Rare 99% restored 1965 Greenbrier Deluxe van. On of only 1,528 produced in the final year for the Greenbrier! Correct replacement 110 HP block. Balance of drivetrain is original and rebuilt, including Powerglide transmission and differential. Replacement Clark interior in original gold color. Exterior color was a unique factory original special order. Took months to figure that one out! Vehicle was originally sold in Colorado, second owner in Florida where I purchased it. For a detailed look at the restoration please link to the following: http://www.corvairkid.com/R1265S100889.htm . Remaining work to complete restoration includes replacing the aftermarket windshield rubber (doesn't fit and left a gap on the upper passenger side, stripping off the interior roof insulation (surface rust that I should have dealt with during restoration but discovered afterwards), the fuel gauge can be temperamental and operates intermittently, and there is a very small hairline crack in the paint just below the driver's outside mirror. Other than these small improvements, the vehicle is a one-of-a-kind restored example of the rarest of Greenbriers. Mileage shows low (original dash assembly), but I assume the vehicle has turned over once. A beautiful vehicle for someone who understands the uniqueness of a special order 1965! The reserve price reflects that but is well below the restoration costs. Your questions are most welcome!

Hot Wheels' Twitter-enabled vending machine coughs up free Camaro diecasts
Wed, 27 Feb 2013There are still plenty of companies that haven't gotten the whole social media thing down pat yet, but Hot Wheels isn't one of them. During the recent Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, Hot Wheels created a lot of buzz for itself by using a vending machine filled with Chevrolet Camaro models, but instead of money to get the cars, show attendees just had to use Twitter.
To get the free car, people were asked to send a tweet to Hot Wheels Canada saying what they liked about the new Hot Wheels Edition Camaro, and including the #ChevyCIAS hashtag. This seemed to be a popular marketing tool, too, as AdWeek reports that the @HotWheelsCanada account more than tripled in followers during the course of the 10-day show. Looking ahead, this could open up even more innovative marketing possibilities using social media.
Check out the video posted below to watch how it works, and while the auto show has ended and the free-car giveaway has too, we're almost certain that some of the 1,500 freebies will make their way onto eBay.
Chevy Bolt EV might not come to UK
Tue, Sep 22 2015Anyone expecting the upcoming James Bond movie to feature scenes with the suave namesake cruising around London in a Chevrolet Bolt (yes, there are some of us around) will likely be disappointed. That's because it is apparently doubtful that the General Motors flagship division will make right-hand-drive versions of the electric vehicle for the UK. So we'll have to suffice with the dashing spy ripping around town in Aston Martins and the like. The UK's Autocar reported from the Frankfurt Auto Show and quoted a Chevrolet spokeswoman saying the Bolt with be "a global vehicle," though she wasn't more specific, or specific enough for the British. Indeed, GM is prepping to sell the Bolt in the US and will also distribute the EV in Europe with an Opel nameplate. This is how it worked with the Chevrolet Volt extended-range plug-in (known as Opel Ampera across the Pond). That said, the fine citizens of the UK will be left out of the opportunity to buy the electric vehicle, which may make a pretty big splash thanks to a single-charge range of about 200 miles, or more than double anything that's not a Tesla Model S. The Bolt will sell in the US for $37,500 before government incentives kick in. It was announced this past February that the Bolt will go into production at GM's Orion plant near Detroit at some point. For a time, GM thought of changing the name because of potential confusion with the Chevy Volt, but GM confirmed this past spring that the name will stick. The car is expected to go on sale in 2017.
