This car was originally owned by Jack Finstar (So Cal Corvair Club President) and was featured in the 1990 issue of Car and Driver. The car has been included in several vintage collector car books that are included with the car. The car is all original with exception of the new AR Turbo mags with Goodyear Eagle GT Radials.I have the spare tire holder with the car (removed). Since owning the car I had the Turbo and Carb completely rebuilt (Clarks). The car is 100% straight and has never been hit. It has rust anywhere beside minor surface areas that (scratches in paint). The interior is like new and original and the cat has the telescopic wheel and fold down seat. This car is in very very good original condition and starts and drives great. The larger wheels and tires bad a big difference.I am only selling as I am unable to fit in my garage and the car is to nice to be covered outside."

Vintage all original 1965 Corsa Corvair (originally owned by Jack Finster). The car is extremely straight and has never been hit. has original paint that does have some cracks and chips, but still looks good. This is a very documented car and is an extremely fine example of the year and model.

This is not a restored car but due to the low mileage (45K) it still runs and drives great. It goes down the highway straight as an arrow when I let go of the wheel. Most of these cars have at some point been hit and then straighten, this one has not ever been hit.

All correct chrome is on the car, one of the wheel well chrome strips has a small dig.

I am on the fence to even sell it as my first car was a 65 110 and my only real concern is that I can't fit it into my garage so it has to stay outside with a 300 dollar cover on it (cover included). My wife hates the car and wants me to by an older vintage ford, chevy, or GMC truck (1951-53).

If you are looking for a 65 turbo and want one that is original (except wheels) and has never been messed with then look no further.

The pictures do not do it justice.
The interior is absolutely amazing with no tears or rips in any of the seats.
The ceiling liner is perfect.
The ash tray has never had a cig in either !!!
All glass is good, and the only missing items are the 13" wheels and hubcaps.
(I took alot of time to pick out the AR Turbo Rims and they look fantastic as well as period correct)
They have less than 200 miles on them.

Big discounts on 2015 Chevy Volt before 2016 model arrives

Wed, Apr 22 2015

Having not driven it yet, this writer thinks the 2016 Chevrolet Volt appears to be an excellent update to country's flagship hybrid. The current car, though, still has plenty to offer and can hold its Bowtie high. If you'd rather save money on a 2015 than have the latest technology, a Cars Direct rundown of incentives and lease deals on a 2015 Volt shows that fruit is ready to be plucked. With plenty of the current model year on dealer lots, Chevy has more than doubled the rebate to $2,500, and offers 2.9-percent financing for 48 months. If you want to lease, the signing payment is now only $500, down from $1,499. You can get that down to zero dollars if you're trading in a competitor. Payments for 39 months are reduced $50, to $249. So it's officially open season for hardcore Volt haggling. Admittedly, though, it will probably only get better as we get close to the 2016s rolling into dealerships, so you can start lining up a deal now but know your position will only strengthen as the weeks pass. Plug In 2014: VIA makes the case for 'free' plug-in hybrid work vans, trucks

Fri, Aug 1 2014

If you're a fleet manager who's been waiting anxiously for the chance to buy a plug-in hybrid van from Via Motors, your wait is almost over. If you work for the right fleet, anyway. David West, the chief marketing efficer for VIA Motors, took AutoblogGreen for a ride around the San Jose Convention Center in a Via van sporting an Electric Blue paint job as part of the Plug In 2014 Conference this week and gave us an update on how things are coming along. The big news is that the Via PHEV van production is going to start by the end of September. Via can currently build two vans an hour at its production plant in Mexico, or about 16 a day and could easily double that. "That would get us to 20,000 a year with two full lines running," West said. "We have the capacity." "There is no way gas can compete with electric." – David West, Via Motors But they can't sell that many quite yet. By the end of December, around 350 Vans will be made, mostly for a $20-million program from the Department of Energy (DOE) and the South Coast Air Quality Management District that will see the vehicles used by fleets that will report energy data to the Idaho National Lab. Via is also finishing up CARB certification for both the van and the company's plug-in hybrid pick-up truck. About 50 percent of Via's technology in the truck will not need to be tested again, since it's the same as what's in the van, but things like crash tests will need to be done twice. Despite the progress, this is not where Via hoped it would be today. The bankruptcy of battery supplier A123, "took about a year off our timeline," West said. "It's been getting a little slow getting it to market, there have been some challenges, particuarly since we had the country's worst recession right in the middle of this wrap up, but it's inevitable in my mind. There is no way gas can compete with electric." Maybe that's why FedEx has expressed an interest in buying around 5,000 units, West said. FedEx already has some pilot vehicles, just like Verizon does, and PG&E wants to replace all of their gas trucks with electric vehicles, which would be another 3,000 sales, he said. Besides the fuel savings, vehicles like these, with easy on-site power generation, could also work wonders in post-disaster situations, he said, since they could replace the need for generators.

Vert-A-Pac train cars kept your Chevy Vega's price in check

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

Our apologies to those who've seen this before, but for the rest of the class, how awesome are these pictures of the Vert-A-Pac shipping system General Motors came up with to ship the Chevrolet Vega back in the 1970s? Developed along with Southern Pacific Railroad, GM was able to double the amount of Vega models it could ship by packing them into the unique storage cars vertically.
At the time, rail cars could fit 15 vehicles each, but Chevrolet was able to lower shipping costs by making it possible to ship 30 Vegas per rail car, in turn allowing the price of the Vega to remain as low as possible. Each rail car had 30 doors that would fold down so that a Vega could be strapped on, and then a forklift would come along and lift the door into place. All the cars were positioned nose down, and since they were shipped with all of their required fluids, certain aspects had to be designed specifically for this type of shipping, including an oil baffle in the engine, a special battery and even a repositioned windshield washer reservoir. See for yourself in our image gallery above.
