Daytona blue on black vinyl interior.  327/300 HP 4spd manual.  Rare 63 Split Window Stingray Coupe.  Early production car with storage wells under seats. Date code correct engine, see below.  Data plate info--style 63837  trim--std  body--1662  paint--916A

Selling for my dad who has owned it about 15 years.  Great driving, looking car!  Previous owner had all the suspension and brakes done front to back, springs, shocks, trailing arms, bushings, steering linkage, drum brakes.

Car was repainted very nicely done prior to that no history on when but still shines great.  no overspray no masking marks door jambs done.  There are a few nicks and scuffs here and there from age and use but they are minor, the car shows very very well.

All chrome and stainless trim is in good condition.  Bumpers are nice.  All original glass in excellent condition, windshield is a replacement but also nice.

Black vinyl interior, believed to be original in good shape.  Carpet definitely looks original and is nice.  Seats also but drivers bottom has a small [2"] split.  Guage bezel is original showing minor patina but is uncracked and compliments the originality of the interior.  Nice console with minor wear on aluminum around shifter nothing major.  We put a new headliner in and resprayed all the surrounding trim years ago.  The headliner has since come unstuck in a spot needs to be re glued, its still perfect and its a plastic replacement so its perfectly reusable.

Drivetrain is the 327-300Hp 4spd manual.  Starts, runs, drives, stops, steers EXCELLENT.  we pulled the heads due to worn guides a couple years ago and had the heads completely re done new valves, modern valve seals.  At that time did the research on numbers matching or not and have concluded it is not but it IS date code correct for the block, heads, intake.  Block #3782870  K202 [Nov 20 1962]   Heads are 10-1962.  intake # 3866922   the front pass side pad of the block is FI2IOS dont know what that means.  We dont claim to be vette experts but have shown these numbers to one who confirms the date code correctness.  We also painted and detailed the top end when it was apart.  Engine compartment is very nice clean and correct minus the air cleaner and holley carb on it [do have the original carb goes with but not the air cleaner]

Underneath is pretty clean as well not rusty and crusty, nice solid frame, nice 2 1/2" exhaust with stainless mufflers. Few drips around engine [mostly needs oil pan gasket]  couple on trans and rear end,  just seepage leaks.  Tires are nearly new [couple years but little miles] they have the correct whitewall on the inside facing of car [dad chose the blackwall look with option to turn them around possibilty for originality]  We also did all new u joints on driveshaft and rear half shafts

This is a solid complete great looking and driving 63. Not a show car but very very NICE car.  I describe things as they are Ive sold many high end cars here and other places and my descriptions are honest and critical.  Have many more pics and can take some of whatever youd like, feel free to contact for questions.  Reserve is quite fair considering what these cars are going for these days, but reserve wont be disclosed, bid what you can afford and feel its worth.  Everything works on it except wipers [needs motor repaired]

$1000 NON REFUNDABLE deposit due within 48hrs after auction ends.  Balance due before car pickup via wire transfer.  Please contact me if you have less than 5 positive feedbacks before bidding.

Sunday Drive: Performance comes in many shapes and sizes

Sun, Nov 19 2017

The Chevrolet Corvette has always stood out as a bastion of reasonably priced performance, and the latest 'Vette has that in spades. And while its expected starting price of around $120,000 certainly isn't cheap, it's an undeniable deal in the supercar world – remember, this thing'll do 210 miles per hour thanks to its 755-horsepower supercharged V8 engine. And did you get a load of that massive rear wing? Team Corvette's longtime foe, the Porsche 911, is similarly hellbent on ultimate performance. And as a reminder of how long the Corvette/911 rivalry has been melting tires we present the 1990 Porsche 911 as reimagined by Singer you see below. It's beautiful, it's green, and it's packing 500 air-cooled horsepower. You don't have to burn gasoline to go fast, as proven by the second-generation Tesla Roadster, which was revealed as a surprise late last week. Elon Musk says it'll be the quickest car in the world with a 0-60 time of just 1.9 seconds. And while you may not think of a semi truck when you think speed, the Tesla Semi can do 0-60 in 5 seconds flat unloaded, or in 20 seconds with a load of 80,000 pounds. Compared to today's crop of diesel semis, that's amazing. Continuing the truck theme, we present an artists rendering of what the next-generation Ram 1500 pickup may look like. Spoiler alert: Ram's mini-semi look is giving way to something much more modern. There may even be a first-of-its-kind split tailgate at the rear. And if you don't think the Ram 1500 has anything to do with performance, we should remind you that it's one of the cheapest ways to get a tire-shredding Hemi V8 engine in America. 2019 Chevy Corvette ZR1: All hail the 755-horsepower C7 king This is the first Porsche 911 to get Singer and Williams' 500-horsepower engine Tesla Roadster surprise reveal | 'Quickest car in the world' Tesla Semi Truck revealed: Here are the key details This could be the next-generation 2019 Ram 1500 2019 Ram 1500 spotted with split tailgate

