1972 Chevy Cheyenne Super 20, Ochre paint, 130K original miles, 3 owner truck, 350ci, manual transmission, air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, AM/FM push button radio, tented glass.  This is a very nice original truck and as you can tell from the pictures it is in very good condition.  The truck is a true three owner truck with all the documentation to prove the owner history as well as miles.  The truck comes with the original protecto plate and many if not every receipt of work completed to the truck over the last 42years.  The truck retains most, if not all, of its original sheet metal. The hood, cab, tailgate and one of the front fenders is the original paint from the factory.  The interior is original except for the bench seat was recovered a few years ago.  However the seat still looks very nice and matches the truck well.  Most of the trim is in very nice condition, however a few pieces have been screwed to the sheet metal to hold them in place.  To my knowledge everything works on the truck except the radio.  Even the AC works, which still uses the old R12 refrigerant and an extra can is included in the sell.   All the weather stripping is in excellent condition as well.  This truck is a true time capsule from 1972, and would look great in anyone’s collection.  I was certainty excited to add it to my collection.  Unfortunately my wife does not share the same enthusiasm, hence this ebay listing.  I am only selling to keep the peace at home!

Please view all the pictures and ask questions.  I can email additional pictures if needed.  I am the owner and I have the clear IL title in my name.  The buyer is responsible for pick up or shipping.  The truck is located in Casey, IL 62420.  Also the truck is for sale locally therefore I reserve the right to end the auction anytime.  Do not bid if you have zero feedback I will cancel your bid, contact me first.  A $250.00 non-refundable deposit is required 48 hours after the sale.  The balance is due before the truck will be released.  Again ask questions I will do my best to answer.  There is no warranty implied or otherwise Sold as Is.  Thank you for your interest!

2014 Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra full configurators truck in

Sat, 15 Jun 2013

You can now put prices to your wildest option-sheet dreams of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. A microsite for the full-size pickup truck twins has been up since January, and now the full-blown configurator is live and ready to take your virtual orders. The only two chassis configurations available at the moment are the Crew Cab with either a short or standard bed - Regular and Double Cab versions will come later. In Silverado flavors that will run you $32,710 for the short box, $33,010 for the standard box, while the Sierra adds a $1,500 premium to both of those prices, and destination and handling for both models adds another $995.
Since these are American pickups the list of modifications is lengthy, but we added $11,450 in just two steps by starting with the Silverado Crew Cab and standard bed, then checking four-wheel drive and the LTZ Z71 package. Our final truck, resplendent in Brownstone Metallic paint, heated and cooled Cocoa/Dune perforated leather seating and tasty details like chrome recovery hooks, and engine block heater and LED cargo box lighting, rang up $57,285 at the candy store.
They'll be on dealer lots sometime this summer, so now's a good time to start practicing your box-checking.

GM won't pay owners of recalled cars for lost value

Thu, 12 Jun 2014

Kenneth Feinberg, the man in charge of the General Motors compensation fund dealing with the its widespread ignition switch woes, has issued an informal, two-letter response to the plaintiffs in more than 70 lawsuits seeking redress for lost resale value of their Cobalts: "No." The cases were recently combined into one, but Feinberg told The Detroit News that the fund will deal "only with death and physical injury claims," and that "perceived diminished value" will get no consideration.
ALG, the firm specializing in establishing residual values, determined that Cobalt owners had lost $300 compared to the segment competition and doesn't envision any long-term effects from the recall situation. Feinberg's statement comes in advance of public details on how the compensation fund will work and adheres to GM's long-held position on the matter. The company has already asked a judge to throw out such suits using the pre-bankruptcy defense, even as it stopped using that defense in cases of injury and death.
With plenty of potential gain from the GM suit, however, don't expect the plaintiffs to give up yet. When Toyota was sued for the same reason during the unintended acceleration debacle, it eventually settled the case for between $1 billion and $1.4 billion just to get it over with. Since the 85 law firms involved in the Toyota litigation took home more than $250 million of that total, we shouldn't expect the attorneys to give up on a GM payout, either.

GM dealers unhappy about pickup prices

Mon, 21 Oct 2013

The backlash is beginning. Following General Motors' price hike of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra last week, dealers across the country are expressing their ire over increasing prices in the face of rebates and discounts on trucks from Ford and Ram.
Speaking to Automotive News, Sam Pilato, the general manager at Dimmitt Chevrolet in Clearwater, FL, Silverados are "selling very poorly." W. Carrol Smith, the president of Monument Chevrolet in the heart of truck country, Texas, said, "[GM's] position is that the vehicle stands on its own and it doesn't need a bigger rebate. That's not what the market is telling us."
According to AN, that's the general attitude amongst Chevy and GMC dealers across the country, where the twin pickups are getting butchered in sales by competitors offering up to $9,000 off their sticker prices. Part of the problem for GM is that its trucks are arriving on the market near the end of the current F-150's lifecycle, a fact that Ford has taken advantage of.
