1972 CHEVELLE 2 DR HT. THIS CAR HAS SS BADGES AND SS DOOR PANELS ON IT, THIS CAR IS NOT A TRUE SS, I WAS GOING TO DO AN SS CLONE. 1972 350 ENGINE W/TH350 TRANS, POWER DRUM BRAKES, 10 BOLT REAR. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE GEAR RATIO IS. OVERALL, IT HAS A DECENT BODY BUT THE LH REAR QTR PANEL (FULL PANEL) AND OUTER WHEEL HOUSE WILL NEED TO BE REPACED. WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR, SOMEONE HAD CUT OUT PART OF THE DAMAGED QTR PANEL ( I THINK THIS WAS DONE TO ALLOW THE REAR TIRE TO ROLL). I USED ALUM TAPE TO  TO COVER THIS CUTOUT AREA TO KEEP THE RAIN WATER OUT, THAT IS THE REASON IT LOOKS SO WRINKLY IN THIS AREA. PACKAGE TRAY HAS 2 BIG SPEAKER HOLES CUT IN IT. THIS IS AN AC CAR, BUT IT IS NOT HOOKED UP. HAS SOFTRAY GLASS, NO DASH PAD/CARPET/HEADLINER, FRONT BENCH SEAT IS NOT IN THE PICTURES, IT IS CURRENTY IN ONE OF MY ELCAMINOS AND I WILL PLACE IT IN THE CAR. CAR RUNS AND DRIVES. I HAD NOT STARTED THE CAR IN A GOOD YEAR OR SO, WHEN I STARTED IT, I COULD SMELL THAT THE GAS HAD WENT BAD CAUSING THE MOTOR TO RUN A LITTLE ROUGH, MOST LIKELY IT MAY HAVE FOULED A PLUG OR TWO. MOTOR HAD RUNNED GREAT BEFORE, NEED TO DRAIN THE TANK AND PUT FRESH FUEL IN IT. SOLID FLOORSPANS, I HAD RESTORED THE TRUNK ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO, SPRAYED WITH TRUNK SPLATTER PAINT. EXTERIOR BLACK PAINT IS GOING BAD IN SOME SPOTS. BOTH LOWER FRONT FENDERS  AND THE RH LOWER QTR PANEL HAVE SMALL RUST HOLES, EASY REPAIRS. HAVE KEYS TO DOORS, IGN AND TRUNK. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW MANY MILES ARE ON THE CAR SO THE BLOCK WITH THE MILEAGE IS NOT CORRECT,(EBAY MAKES YOU PUT A MILEAGE # IN THIS BLOCK). CURRENTY TAGGED IN AL.. THE STATE OF AL. DOES NOT ISSUE A TITLE FOR VEHICLES 35 YEARS AND OLDER. THESE OLDER VEHICLES ARE SOLD WITH AN BILL OF SALE ONLY. I HAVE AN LETTER HEAD LETTER FROM THE DMV THAT I CAN PROVIDE TOO. THIS LETTER IS TAKEN TO YOUR DMV WITH THE BILL OF SALE TO REG THE VEHICLE. I HAVE DONE THIS SEVERAL TIMES MYSELF WHEN I LIVED IN ANOTHER STATE, WORKED JUST AS EASY AS HAVING A TITLE. ALSO, YOU CAN LOOK AT THIS INFO ON AL.GOV WEB SITE. SO, WITH THIS SAID, THIS CAR IS SOLD WITH AN BILL OF SALE.

THESE OLD CHEVELLE'S ARE GETTING HARD TO FIND. I TRYED TO LIST ALL THE AREAS THAT NEED ATTENTION AND COULD OF MISSED A THING OR TWO. THIS IS A GOOD SOLID BODY CAR FOR A PROJECT. I HAVE TO MANY OTHER HIGHER PRI PROJECTS TO WORK ON, SO I AM OFFERING THIS ONE FOR SALE. CAR IS FOR SALE LOCALLY, SO THIS AUCTION MAY END AT ANYTIME.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO TALK TO ME BY PHONE, SEND ME A MESSAGE AND I CAN GIVE YOU MY PHONE #.

Best car infotainment systems: From UConnect to MBUX, these are our favorites

Sun, Jan 7 2024

Declaring one infotainment system the best over any other is an inherently subjective matter. You can look at quantitative testing for things like input response time and various screen load times, but ask a room full of people that have tried all car infotainment systems what their favorite is, and you’re likely to get a lot of different responses. For the most part, the various infotainment systems available all share a similar purpose. They aim to help the driver get where they're going with navigation, play their favorite tunes via all sorts of media playback options and allow folks to stay connected with others via phone connectivity. Of course, most go way beyond the basics these days and offer features like streaming services, in-car performance data and much more. Unique features are aplenty when you start diving through menus, but how they go about their most important tasks vary widely. Some of our editors prefer systems that are exclusively touch-based and chock full of boundary-pushing features. Others may prefer a back-to-basics non-touch system that is navigable via a scroll wheel. You can compare it to the phone operating system wars. Just like some prefer Android phones over iPhones, we all have our own opinions for what makes up the best infotainment interface. All that said, our combined experience tells us that a number of infotainment systems are at least better than the rest. WeÂ’ve narrowed it down to five total systems in their own subcategories that stand out to us. Read on below to see our picks, and feel free to make your own arguments in the comments. Best infotainment overall: UConnect 5, various Stellantis products Ram 1500 Uconnect Infotainment System Review If thereÂ’s one infotainment system that all of us agree is excellent, itÂ’s UConnect. It has numerous qualities that make it great, but above all else, UConnect is simple and straightforward to use. Ease of operation is one of the most (if not the single most) vital parts of any infotainment system interface. If youÂ’re expected to be able to tap away on a touchscreen while driving and still pay attention to the road, a complex infotainment system is going to remove your attention from the number one task at hand: driving. UConnect uses a simple interface that puts all of your key functions in a clearly-represented row on the bottom of the screen. Tap any of them, and it instantly pulls up that menu.

Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.

Motor Trend puts Chevy Camaro Z28 and Porsche 911 GT3 Head 2 Head

Mon, Dec 29 2014

Motor Trend admits, "This is an unfair comparison." But that doesn't make it any less fun to watch when they pit a Camaro Z/28 against the Porsche 911 GT3. The former has a 7.0-liter V8 with 505 horsepower and 481 pound-feet of torque shifted through a six-speed manual. The latter has a 3.8-liter flat-six with 475 hp and 324 lb-ft shifted through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Yet those are only the little disparities – the big disparities are mass and money: the Camaro weighs 3,882 pounds and costs $76,150 as-tested, the Porsche weighs 3,267 pounds and costs $145,785. But they're both about hardcore performance, so MT takes them out on the street, to the drag strip, to the parking lot for figure eights and a skidpad test, and finally to Big Willow for Randy Pobst to give his professional assessment. Remember when a lotta people spent a lotta time debating Pirates vs. Ninjas? This is like that, only it's the "haul-ass good-time car" vs. the "track surgeon." Enjoy the debate in the video.
