sale. This car is currently housed at a transportation museum. I will arrange to meet you there for pickup. Transportation/shipping of this Corvette is the sole responsibility of the buyer, so please have your method of pickup in place before you decide to buy. Thanks for looking!

That time we lapped Indy with Tony Kanaan in a Corvette Z06
Sat, May 23 2015We're here in Indianapolis, IN, attending this weekend's 99th running of the Indy 500. The big event happens tomorrow, but the city is buzzing today with all sorts of pre-race festivities. For us, that means checking out Indianapolis Motor Speedway a day early, and getting a hot lap around the racetrack in the official Indy 500 pace car – a 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Our driver for the occasion is IndyCar racer Tony Kanaan, who won the Indianapolis 500 in 2013. Of course, he'll be competing tomorrow, leaving pace duties to none other than Jeff Gordon. Check out our minute-and-a-half-long lap of the Indy 500 track in the video above, where Kanaan hugs the wall in true race style, getting the Z06 past 150 miles per hour on the back straight. Stay tuned for more Indy 500 coverage later this weekend.
Jay Leno joins the dark side with Darth Vader's car
Mon, Dec 14 2015There still isn't a better Star Wars villain than Darth Vader. The Sith Lord defines menacing with his black suit, deep voice, and a penchant for choking underlings. Maybe The Force Awakens can introduce a better bad guy when the film hits theaters in the coming days, but Vader remains king until then. Jay Leno now shows some respect for the dark side of the force by welcoming Darth's car into his garage. This isn't just the tiny Hot Wheels toy, but the fully drivable version that premiered last year at San Diego Comic-Con. The car's design clearly evokes Vader's iconic helmet, but it still looks like a mean hot rod. Designer Bryan Benedict also shows Leno a few other Star Wars touches in the styling, like the light saber side pipes and Imperial logos on the wheels. One of the coolest features is that the roof rises out of the way to let in passengers, which is a small nod to a scene from The Empire Strikes Back. Underneath the Vader-inspired shape, the car uses a heavily modified C6 Chevrolet Corvette platform, and Jay gets to take it for a short drive. Leno even leans into the dark side with some maniacal laughter while behind the wheel. Related Video:
Big discounts on 2015 Chevy Volt before 2016 model arrives
Wed, Apr 22 2015Having not driven it yet, this writer thinks the 2016 Chevrolet Volt appears to be an excellent update to country's flagship hybrid. The current car, though, still has plenty to offer and can hold its Bowtie high. If you'd rather save money on a 2015 than have the latest technology, a Cars Direct rundown of incentives and lease deals on a 2015 Volt shows that fruit is ready to be plucked. With plenty of the current model year on dealer lots, Chevy has more than doubled the rebate to $2,500, and offers 2.9-percent financing for 48 months. If you want to lease, the signing payment is now only $500, down from $1,499. You can get that down to zero dollars if you're trading in a competitor. Payments for 39 months are reduced $50, to $249. So it's officially open season for hardcore Volt haggling. Admittedly, though, it will probably only get better as we get close to the 2016s rolling into dealerships, so you can start lining up a deal now but know your position will only strengthen as the weeks pass.
