1956 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster convertible. California car with California title and only in the northeast since 2009. Stored in doors and only driven on nice summer days ever since. Stunning paint and body done in Cascade Green with white coves and a beige interior. This vette packs a dual quad 283 motor and a Tremec 5 speed manual transmission. You can take this car on the highway and cruise at 70 MPH with no issues at all. The fiberglass body is un-hit and un-patched. Everything opens and closes perfectly. The vette rides on its original, un-cut and un-patched frame, the underneath is beautiful (see pictures). The paint is just about show quality, super vibrant and nice and flat with a deep shine. There is a couple minor chips near the kick plate when you open the door, and one when you flip up the gas fill door. There is also a scratch on the bottom passenger rear fender that is near impossible to see unless you are down on the ground up close looking for it (see picture). Mind you, these are all minor and do NOT take away from how beautiful this car really is. All the chrome and stainless are in beautiful condition, no scratches, pitting or any type of hazing. All the glass is in excellent shape with no scratches or chips. The windows also go up and down with ease. The convertible top was new 2 years ago and in excellent shape, no punctures and no staining. The whitewall tires, wheels and hubs are all like new condition. The interior is a 9.8 out of a 10. The seat upholstery and the dash eyebrow is all brand new from Al Knock Corvette interiors which is the best you can buy. All the gauges work including the factory tach. All the instruments and original steering wheel were sent out by the previous owner and were completely restored. The carpet, door panels and everything else are in beautiful condition. Not much to really say about the interior except the fact that it is in beautiful condition. The dual quad 283 motor runs absolutely beautifully. It fires right up with out issue, idles perfectly, has plenty of get up and go power and doesn't smoke, tick or have any weird noises. It will run nice and cool around 160-180 degrees even on the hot summer days sitting in traffic. The Tremec 5 speed manual transmission makes this car an absolute delight to drive. You can buzz around town and if need be, jump on the highway and cruise at an easy 70 MPH in 5th gear. The gearbox has a nice tight gear placement and has no slop, it also has a nice short throw in between gears. The clutch has a perfect grabbing point with no shakes or slipping while driving. Going down the road this vette drives like it is brand new. It drives straight down the road with no vibrations or steering slop. If you hit the manual brakes you stop nice and straight with no pulling. This 1956 Corvette is a beautiful car. There are no stories and it is 100% ready for the new owner to enjoy. The car has always been lovingly maintained and cared for. Just get in, turn the key and head off to the beach.

2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray order guide hits the web
Mon, 15 Apr 2013The official debut of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is only part of the excitement for fans of Chevy's virtuoso sportscar. Although we got to see the car and some of its preliminary specs in Detroit and Geneva, there is still no word on pricing and some of the juicier data points we've been waiting for - such as confirmed power output, EPA estimated mileage figures and performance numbers. Until then, CorvetteBlogger has gotten its hands on the order guide for the coupe version of the car - in both base and Z51 iterations - revealing tidbits like standard and optional features and available color combinations.
Some other new details made it onto the order guide, such as our first interior specs for the coupe including slightly less hip room and headroom, more shoulder room and the same amount of legroom. To see the full order guide, head on over to CorvetteBlogger. From what we can gather, it sounds like more information will be revealed on April 25 during a party at the Corvette Museum, and for those sun worshipers patiently waiting for a convertible, it would appear you've got another model year to wait through.
Pony-car sales war: Mustang vs. Camaro vs. Challenger [UPDATE]
Fri, Jul 3 2015Update: An earlier version of this story misstated the 2015 Mustang's weight when compared with previous models. Additionally, we have added comments from Chevrolet in the text. The Ford Mustang has blown past the Chevy Camaro as America's best-selling pony car, and in June, it wasn't even close. The 'Stang outsold the Camaro 11,719 to 8,611 cars. The Camaro remained ahead of the Dodge Challenger, which sold 6,845 units. Even though the Camaro did post an 11.5-percent sales improvement in June, the competition is arguably stronger than at anytime since the 1970s muscle-car era. The Mustang's sales leapt a whopping 53.6 percent, while the Challenger saw a gain of 56 percent. Several factors are weighing down Camaro sales, including its lame duck status. Chevy is launching a new generation of the Camaro this year that's more than 200 pounds lighter, offers a new turbo four-cylinder engine option, and has a nicer interior than the outgoing model. Put simply: wait a few months and you can get a better car. It's also unlikely Chevy will jack up the price much, as it's historically kept the Camaro within reach of everyday enthusiasts. While Chevy fans wait in anticipation for their new sports car, Ford and Dodge have downshifted. The new Mustang, which went on sale last year, is faster and more sophisticated than its predecessor. It also offers a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder, which Ford has credited for the Mustang's recent uptick and makes up 36 percent of the car's sales, Ford analyst Erich Merkle said. View 17 Photos June's performance allowed the Mustang to widen its sales gap with the Camaro this year. Through the first five months, Ford sold 68,290 Mustangs, a 54.4-percent increased compared with 2014. Chevy sold 42,593 Camaros, an 8.7-percent decrease. The Challenger – long the No. 3 pony car in sales volume – has seen its sales surge 41 percent this year to 37,011 units. Spokesman Monte Doran said Chevy expected that 2015 would be a "relatively soft year" for the Camaro. "Mustang is taking advantage of years' worth of pent-up demand for an independent rear suspension," he said. "When Camaro introduced an IRS, in 2009, it helped make us the best-selling performance car in America.
Is this '47 Chevrolet a rat rod or a sports car?
Sun, May 22 2016These days there are plenty of vehicles that blur the conventional automotive class structures. For instance, was the Honda Crosstour a wagon or an SUV? And what exactly was the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet? Regardless, those line-blurring cars (or trucks) are out there, and though this one didn't roll off a production line, it's still quite the automotive head-scratcher. Hailing from Missouri, this epic creation is one part mad science experiment, one part 1947 Chevrolet pickup, and one part '95 Mercury Cougar. Add it all up and you get an awesome truck-sports-car hybrid, complete with an outrageous wing and a V8 to boot. And interestingly enough, it's up for sale . RELATED: Check out this Wild-Styled Lamborghini Rat Rod So how does it all come together? According to the listing, the Chevrolet truck cab (which had previously been chopped) was sanded down to bare metal and given a thorough shellacking of clear coat. It was then melded together with the front end of a 1995 Chevrolet S10 pickup truck, and set low to the ground on Bilstein suspension drop spindles. Stance achieved. But instead of fielding an engine from either of those pickups, it pulls its heart from a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV—a big 5.3-liter V8 heart, that is. It comes backed-up to a GM Turbo 400 automatic transmission. Towards the rear however is where things get really interesting. A Copper Pearl coated tube frame chassis both attaches the rear independent suspension (a la Mercury Cougar) to the racy spoiler, as well as secures the rat rod's rear-mounted radiator, fan, and fuel tank. I'm not quite sure why, but it just looks glorious. RELATED: Reports Say Mid-Engine Corvette Will Arrive in 2018 Inside the vintage cab, the Chevrolet furthers its racing proclivities (it's said to have won burnout and auto-cross events) with a pair of harnessed racing seats, a drift brake, a detachable steering wheel, and a tachometer with oil and temperature gauges, but oddly no speedometer. The shifter is a crescent wrench. And its shift boot? That's a Crown Royal Purple bag. All in all, this grin-worthy Frankenstein creation tallies up bits and pieces from four different vehicles (five if you include the Camaro wheels), which make it truly a mash-up of epic proportions.