Chevy Bolt meets 2016 Nissan Leaf at LA NEDW event [UPDATE]

Mon, Sep 14 2015

The 2015 National Drive Electric Week kicked off this past weekend with events happening all around the world. Our friends from Plug In America (PIA) send us some notes and pictures from one of the larger events in Los Angeles, CA. This event was special because it saw the debut of the 2016 Nissan Leaf and the west coast debut of the Chevy Bolt concept. The two electric vehicles were in the same place at the same time for the first time ever. Besides that little bit of electric vehicle history, the organizers helped facilitate 800 test drives, PIA co-founder Zan Dubin Scott told AutoblogGreen. The city of Los Angeles also gave proclamations to movie director Chris Paine (Who Killed The Electric Car? and Revenge Of The Electric Car) and the three national organizers of Drive Electric Week: PIA, the Sierra Club and the Electric Auto Association. Speakers at the event included names that should be familiar to AutoblogGreen readers: California state senator Kevin de Leon, race car driver Leilani Munter, and Dave Barthmuss of General Motors, among others. Joel Levin, the executive director of Plug In America, said during his speech that, "Electric cars are changing the world. Every time one of these vehicles gets sold, our air gets a little cleaner. We will take a big bite out of climate change. Our economy will not be subject to wild swings in gas prices. And we will not be involved in foreign wars over oil." Tell us about your own NEDW events (that happened already or are about to happen) in the Comments below. UPDATE: We received the text of Andrew Speaker's comments at the event. Speaker is Nissan's director of Electric Vehicle (EV) Sales & Marketing. We've included them below. Thank you, and good afternoon! On behalf of Nissan, we are proud to sponsor National Drive Electric Week, and we're excited to be able to celebrate it here in Los Angeles with all of you. This is actually my first National Drive Electric Week event, and I am inspired by the level of enthusiasm here today, and seeing everyone's passion for electric vehicles first hand. Nissan has had some big news in the last few days with the introduction of the 2016 Nissan LEAF, which is the world's first affordable electric car to get more than 100 miles of range on a single charge. The 2016 LEAF offers a new 30 kWh battery with an EPA-rated 107 miles of range... and its making its global debut here in Los Angeles.

Best and Worst GM Cars

Thu, Apr 7 2022

Oh yes, because we just love receiving angry letters from devoted Pontiac Grand Am enthusiasts, we have decided to go there. Based on a heated group Slack conversation, the topic came up about the best and worst GM cars. First of all time, and then those currently on sale, and then just mostly a rambling discussion of Oldsmobiles our parents and grandparents owned (or engineered). Eventually, three of us made the video above. Like it? Maybe we can make more. Many awesome GM cars are definitely going unmentioned here, so please let us know your bests and worsts in the comments below. Mostly, it's important to note that this post largely exists as a vehicle for delivering the above video that dives far deeper into GM's greatest hits and biggest flops, specifically those from the 1980s and 1990s. What you'll find below is a collection of our editors identifying a best current and best-of-all-time choice, plus a worst current and worst-of-all-time choice. Comprehensive it is not, but again, comments. -Senior Editor James Riswick Best Current GM Vehicle Chevrolet Corvette We were flying by the seats of our pants a bit in this first outing and my notes were similarly extemporaneous. When it came time to tie it all together on camera, I failed spectacularly. Thank the maker for text, because this gives me the opportunity to perhaps slightly better explain my convoluted reasoning. I chose the C8 Corvette because it's simply overwhelmingly good, and it's merely the baseline from which this generation of Corvette will be expanded.  While the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (more on that in a minute) is an amazing snapshot of GM's current performance standing and its little sibling so enraptured me that I went out and bought one, their existence is fleeting. Corvette will live on; forced-induction Cadillac sport sedans, not so much. So while all three are amazing machines when viewed in a vacuum, the Corvette stands above them as both a reflection of GM's current performance credentials and a signpost of what is to come. So, given the choice between the C8 and the 5V-Blackwing right now, I'd choose the C8. In 10 years, when the Blackwing is no longer in production and Corvette is in its 9th generation? Well, that might be a different story. Now, just pretend I said something even remotely that coherent when we get to the part of the video where I try to make an argument for the 5-V Blackwing as best GM car I've ever driven. Or just laugh at me while I ramble incoherently.
